"What exactly is the significance of the word/name 'TazD'?" - T.C.
Well, T.C... I'm sooo glad you brought that up. You probably all are wondering what in the world is "TazD" and if it has any meaning. I think I touched on it in the earlier episodes of this blog, but here is a little more in depth.
No, TazD isn't meant to mean Taz from Looney Tunes or the Tasmanian Devil. In fact, I honestly never considered that cartoon in any of my art. The word Taz hit me when I was young. I was a little more on the bad side of childhood where I was more of a problem child. I would get into a whole lot of trouble, except there was a problem. I never knew I was doing wrong. I always thought it was someone else fault. I always wanted to do right, but I wasn't. I don't remember much since then (except when I find old files about me when I was in Pre K. Trust me, I was a little devil).
I didn't watch a lot of Looney Tunes though but more of Spongebob (RIP Steven Hillenburg). When I started to draw more often, I remembered Taz as my nickname and instead of naming the dog we all love and know today Max, he got his name. Except there was a prob.
Taz is TRADEMARKED!!! Yes, the name itself is taken by the big industry. I learned a little more about copyright in Music class (ironically, the substitute only knew about this and taught us this for a few months, just in time). I then took Taz and change the name a bit, "D". Now the D is kinda a play on word to make it like Taz'ed'. I kicked out the 'e' so it would look a little better. It is pronounced Tazd. I capitalized the D because... why not?
I realized that this might be a problem also since a lot of people are pronouncing it Taz D like it is two words. But, I looked over it and just hoped people will realize soon or later.
TazD is just some play on words... so you think (well that's what I told you, but there is more). I say "Stay TazD" as a phrase a lot. Why you might wonder? Everyone has their own thing they tell their views. Theodd1sout says, "Always wear your seatbelt." Game Theory says, "That's just a theory, A Game Theory." A lot of people who has a company or product want some saying to stick with the user, so mine is "Stay TazD."
Now "Stay TazD" does have some more meaning to me since then. TazD can be anything that someone might view different or weird. By saying this, I am telling all of you to Stay Yourselves no matter who judges you (and Stay Yourself is already Trademarked so there are many options). This is one of the main reason I now use this phrase (and to keep you all coming back; SHHH!! I said nothing! You hear nothing! What are we even talking about anyway?)
So many of my friends have changed who they are because of judgment. No matter what, this has and will continue to stay true to me. I hope that this will stay true to all of you too!
Thanks to T.C. for this question and remember to Stay TazD! >w<
