Alan's pov
Most of my night was filled with texting Bob. During that time Bob gave me ideas on how to get Stacie. Later on, I got my bag and did my work, I didn't see mom so she probably was in her room. I eventually hit the hay after he said he should be going to sleep. Waking up on a Saturday was always a good feeling, no school even though I still had homework to do. I got my work out again yawning and started getting back to work in it. I finished most of it last night thankfully. I still needed to apologize to mom, probably best to do it after I'm done with what I have to do.
"Alan." I heard mom's voice behind my door and I glanced up.
"Yeah come in," I said quietly and continued doing my homework as mom opened the door walking in.
"We need to talk about last night." she sighed as she sat on the bed.
"I'm sorry mom, I shouldn't have yelled at you and said what I said. It was wrong of me." I apologized as I worked.
I felt my ear being tugged. I groaned and looked up at my mom who was glaring slightly. She sighed before letting go.
"Don't bite the hand that feeds you. I was going to tell you I quit my job because I was offered a better job that not only pays more but I can work fewer hours too," she explained.
"What?! That's great mom!" I smiled rubbing my ear.
"Uh huh, now are you glad that you listened to me? What's great about this job is that it's a fancy food place where I can bake and be a waitress. But it pays very well surprisingly plus I can get tips." she said smiling now.
"Well I'm really happy mom..I'm really sorry about last night." I apologized again and she messed up my hair making me grumble.
"Just try not to do it again," she responded and I nodded as I finished up my homework. "I'm glad you're doing your work also;"
I looked up from my work to see her holding up a beer can. A can that I knew I must have forgotten to throw away. Looking away I put up my work.
"Won't happen again, Mom," I muttered.
"Where did you get it from?" she asked with her eyes narrowed.
"Uhh...a guy from school." I sighed.
"Do I need to call your school?"
"No! It won't help anything anyway. It'll just cause a lot of problems." I said quickly.
"Well then don't follow the crowd help lead them on the right track or less your own crowd on the right path." mother lectured me and I nodded sighing.
"Okay, mom." I nodded and she stood up.
"Good," she responded kissing my forehead before leaving my room.
I sighed but smiled a bit. I was glad that I fixed things with mom. No the only thing I was glad about. With this new job, mom got maybe we could get a better house and be more relaxed. Getting my phone I started typing a message to Stacie but I didn't send it. I didn't want to seem so weird sending a text in the morning. Looking through my messages I went back to Bob and I's messages. There I read the ideas he gave me.
Bob
Bob: On this website it says girls like a guy to take charge, make things happen. But I say some girls don't since there are girls who like to do that role.
Me: Yeah yeah Bobby yo. Anything else?
Bob: Well I watched some videos and did some more research on other websites and started writing up a plan with steps that can possibly help you with the kind of girl Stacie is I think. But I don't know much about her so I tried to write down ones that would work for most girls.
Me: Well send them over!
Bob: A thank you would be nice Alan.
Me: Thank you
Bob: 1.) Talk to her, get to know her better (Ask about things she cares about and matters to her)
2.) Show her you're a good person to be in her life and will be there for her when you can
3.) Go out somewhere she would like to go (probably best with others)
4.) Take things slow and let your feelings be known
5.) Go somewhere alone, just the two of you
And that's all I have at the moment.
I sighed rereading the first step. Eventually, I sent my good morning text to Stacie. I also sent a text to Bob then Kaden and Landon. Landon was the first to respond.
Landon
Landon: Dude it's too early to be texting
Me: Dude I know but I just sent Stacie
a good morning text and
I'm freaking out
Landon: Lol good job dude maybe she'll text back if she does don't be a creep
Me: How would I be a creep?
Landon: Texting all fast and shit. Not to mention if your awkward and nervous you might say some dumb shit too.
Me: Ugh your right
Landon: Lol good luck Alan I'm going back to sleep and tell me how it goes
I grumbled to myself texting him an okay when Bob sent me a message. Getting off the messages between Landon and me went to Bob's. I realized I spelled morning the wrong way. Stopping myself from slapping myself I read his message.
Bob
Me: Good mourning
Bob: Um good morning to you too?
Me: Didn't realize I put the wrong morning
Bob: I bet, did you try any of the steps?
Me: Yeah yeah I'm working on it. Wyd
Bob: Ugh, I'm doing a math project.
Me: A math project? Wtf could you be doing as a project for math?
Bob: Well I am building a dollar coaster and have to figure out the expenses for building it which depends on the number of seats and materials.
Me: Sounds like too much work for nothing unless your building a real roller coaster
Bob: It's supposed to be fun.
Me: Is it?
Bob: Not really...
Me: I didn't think so. Fuck math projects now to think of it I think I might be getting one soon too
Bob: Maybe yours will be fun.
Me: When has a project past elementary been fun? I'll give you middle school maybe but in high school?
Bob: Just being optimistic. Also, it's you're. You keep saying your.
Me: I don't always have time to think about that I'm just trying to text but fiiine geez
Bob: Thank you.
I rolled my eyes at his message. As I started texting back my reply I got a new message. It wasn't from Bob or Kaden but Stacie. I swallowed and sent my reply to Bob quickly. Soon afterward I clicked on Stacie's message.
Stace
Stace: Good morning Alan! Sorry, I didn't reply yesterday, my dog had to get shots. I'm glad you text, are you free to come to the school later on today?
Me: Oh um yeah sure and it's okay! I hope your dog is okay. What time?
Stace: Around eleven-thirty a.m. and she's alright! Thanks for worrying.
Me: Of course! And I'll see you there?
I sent that quickly when I noticed Bob had responded back. I read his message then began to type my reply to him.
Bob
Bob: Anyway, I think I'll be at school more often then I want to be or at least have a bit more work. I guess not too bad since I'll be able to finish it just as easy as I do with most school work related things.
Me: Why you say that?
My phone vibrated once more. Stacie had text me back. Guess I would have to be getting used to switching back and forth between the two. Sure I would text Kaden and Landon at the same time sometimes but they didn't normally reply back quick. Well, Landon didn't so I could easily text Kaden and eventually text Landon back when he replied back.
Stace
Stace: Of course!
Me: Great! I mean well um
it will good to see you.
Stace: I agree!
I smiled at her message. But I had to remember to not read too much into it. And while I was at the school with her I needed to show her such a great guy I am. I needed to win her over somehow and by winning her over I meant her heart.
Me: So what are you up to now?
Stace: Studying!
Me: Oh want me to leave you alone?
Bob
Bob: The principal wants me to be working on the radio in our school. Make announcements, tell the news, and so on. I'll even be telling the weather.
Me: So you're going to be a news reporter and weatherman/reporter?
Bob: Basically, giving your friend and others another reason to bully me.
Me: Hey he's not my friend. He's coming after my Stacie anyway
Bob: Right, your Stacie.
Me: Oh shut up
Stace
Stace: Yes please, sorry. We can talk more at the school.
Me: Definitely! Don't sweat it
Bob
Bob: Make me, it's the truth and you know it.
Me: That she's mine? And I will make you! Besides, I'll be seeing her later today at school.
Bob: A threat? And why at school?
Me: Probably for the Halloween Party
Bob: I will probably have to talk about that on the radio. I'm going to need to say things to make people go since many besides some and the freshmen go to those dances.
Me: Maybe you should come and help with me
Bob: I think I'll pass I have this project to finish. Not to mention need to write my introduction speech for my first time on the intercom.
Me: Well good luck with that
