After Eiji visited the R&D Department head's office, he soon went to the advertising department. He didn't have good relationship with people from this department. At first, he wasn't sure why and thought he was personally hated. But soon he found out that the Advertising Department disliked the Reasearch and Development Department generally.
Rumor was it that Kuwabara-san and Advertising Department's head used to go out together and the rift that grew between the two started the fated discord between two departments. But perhaps, it might be because project leaders from R&D department always took control with advertising decisions that the department became hostile.
"Hello, I'm Eiji Takahashi from R&D department.", Eiji politely introduced himself upon entering the office. He was met with scary glares which seemed to be ready to eat him alive. Eiji gulped and waited for their next move. Sadly, they soon looked away with disinterest and he was totally ignored thereafter.
"Umm, hello. I'm Minami Sakuraba.", a small petite boy approached Eiji. He was fidgeting in nervousness. And from a single look, Eiji knew he was a new recruit.
"Oh, hi. I'm Eiji Takanashi. Are you a new recruit? Don't be so nervous. I'm looking for the people who will work on the new product's TV commercial with me.", Eiji asked. New recruits were always polite. But sooner or later, they would develop the nasty habits of the Advertising department. That's why Eiji thought it would be best if he form good relations with this person.
"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable.", Minami bowed hurriedly. It was obvious that he was nervous. Eiji held himself from cracking a laugh. Instead, he feigned a fake cough.
"No you're not making me uncomfortable. So, about the team...", Eiji asked again but was soon cut off by Minami who replied in a hurry.
"I'm sorry. The department is busy so I was the only person sent to accompany you.", Minami bowed and apologized again.
Eiji honestly wasn't surprised. Given how he was treated, sending a new recruit was to be expected. Being busy or whatever was surely just an excuse. They simply didn't want to work for someone not from their own department. He wondered if he should report this abuse to Kuwabara-san.
"I see. It must have been hard for you Sakuraba-san. I had something to do yesterday and couldn't come to work. Can you fill me up with the project's development?" Eiji asked.
"Yes. We're meeting the hired filming crew today at XX by eleven in the morning. The shooting was supposed to start today but the President wanted the advertisement of the new product to be grand and allotted more budget, so it was decided that filming will be postponed for tomorrow and will be done at Sapporo. I compiled the contents of the project meeting yesterday, so take your time reading it, Takahashi-san."
Minami handed Eiji few papers to read. He scrolled through its content, glancing only at what seemed to be less important and could be checked later. He looked for the reason of the location's change. It seemed that the previous script was scrapped and that the they would come up with a better script today and have the filming crew check them. Which was actually the reason why they were meeting them at eleven.
Eiji then turned to the next page and checked the profile of filming crew and the actors they cast. A few glance was all it took for his eyes to grow wide in surprise, noticing a name he never wanted to see again.
"Nobuaki Umehara... Cinematographer...", Eiji muttered. He wasn't exactly sure but he did know that the young man's name was Nobuaki. The last name was something he couldn't remember but if he had to guess, Umehara should come close. It was a short panic but Eiji soon regained his composure. There was no way it was him. This isn't some cheap grade novel that force meetups and coincidences.
"I have to prepare for some files later Takahashi-san. Please take the papers with you. ", Minami bowed and bid his farewell.
"Alright, Sakuraba-san. Let's meet at the lounge by ten. See you." Eiji soon returned to his apartment. He was continued to be made fun off but he didn't notice the teasing. His mind was occupied. It was telling him that the name on the paper and the person that night wasn't the same. Yet, he couldn't explain the nervous feeling he was getting.
