"Burn down the beast!

"Burn down the monster!"

"Burn down the Vampires!"

"Mother, where's father?" A little girl asked the older woman as she looked up to her wondering. The older woman looked down at her daughter and gave her a sad smile. "Don't worry, dear, we will be saved here. Your father, he is out there protecting us." The answer confused the little girl, but she asked no more.
Then, she saw her father returning, all tattered, and messy. "Father, what happened?" The little girl asked worriedly. "Don't worry, dear... Everything will be fine. You'll be safe here with your mother." Then he kissed her forehead before leaving them again after giving the last kiss to his beloved wife.
Some minutes later... Another people broke into their room. The old woman quickly ushered her daughter to hide. The little girl was too scared but listened to her mother. They caught her mother. She was terrified. Then, she felt like she was picked up, and cold steel was pointed to her heart, the same as what she saw happening to her mother. She screamed out calling out to her mother. Crying in the top of her lungs until she fainted. The last thing she remembered was her mother tearing up the same as her, calling out her name. Then, someone came, she did not know who, as she had lost consciousness.
...
Some years passed, the little girl had forgotten about the incident. She had forgotten the motherly love her mother had ever given to her, for now, her mother had turned to be a different person. She was the Queen, and she was a Princess. She was to listen to her mother's, no, the Queen's order, no matter what it is. Even if it means her to carry the cross over her shoulder.

Some days passed after the incident. Scarlet was awoken by the bright sun shining through her window which had been forgotten to be covered by the curtain the night she had been watching over the moon. "That dream again..." Scarlet sighed as she got up from her bed, but was surprised to find that someone was also on her bed. She blinked once, then twice, then thrice before she opened her mouth. "What are you doing here... Luna?" She asked with her expressionless face.
"Aww, you're no fun~" Luna said as she got up from her bed too. "I came here to wake you up!" She gleefully said as she pulled her up from the bed. "I see..." Scarlet replied simply, dumbfounded. "No, wait I mean... This is..." She turned to look out of the window to make sure. "Yeah, this is morning. The sun is up. How can you?" She asked, not needing to finish the question as she knew Luna would get what she meant.
"Well, it was nothing unusual, right~? But well, I still used an umbrella to cover myself up, so yeah~ Easy peacey~" She answered grinning gleefully again. Scarlet sighed. She sure could not handle someone like her. "Let me get ready first then." She just said in the end. "Get ready for what? Today is weekend~" Luna reminded. "Oh." Now Scarlet just remembered. "OK, but I still need to brush my teeth and take a shower first." She said turning to look at her. "You, don't go anywhere." She sternly said. "Aye, aye~ sire~!" Luna answered playfully.
Scarlet sighed again before leaving her to the bathroom. While showering, she had been thinking about why would Luna ever came to her room. Nothing came except for one reason. She sighed again and got out of the bathroom once she finished showering. "So, why are you here?" She asked as soon as she was out, already wearing her uniform. "Hmm~? Of course, for, your, B-L-O-O-D~!" Luna admitted innocently.
"I thought so... But." Scarlet began. "Did Kaname-senpai not tell you about the rules in the Cross Academy?" She asked again taking some steps back from her just to make sure. "Hmm, he did, indeed. But! It has nothing to do with me~" Luna innocently and ignorantly answered. "Of course it does! You're now a student of this academy! You should follow the rules!" Scarlet grunted sighing desperately. "Now, follow me to the headmaster's office. We should bring you back to the night class dorm." She quickly said and opened the door of her room.
"Boo~!" Luna pouted but followed her anyway. The two soon arrived at the headmaster's room, but he was nowhere to be found. "Lucky~" Luna sang. Scarlet growled lowly. "Let's check the dining room." And so they went to the dining room. But there was no sign of him either. Yuki and Zero who were sitting there already looked very surprised though, especially Zero. "Do not ask." Scarlet warned beforehand as she saw Yuki had opened her mouth and quickly closed it again. "Did any two of you see the headmaster?" She asked.
