We stood at the entrance to the capital. I was unsure what to think about it. It seemed just like any city from Etis Online. The guards at the entrance saw our adventure badges and waved us in. We asked a wandering guard and got the location of the adventures guild. We wanted to go there before any other shops because we had many corpses and furs in our inventories. We wanted to see if there were any quests we could do for easy money and quest points.
The building was huge and took up a large space near the wall leading to the inner city. The guild had dorms for teams to stay in if they had to stay in the city for a while, and the rent was cheaper than most inns.
Walking inside it was easy to find the quest board. It was divided into three categories, collection, hunting, and protection. Then it was divided into ranks. At our level, there were hunting and gathering quests we could turn in.
Quest - Collect herbs
Collect 15 Vasol leaves.
Reward: 2 Silver, 1 quest point
Repeatable quest
Quest - Collect herbs
Collect 15 Maltha leaves.
Reward: 2 Silver, 1 quest point
Repeatable quest
Quest - Hunt Rabbits
Bring 5 rabbits
Reward: 5 Silver, 1 Quest point
Repeatable quest
Quest - Hunt Wolves
Kill 10 wolves
Reward: 20 Silver, 5 Quest point
Repeatable quest
Quest - Hunt Bears
Kill 5 Bears
Reward: 20 Silver, 5 Quest point
Repeatable quest
We took one of each of the markers and want to the quest turn in desk. She looked at us a little dubiously.
We would like to turn in 300 Vasol leaves, for this quest. 600 Maltha Leaves, for this quest. 100 Rabbits for this quest, 100 Wolves for this quest and finally 50 bears for this quest.” I said and we handed everything over to the receptionist.
Her eyes about fell out of her head as we handed everything over. A couple of other people came over to help her look through everything.
“Sorry, we have not been to a town in a while,” I said rubbing my head. My illusion still had 15 minutes before I would need to recast it.
“It's good, this makes it easier than normal,” she said with a smile. “It will be 40 Silver and 20 Quest Points for the Vasol leaves, 80 Silver and 40 Quest Points for the Maltha leaves. 100 Silver and 20 Quest points for the Rabbits, 200 Silver and 50 Quest points for the Wolves and finally 200 Silver and 50 Quest Points for the bears. For a grand total of 620 Silver and 180 Quest points.” she said and handed us a ticket. “Take this to the rewards counter and they will record everything and make sure you get paid.”
“Thank you,” I said and we headed to the other counter.
We got our money and Eric about had a stroke at the amount. We scanned out badges and it showed that we had 330 Quest points now and could take the advancement test, but that would have to wait for another time. I still had half of my Vasol and Maltha leaves, but we had no more corpses on us, I didn’t like carrying them around, but it was nice that they were worth a lot.
We needed to find class trainers, but first I rented a room in the dorm. It was 1 silver a night, so I booked it for a week. That should give us enough time to do anything we needed in town then we would head back out to the wild to level and gather quest materials. We needed strength, and staying in this town wouldn’t help us.
We took turns in the shower while the cool down on my skill was resetting. Once we were both clean we headed out to look for some armor and weapons to help us. We found a tailor shop next to the mages guild, selling robes. So we went in first.
I looked through the items, but they were all pretty basic from what I could see. I selected one that was made of a deep blue material, and some leggings to match. They were common rank and not enchanted, but it had a hood that would cover my face when I needed it to. I selected a pair of leggings in the same color. Putting them on I smiled as I lifted the hood over my head. Smiling. Putting the leather vest back on over my robe didn’t hamper my movement so I kept it. I put the leggings in my inventory, for now, the leather leggings were better for defense. The robe and leggings cost 75 silver. Leaving we headed into an armor shop next to look for Eric, he traded his leather armor, for some reinforced leather armor. With trading in his old armor, it cost 150 Silver.
I headed into the Mages guild while he headed off to find a rogue trainer. I felt uncomfortable splitting up, but there was not fighting in the city, so as long as he stayed on the main streets he should be fine.
Entering I looked for the Class trainer. I had 316 silver and 78 copper left in my name. Only because I had earned some on my own before. Eric had more than I did saved up. But that was okay, we needed money to get stronger. I found the trainer and she smiled looking at me.
“You’re a new face, are you hear to learn the secrets of magic?”
“Yes, I have some knowledge, but lack skill,” I said.
“So humble, unusual for a mage. Come we will test you,” she said leading me into a room filled with books. Then through another door to a courtyard. “Attack the test dummy, preferably with a spell if you know one.”
I launched an Arcane Bolt at the dummy and watched it shake but it wasn’t destroyed. My eyes widened in shock.
“That was an impressive spell, and you do have some knowledge about magic. The fee to join the mages guild is 2 gold a year if you wish to join. But unlocking your class I will do for 50 Silver.”
I handed over 50 Silver and she placed a hand on my head and knowledge flooded into me.

Earth Spear 10 Skill points to unlock

“What does Earth spear mean when it says damage based on damage to an opponent?” I asked.
“Simple, if it pierces someone's head, odds are they are going to die instantly, but if it pierces their foot it won't do as much to hurt them, though then it would hobble them,” she explained.
“Good point, so it is a good one to use if the opponent doesn't know you are there,” I said.
“Yes, that is accurate,” she informed me.
I added Icy wind and Earth Spear to my spell list. Which unlocked Water and Earth magic. I also unlocked Arcane magic, it was at Beginner rank 5 like my arcane magic spell. And I received a notification.
Class Wizard unlocked
Because you have unlocked your class, you have become a wizard, your experience with your racial magic, Arcane bolt has unlocked the Arcane magic skill.
Due to advance use, the skill has been leveled up, please select perk for reaching the beginner rank.
Arcane Damage increase 5%
Reduce mana cost for Arcane spells 5%
I chose to reduce the mana cost, and the skill finished leveling up the last four levels making it beginner rank 5, and it reduced the mana cost by 5.5%. Overall that only helped my arcane spells, but seeing as it was my most used spell it was worth it. Icy wind was going to be easy to level I could just sit there and use it continuously. Though I would have to make sure my mana recovery speed kept up with it, I haven't seen any problems with it.
Being level 24, I could level skills to proficient rank 4. Except for the ones gifted to me by the goddess they did not seem to be attached to my level.
“When you reach level 40, come back and we can unlock the next tier Mage, then you will be fully accepted by the mages guild and it will only cost 1 Gold a year to join us.” she said, “If you wish to buy spells you may browse the store, but you can only by spells for magic schools you have unlocked.”
“Thank you,” I said and moved away, I would browse the shop for now, unless there was a spell I had to own.
Of the Magics I knew of from Etis online, there was Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Lightning, Arcane, Light, Dark, Life, and Necromancy. Arcane was the hardest to learn, usually because it was the basis for all magic. And few living beings had a defense against it. Leaving the guild I found Eric standing there smiling.
“Did you find a trainer?”
“I did, I am now an apprentice rouge, at 40 I go back to get the rouge rank up.”
“I’m a wizard, I have to come back at 40 to become a mage,” I said and sighed. “Let's head back to the guild and rest for a couple of days. We can run errands if we need to, though I should get more vials, so I can make more potions.”
“We still have 6 days for our rental of the room. We will stay here for that time, then head into the wilderness again and we will work on leveling up. When we come back then we can take the advancement exam.” Eric said as we headed back to our room.
Looking back I had an uneasy feeling that someone was watching us. But there was no one there I could see.
