When I awoke it was to gray walls and quiet halls. I remember the fall of Lilia. Though hard as I could I could not save her. I remembered the creature as it spoke to me. I need to find out more, for some reason I feel in my soul that I must help them.

“ it’s about time you woke up.” from my side I hear the voice of D. His tone was quieter than the silence I had heard before.

WHAT HAPPENED I questioned as I slowly sat up.

“ you collapsed after the battle and we have waited so we can get going.”

WHERE ARE WE GOING? I ask as I stand.

“Away, this place is no longer safe for us. We are going somewhere closer to the port so when it opens it will be us going through and no halts.” I think about this as I pull on my loose firing shirt and pants.

CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE HALT KING? I ask as we begin walking towards where the compound doors once stood.

“ Why do you want to know that? Where did you hear that name” at that moment D’s voice got louder and angrier.

ONE OF THE HALTS SAID IT TO ME BEFORE HE WAS KILLED BY LILIA. I think as I slowly got quieter and started backing myself towards the wall.

“ the halt king was someone very close to the Creator and me. They were the reason the Creator left with our children to the other world. He was afraid he would try to corrupt them against us.”

SO YOU ARE THE ONE IN YOUR STORY? THE ONE WHO BECAME ONE WITH THE CREATOR? With that he laughed quietly and his shoulders began to shake.

“ yeah, I am.” he said as he began to walk again.

DON'T YOU MISS HIM? I ask as I follow behind him. DO YOU EVER THINK ABOUT HIM?

“ all of the time. But I get to see him every couple years. He doesn't remember who he is but he gets that one night where he remembers me. That's good enough for me.”

THAT'S REALLY SAD. I'M SORRY YOU DON'T GET MORE TIME.

“ that's okay. I wouldn't have it any other way. We really should be going now.”

YEAH OK.

We traveled for what seemed like hours but only a few minutes. At this point everyone else was tired and I had a lot a bags on my back that I had taken from battle weary adults, or what I assumed were adults.

“ we'll stop here for now. Water and provisions will be provided for all that need it.” at that point a new voice called out from the crowd. From what I could see he was the one that was with Lilia when me and D first arrived at the compound. As I begin to think about how long ago that was he began to walk towards me.

“ hey there, my names Christian. If you need anything, and I mean anything, you know where to find me.”

THAT'S VERY KIND OF YOU. SAY WEREN'T YOU WITH LILIA WHEN I FIRST ARRIVED? At this point I really wanted to know, for some reason I thought it was important to watch him.

“ why yes I was. Me and Lilia go back you see we were the set created 20 years ago.”

HOW DOES THAT WORK EXACTLY? I ask now very curious.

“ you see every couple of years a new batch of ones is created out of nothing to protect the children of The World. Each group lives for about 100 years.”

WHAT ABOUT HIM? I ask tilting my head towards D.

“ He was the first. He's been around for over 3000 years. Since the beginning.”

WOW THAT'S AMAZING. I gush as I follow his movements as he moves from group to group. CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE HALT KING. AND WHAT D SAID ABOUT THE CREATOR SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT HOW I CAN SAVE YOU ALL.

“ wow he lets you call him D. That's a first. But no problem. You see the halt king came to power just after the Creator left. He claims that he is immortal and that no living soul could ever defeat him. The prophecy, however, is another matter. It is claimed that the Savior, you, will defeat the king with powers unknown to this or any other world. And hold mighty above your head the false crown the king has created and present it to the Creator.”

GUESS THERE'S ONLY ONE THING LEFT TO DO. I say as I stand up and grab all of my pack and begin to walk away

“ and what's that?” Christian yelled behind me

STORM THE THRONE I call back over my shoulder.

We arrived at an old abandoned estate at the edge of the wasteland that was right next to the place where me and D fell. On our way I told my plan to D.

“ are you sure that's what you want to do?” he asked as we moved all of the supplies to the back hall being the stairs.

AS SURE AS I EVER COULD BE IN THIS SITUATION I say as we slowly come to a halt.

“ alright, just remember, this was your plan.” he reminded me as he follows me out of the room, “ also are you sure you want to go in alone?”

YEAH, IF I GO IN ALONE THAN I MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE OF LEAVING IF THINGS ARE TOO FAR OVER MY HEAD. I answer as I begin to prepare my bags.

“ okay, good luck out there.” he last said as he went to the main dining hall, “ just try not to die okay.”

OK I say as I watch him disappear through the door.