"No. When we got here, the foods were already prepared and there was a note on the table. Here." Yuki said handing her the note. Scarlet took it and read it. She then sighed. "What a perfect time..." She mumbled. "Ok, I'll pass on the breakfast today. I'll have to bring her back to the night class dorm." She said to the two. "Will you be alright alone?" Yuki asked, concerned. Scarlet nodded. "Don't worry." She simply said before pulling Luna with her again.
"Pull out your umbrella, we'll be going back to the night class dorm." Scarlet said to Luna as she was about to open the door out. "Ehh~? So fast? Can't I stay a bit longer? Or maybe we can hang out somewhere?" Luna asked, but still got her umbrella ready. For some reason, she was quite obedient. "No, we can't. You better rest in the day, and don't trouble the dorm head too." Scarlet said as she stepped outside the dorm. Luna watched her standing directly under the sun for a while before she joined in with her umbrella already opened. Scarlet did not miss how she somehow looked quite sad for a while, though.
The two then made their way back to the night class dorm. "So, Luna." Scarlet began. "Why are you getting, uh... clingy... to me?" She was unsure whether that was the correct word, but she felt like it was. "I mean, we just met some days ago. It's not like we knew each other even before that, right?" Scarlet added turning to look at her, but still looking emotionless. "and even if we had, I doubt I would not mind her being so clingy, it was still somewhat uncomfortable for me." She added, but only on her mind.
"Am I disturbing you?" Luna asked back looking straight at her. Somehow she could see that she looked somewhat hurt, and sad, and a hint of loneliness, perhaps, Scarlet was unsure. Then she was unsure about how to answer her direct question. She then sighed, "Well, it's not really disturbing me, but-" Before she could continue, though, Luna had beamed at her again. "Really?! It's not disturbing you??" She asked seeming gleeful again. "Eh...? Uh... Yeah, I guess...?" Scarlet was taken aback again. She sure knew how to threw her off her usual state.
Luna then hugged her tightly and said, "I love you~!" Scarlet blinked. "Okay... I sure was not expecting that! Can even one time drinking my blood make vampires fall in love with me?! Wait! Does that mean that Hanabusa-senpai was acting like that all that time to me, was also because...." Now Scarlet's mind was running wild because of the sudden confession thrown to her by Luna. "...let? ... Scarlet?!" Luna called her name, bringing her sense back.
"Oh, sorry... Did you say something?" Scarlet asked. "Oh, no no. It's just that we have arrived." Luna informed her as they had arrived in front of the gate of the night class dorm. "Want to come inside for a visit?" She offered. "Huh? Uh, no thanks I guess." Scarlet politely declined, but Luna had taken her hand and pulled her inside. "Oh, come on! Just for a while~" Scarlet then passed the gate with Luna, passing the gatekeeper who she still thought was kind of scary. Thankfully she was wearing her armband, or she would not be able to pass for sure.
Then, before she knew it, she was already inside the dorm. "I'm back~" Luna sang. Scarlet sighed. "Well, I think everyone is still sleeping, so I should head back before..." Her words were stopped as she heard footsteps. She moved her head up to look at who was coming, and of course, it was none other than the dorm's head. "Kaname-senpai. Good morning." She greeted bowing her head slightly, unsure whether she should stay even another second longer.
"Good morning, Scarlet. What are you doing here, though?" Kaname asked as he made his way down to her. "I'm just bringing Luna back to the dorm. I was about to leave when we reached the gate, but she brought me in." Scarlet sighed, telling him the truth, after all, it did her nothing if she lied too anyway. "Well, everyone is still asleep now, so you better head back before they're awake." Kaname warned. Scarlet nodded. "I understand. So, well, I'll take my leave now then." But then again she was stopped by Luna. "No, you should stay for a while. After all, they're still asleep~" She chirped gleefully. "No, no... Since they're still asleep I should go back now, before they're awake." Scarlet said emphasizing the before part.
"Owh..." Luna said weakly, feeling dejected. Scarlet sighed again looking at her. Then she turned to look at Kaname, asking for help. Kaname sighed too. "Just for a while. I will make sure they won't come down even after they wake up then. But, only for a while, okay?" Kaname said repeating and emphasizing the last part too. "Really? Is it really ok, Dorm Head Kuran?" Luna asked looking at him with teary eyes. Kaname just turned to look at Scarlet and mouthed to her "Just call me if anything happens." and he left the two, returning to his room.
