Sonata had always preferred the gowns her maids wore over her own wardrobe. For some reason the maids outfit just appealed to her. But being at the table with her family proved the Mo’nique families thoughts on the matter.
“Disgraceful… how can Sonata, an adoptive child of ours show such little interest in the Mo'nique family's pride in colors.” Her father murmured openly.
[Its not like I wanted to be your adoptive daughter.]
Sonata knew full well that her thoughts should stay in her head. Adding fuel to a already unstable flame would only lead to more drama. She needed to deescalate the conversation.
“if father wishes me to leave I will accept fathers wish” Sonata replied in a very humble tone.
“I'm just stating fact, you know full well my wish is not as primal. I only think what's best for you as my daughter"
Besides her there where 3 of her siblings at the table.
Joshin, the oldest son was a man that could make even the most stubborn of spirits, humbled. Brother was a master at chess and strategy. Hence why he is rightly entitle the nickname of “grand strategist”
Felix, the second eldest son was the most wild of the mo'nique household. His list of qualities included, sharp instincts and low intelligence, For lack of a better term. He loved the battle field, but had no desire for strategy. My eldest brother detested fighting so father always paired them up when it came to civil defence. For good reason too, they where an unbeatable force when combined.
Celine, the youngest true daughter had a very bubbly front (though in honesty she was the most secretive of her siblings). If Sonata didn't know better she wouldn't second guess Celine’s behavior. Sonata could sense an unending hatred emanating from her sister, and sometimes was curious what she did to deserve the rage. Sonata was the type to avoid confrontation, no confrontation meant no drama. So how could her sister detest her. There was an awkward silence, and Sonata couldn't help but feel a little squeamish.
Breaking the silence her adoptive father stood up so fast, the gauntlets shook. Sonata suddenly for the first time felt intimidated by her father, and she knew that her life was going to get a worse.
“Sonata I hope you know I do not approve of your carefree attitude as of late...” he paused clearing his throat
“...and that is why I have arranged for you to join the arts course at the lights peek institution.”
As her adoptive father finished, everyone present, went pale as a ghost and there mouths gaped wide in shock. Everyone except Sonata who just stood there in thought.
[All that suspence for nothing, and here I was worried something worse might happen.]
