"Zero is...a vampire?!" Yuki asked in her mind still not believing it, no, she did not want to believe it. Back in the Headmaster's office, Kaname had smelled the blood and immediately rushed to them. "Kaname-kun?!" Kaine abruptly stood up from his seat, but Kaname had gone already. Zero turned his head as soon as he heard a footstep. Scarlet also turned her head and her eyes widen slightly before she looked away and stayed silent behind Zero. "K-Kaname-senpai?!" Yuki called out as she turned to look at him who was coming from downstairs. "So, out of carving for blood has turned you into a beast, huh, Zero Kiryu." He stated as he walked up to Yuki and stood in front of her facing Zero. Yuki looked up at him from behind and recalled a memory from the past where Kaname had killed a vampire. "Zero will be killed." She thought in her mind and quickly moved to stop Kaname, only to slowly fall to Zero as she lost consciousness. "Yuki?" Zero called out looking at her worriedly as he caught her. "You sucked a disgusting amount of blood, huh? So much that Yuki can't even stand." Kaname walked up to him and took her in his arms, bridal style. "Was Yuki's blood that delicious?" He asked looking at him straight in the eyes, and he knew that Zero was feeling really guilty over it as it was clearly seen on his face. "Kaname...senpai... I guess it's better to bring Yuki to the infirmary soon." Scarlet spoke up as trying to ease the tension in the air, even though she knew it would not work. So she dared not try to look at him as she suggested that. Kaname just took a look at her once before he walked away without saying anything to her. "Headmaster..." He simply said as he passed by him on the downstairs. "Yeah, I understand..." Kaien simply replied as he corrected his glasses and looked up to Zero and Scarlet. "Come, Zero, I'll help you clean up." Scarlet said after she took a glance at the Headmaster. She pulled him as he seemed to not moving at all.
At the infirmary, Kaname was treating Yuki as she had woken up, only until Kaien had told him to return to the Moon Dormitory as the night class students are agitating with the smell of blood. Kaien then explained to Yuki what had happened to Zero, only making her felt guilty, especially to what she had said to him. "A beast in the human form." She felt a pang in her heart at how she had been so cruel to him without even knowing anything about him. Then after she had finished been treated, Kaien had returned to his office while Yuki had walked back to the stairs only to feel even guiltier. Then she walked back and upon passing the Headmaster's office, she could hear Kaname was talking to Kaien about Zero's transferring to night class.
While in Zero's room, Scarlet had been helping him with drying his hair with the towel after he had taken a bath. She spoke something to him before she got out of his room. She walked, and walked, without even knowing where to go. She just did not feel like returning to her room for now after all that had happened that day. She just needed some fresh air. So, she ended up being on top of the roof. She laid down on the roof, looking up at the dark sky which only brightened up with the moonlight as there seemed to be no stars that night. She did not mind, though, as she loved the moon more than the stars. She just stayed there, enjoying the breeze. Closing her eyes, she was about to fall asleep when she heard someone coming.
"What're you doing here?" The intruder asked. "Why are you here?" She asked back without looking at who he was after all she had known him all too well. "Am I not allowed to?" He asked back again as he made his way to her and sat beside her. "You've even already seated yourself, why need to ask anymore?" She sighed and opened her eyes to look at him still with her emotionless face. Then she sat up and leaned her forehead on her knees which she pulled up into a hug with her arms. "Are you alright?" She heard him asked. "Are you not asking the wrong person?" She asked back again as her reply. Knowing well who she meant, he answered, "I've taken care of her, remember?" Scarlet just hummed as her reply. "So, are you alright?" He asked again, with a little emphasis on the word you. "I'm not hurt. I didn't get any scratch on me. So, why would you ask me that, Kaname-senpai?" She turned her head to look at him still not showing any emotion. "You just didn't look like yourself." He simply answered, and he could see her head was tilted slightly so he continued, "I can still tell even when you're wearing that mask of yours, you know. Remember I'm a vampire?" She looked at him for a while before burying her face on her knees again. "I'm all fine. Perhaps just a little tired." She finally answered. "Somehow you are always tired." He commented remembering her exact same answers the night before. Scarlet did not reply. "Maybe you should take a break from your guardian duty?" He suggested. "Which guardian duty are you talking about?" She whispered under her breath very lowly and she knew that even Kaname could not even hear that and she knew he was turning to look at her. "What is it?" He asked as she expected. "No, I said that it might be a good idea." She lied. "I think maybe tomorrow I'll have to take a break all day long." She said raising her head now to look up at the sky.
Kaname looked at her frowning slightly in worry. "Are you sure you're alright?" He asked once again to make sure. "Yeah?" She tilted her head to the side as she looked at him, wearing her stoic face on. "Well, if you say so then." He sighed giving up already as he looked to nowhere else. Scarlet turned her head to look to nowhere particular as well as she spoke up, "I'm sorry I wasn't on time." She mumbled but knew Kaname could catch that one. "What do you mean?" He asked even though knowing well what she meant. "You know what I mean." And she bluntly said it out loud.