Scarlet sighed. "So, what should I do here?" She asked, turning to look at Luna, who was looking at her with sparkly eyes. "Uuhh... Wh-what?" Scarlet asked, taken aback. "Nothing~ I'm just happy you would spend your time with me~ even only for a little while~!" She said happily. "Well, I'll prepare some tea then, oh, or would you prefer chocolate?" She asked looking at Scarlet with a smile. "A chocolate then." Scarlet answered looking back at her, with no emotions on her face. But she was aware now with her question. But she brushed it off for now until Luna returned with a glass of hot chocolate and water. "Hmm... Right, I just remembered..." Scarlet muttered in her mind.
"Thank you." She said to Luna as she took a sip of the hot chocolate. "I did not know you guys have chocolate here in night class dorm too. I thought..." She did not finish, because she was reluctant to. "Well, they did not. I was the one who brought it with me." Luna answered anyway. "Oh, do you like chocolate?" She asked again. "Hmm... Not really, but you do, right?" Luna smiled brightly at her. "Huh? Well, yeah, I do. But, how do you know?" She asked even more suspicious of Luna now. "It's a S-E-C-R-E-T~!" Luna answered with her typical style.
Scarlet just stared at her for a while before asking again. "Seriously, who are you actually?" Luna just looked back at her and gave her a smile. "You will know one day, but this is not the time yet~" She just innocently said as she took out her blood tablet box. "Uh... I really don't like it... Can't I just drink your blood again, Scarlet?" She asked looking at her pleadingly. "No." Scarlet answered directly and immediately with her stoic face. "Aww~ too bad..." Luna pouted as she put one tablet into the glass of water and the water turned into red.
Scarlet looked at the tablet as it slowly dissolved into the water. She was now suddenly curious at how it would taste like. But she shook it off. She would never try it and she would never want to even become one who would need to drink it. Since she hated them. But then again, how could she hang out with one of those she hated then? She was unsure herself, but at least, she knew the ones here were not like the bad ones she encountered back then. Maybe that was why she was feeling alright with them? Scarlet pondered again. Then again, why did I hate them in the first place? How did I end up being in that place? Then suddenly a sharp pain flashed on her head.
"Uh..." She grunted slowly. "What's wrong?" She heard Luna asked worriedly. "It's.. nothing." She answered as she touched her head. "O-Okay then..." Luna replied weakly as she was not convinced. Then Scarlet saw her drank the "blood", and saw her fangs. Then she frowned as she remembered something unpleasant. Then her head hurt more, as a memory flashed inside her head. She grunted more, but quietly as she did not want Luna to worry even more. She then stood up abruptly. "Sorry. I think I need to return now." She said without even looking at Luna.
"Huh? So soon? But we haven't done anything..." She said but when she saw her, Luna stopped talking and instead she simply said. "Alright. I'll see you later then." She gave her a small smile, and Scarlet only nodded before she walked to the door and got out of the dorm. She quickly made her way back to her own room as her head was throbbing even more. Kaname who had seen her returned to her room from his own room, got to the living room to meet Luna.
"Who are you exactly?" He asked looking down at her from the stairs. Luna only looked back at him with the same look Kaname was having, a serious, and cold one. "It is not your problem." She simply said before she threw the glass filled with the blood tablet liquid to the floor, and made her way to her own room. "Just make sure none of your men touch her with your filthy hands, you vampires." She added before disappearing to her room. Kaname just stood there looking at the hot chocolate left on the table, before he too returned to his room.
Back to Scarlet's room, she had laid down immediately once she returned to her room. Many pictures flew into her mind, but none of them she recognized. "Who... who are you...?" She grunted as more images came to her mind. "Luna... Who...?" She groaned in pain but had subsided it with her pillow as to not worry the others. "Who... Maya... Luna... Princess..." More and more pain came rushing to her as more images flew to her mind. Unable to stand up to the pain anymore, Scarlet lost her consciousness.
