Last time, we started our lunch date with the minimal amount of food. I met my previous next-door neighbor, Inez. Her family owned a restaurant in downtown Paris. I was looking so forward to this Saturday being perfect. Then school girls popped through. So we had to leave through a secret entrance that lead us to the strip. As we were walking, we went to a bakery to sit down and get some dessert. Destin saw a friend of his named Ace. He works as a part-timer on the weekends.
As we were eating, I was so happy. The whole "Unfortunate Girl" thing was still on my mind, but food was helping me to forget. I thought. Thank you for lunch, and now you are taking me to my favorite bakery in Paris. I replied. Really? Destin asked. I was born here, and I would visit this bakery as a child with my mom. I replied. Where should we sit to eat our food? Destin asked. Anywhere, the owner won't be mad. I replied. As we entered the bakery, we walked to the register. We looked down at the colorful dessert arrayed before us. Destin smiles. What would you want me to buy you? Destin asked. Well, may I have Black and White, Èclair and Paris-Brest? I replied. Wow, is that you Destin? Ace asked. Ace, what are you doing here? Destin replied. I work here as a part-timer. Ace replied. It's good that you have a job. Destin replied. What an Italian beauty you have with you. Ace replied. He smiled at me. What are you plotting? Destin asked. Well, I am working this weekend. Ace replied. Why are you looking like that? I asked. What are you talking about? Destin asked. You look agitated. I replied. What do you mean? Destin asked. It is just a feeling, that's all. I replied. I'm sorry if I am worried about you, Gabriela. Destin replied. You're fine. If you don't worry, you can't say you are not human. I replied. You are right. Destin replies. See, and now you're smiling. I replied. He smiled. I smiled as well. He took his wallet out of his front pocket. Let me pay for these desserts you ordered. Destin replied. Alright, Destin. I replied. As he was buying it, I felt as if I was a princess. I thought. As he was paying, the employees were being noisy. Destin doesn't seem like an evil person, he is just extremely shy, it's adorable. I thought. As I thought it must have been my imagination. Did I just see my mom with a shopping bag? I'm back here you go, Gabriela. Destin replied. Have you felt like we are being watched? I asked. Yeah, it was Charlotte doing it. Destin replied. How could you figure that out? Destin asked. It's fine actually knowing Charlotte, this was planned out from the start. I replied. Well, she was texting me this whole time. Destin replied. I figured.
