Rain landed on a radio tower fixed on the tallest building. He leaned against the tower folding his arms across his chest. He stood there for about 30 minutes before he heard a voice behind him. "What's up Rain-drop?" A girl with twisted short hair landed on the tower behind him.
He glared bitterly at her, "Why are you here Wind?" he growled at her. She frowned and swung out in front of him.
"Awe, don't be like that, I thought you liked me" she pouted at him pulling a puppy face. "It's been so long since I last saw you after all, two weeks is forever!" Rain continued to scowl at her not budging a single inch. "Fine, straight to the point. I just want to hang out with my little Rain-drop." She swirled around the tower as she talked. "Don't you want to play pranks on the humans, just like old times?"
"Old times?" he shook his head, "I won't ask you again Wind, What are you doing here. Storm promised I would be alone." She sneered at him,
"Storm didn't say anything about that, and if he didn't tell me what to do I can do what I want and you have to follow along. Don't forget that my sweet little dew-drop" His face dropped to a frown, he turned away from her looking towards the ground. She began to baby him, cradling his head in her arms, "I'm sorry, don't be upset with me, I wouldn't take away your big day on your own. I'm here for a couple of reasons but I won't be staying." she lifted his chin to look him in the eyes. "First, I want to remind you, absolutely no interactions with humans...besides the anonymous pranks of course. Second, Storm has some instructions for how the rain should fall." Rain seemed disappointed about this piece of information, "don't worry you still get to chose how it falls, he just wants you to keep it constant. It can be heavy, light, a mixture, whatever, as long as it doesn't stop raining."
She stopped talking for a moment and stared at the horizon. "Is that all? If it is I'd appreciate it if you left, I only have a few more hours on my own."
"Oh shush you. That's the third thing. Storm wants you to save up the worst of the rain for when he arrives. Last but not least, Storm has decided to to let you be on your own for an entire week. Isn't that nice?" Rain looked up surprised at this news but still trying to act upset. "Storm is so nice isn't he, just make sure not to mess this up Rain, if you do well, we might let you solo more often." She tousled his hair a bit "I know you can do this little Rain-drop, good luck and have fun!" She dashed off in a gust of wind heading away from the town.
Rain stood there a moment longer making sure she had completely left. After about 20 minutes he sighed finally relaxing. "Well that wasn't as bad as it could have been...though I wish I had been able to stay with her longer." He took a deep breath and stretched his arms out into the rain. "A whole week, I guess I can make up for lost time...now?!" He looked down at the city excitedly. He stepped off of the tower and slowly descended into the streets.
