“That will be $21.56.” A cashier said proudly, tapping a few buttons behind the register. From his pocket, Sebastian pulled one of his stacks of money from his pocket and handed the cashier a twenty, and a five.
“Keep the change.” He said, grabbing his bags of cat food, and regular, human food. The cashier nodded, slipping the bills into the register, and printing up Sebastian’s receipt.
“Thank you for shopping here. Come back again!” She said happily, waving after Sebastian, who was speeding away.
“Human contact is gross, most of the time.” He thought, shivering in disgust. As he strolled outside, he pulled his hood over his head, as it had started to drizzle. From his pocket, he drew a cigarette, placing it between his lips. Once again, he pulled out his pink lighter, lit the cigarette, and took a long drag. Someone bumped into him, growling under their breath.
“Watch it, dumbass.”
“You were the one blocking more of the sidewalk.” Sebastian murmured, making the man whirl around.
“What did you say?!” He shouted, stepping up and getting in Sebastian’s face. He reeked of tequila, and his words were slurred. “Oh, god’s sake.”
“You heard me.” He said cooly, smirking and puffing on his cigarette. The man was breathing heavy, and just as he cocked his hand back to throw a punch, he fell to the ground, a dart in his back. The man in the tux was holding a dart gun with a silencer attached to it.
“Awh, man, I could’ve taken him!!” Sebastian whined, flicking away his cigarette and crossing his arms. "Hey wait, what are you doing here?!"
"I was told to follow you." The man admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. Sebastian huffed and turned on his heel.
"If you'll excuse me, Nemo needs me!"
"Nemo?"
"MY CAT!"
