"-chan" is a suffix used in names in Japan mostly to younger people or dear (mostly female) friends. "Haruka-chan" here is my first example.
Most know "-san" as an honorific (though usually combined with the family name. I overleap this detail though).
Then there is also -kun (usually used for, for example, male coleagues / classmates), and a few others.
This is just a disclaimer for people who are not familiar with japanese suffixes and / or do not usually read manga (yes those exist! Don't judge! ;-) )
