When Tigree woke up, she was back in the room with Phantom and Sunny. Phantom was still in his bed, and Tigree was in the one that she shared with Sunny. The youngest girl was asleep on the floor across the room, with the blanket from hers and Tigree’s bed.
Even though she had just woken up, Tigree still felt tired and weak and a little bit sick.
A few moments later she fell out of her bed, her legs tangled in the blanket as she ran to the bathroom and puked. She fell to the cold tile floor, feeling tired and sick and angry at the woman for making her sick like Phantom.
She didn’t really understand it. The woman had always been good to her and Sunny. But now she made Tigree sick, and Dr. Trevor had made Phantom sick and, and Tigree didn’t understand it at all.
She vomited again and cried, feeling too hot, even wearing only shorts and a short sleeved shirt.
The next few days were very similar, with Tigree sick in the bathroom and Phantom sick out in the bedroom and Sunny quiet and worried and staying still and sleeping on the floor.
The woman finally came and took Tigree out of the room, despite her being sick, to do training or something. The girl ended each day exhausted and sick and then every day the woman would get her to train. She would learn sparring moves and have to stop in order to puke. But she got stronger and was learning how to fight, and with Phantom not feeling much better, Tigree began to think that she had a chance to stand up to him.
Of course, that feeling didn’t last for long once Tigree became much sicker, unable to move without hurting, and Phantom started to improve. In fact, in no time at all, Tigree was lying in bed and Phantom was shouting at her from across the room; any sympathy he may have had for her gone. He started to leave once again with Dr. Trevor, and then he got stronger and meaner until he became not much more than a monster.
Eventually, he never came back to the room. Sunny had been taken by the other man at some point, and once Tigree started to feel better, the woman came and got her. That was the last time they had seen that room, and the last time that the three children would see each other in a long time.