"So that was why you looked like that before?" He asked turning to look at her again but still saw no emotion in her. "I didn't blame you, though." He added before she could even comment on his sentence before. "But isn't that part of my duty?" She mumbled again still not looking at him, instead, she was looking somewhere far away. "Why do you think like that?" He asked completely confused by his companion. "Well, didn't you suggest me to become a vampire hunter back then to..." She did not finish as she touched one of her weapons attached to her thighs. "Never mind." She decided to drop the topic as she turned to look away from him and dropped her hand limply.
Kaname was definitely confused with her and before he could speak, she beat him to it. "Maybe you should return to the Moon Dormitory now, Kaname-senpai. Some of the students are still agitating from the smell of blood." She simply said returning to her emotionless face. Kaname just could sigh before he stood up. "What about you? Do you want me to walk you back t-" He was cut off again by Scarlet. Seriously, she was the only one who dared to do that to him. "I'll be heading to the Headmaster's office to ask for permission for tomorrow after this. So, thank you for the over, Kaname-senpai, but no, thanks." She stood up and bowed to him. Kaname watched her before he decided that she was too stubborn for her own good so he just walked away to return to the Moon Dormitory after bidding her a good night.

The next day, as Scarlet had said the night before, she was taking a day off for that day. "It sure was a pain to explain to the Headmaster, though." She thought in her mind as she sighed. She had asked for permission for a day off last night to the headmaster, but it was no easy task, as he had thought that something had happened to her. Well, it was not like anything really happened to her, but it was not like there was nothing had happened to her, either. So, she was not so sure. Either way, she was just glad that she would get a day off just to herself for today.
So, Scarlet wasted no time and had headed off to the city. Even though she had asked permission for a day off as a guardian, she still brought her weapons with her. After all, she would never ever leave her weapons alone, no matter what happened. The more so when she had planned to have her day off to hunt down all the Level E vampires just to improve her skills. That was the only reason she would agree to take a day off from her guardian duty. After all, she too had been too fed up those days, that she had to pent up her stress somewhere, and the town was the right answer.
Not so long after she was walking down the path to the town, Scarlet had encountered some Level E vampires, and she had killed them with ease. "Maybe somewhere deeper... Darker..." She muttered to herself as she walked down a smaller path leading to an abandoned district. "This might be the right spot." She mumbled again as she looked around. Then her sense had picked up something and she quickly turned away. She already found a group of Level E Vampires, and before she knew it, she was surrounded. "Bingo!" She said as her eyebrows furrowed together. She clutched her two swords tightly, readying herself to fight the monsters.
When one of them came to her, she quickly swung her Amaterasu and quickly slashed it down. The first one turned into dust. The other Level E Vampires looked at each other, and as in cue, they all attacked her altogether. Scarlet kept on swinging her swords, slashing them one by one. More Level E Vampires joined in and Scarlet clicked her tongue. "Can't wait for your turn I guess?" She asked to no one in particular as she kept on fighting the beasts.
After some minutes, dozens of them have been turned to dust already, but there were still lots of them. "I guess... This is really... Your hideout, huh...?" She spoke between her panting, as she started to lose some stamina. After all, she had fought dozens of them for some minutes already. She was good enough to have only some scraps on her. Maybe the smell of her blood that had brought more of them to her, though. "Come... I'm not done with you guys either!" She said as she provoked them by licking her own blood, and more of the Level E Vampires rushed at her.
Scarlet kept on swinging her swords, kicking some of them, slashing, and even stabbing more of the Level E Vampire. Her sword dance was completed with a rain of blood around her, and soon, the floor was covered with dust. Just as she was about to finish the last level E vampire, her stamina ran out, and her leg gave in. "Damn!" She cursed as she fell, and the level E vampire quickly took the chance to rush at her. Scarlet readied her swords but her grip was too weak that the beast was able to throw it away. It then grabbed Scarlet and raised her up by her neck. "Ugh...!" Scarlet grunted in pain as its rash hand grabbed at her harshly, and suffocating her. "Now... Why do I feel this is so familiar...?" Her mind spoke up as a flash of image went slightly to her head. An image of a little girl, being held up like that, and then, a pair of cold stuff on her neck, exactly as how she felt right now. Scarlet had closed her eyes, as more image flew by. "Who's that?" She asked in her mind. The fangs got closer to her neck, and the same happened to the little girl. The little girl closed her eyes too and then...
Scarlet flew her eyes open quickly and kicked the level E vampire away far from her. She fell to the ground and coughed and panted at the same time. "Ugh... This gonna leave a bruise..." She said between her coughs. Then she quickly took her Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi and killed the last Level E Vampire. The last image playing on her head had woken her up since it was too scary. It almost seemed like her nightmare she would always have.
Scarlet then sighed as she sheathed her dual swords back to their sheaths after seeing no more level e vampires were left behind. She then walked limply back to the town. "Ah... I don't think I can take the usual path looking like this..." She muttered to herself as she looked at how she was covered in blood and dust. "Must look... for... another..." Her words slowly turned lower and it disappeared along with her vision and energy, as she fell to the ground. "...path..." That was the last word she said as her vision blackened and her body hit the hard ground. Unknown to her, someone had been watching her from afar.
