Spacelords: The Journalist

The Broken Planet: A planet literally broken into fragments of different sizes and the only source of aleph in the galaxy. In the distant past, the planet was the home of a great civilization that exploited the natural substance in it, but this turned into a greed that destroyed their world as they created a machine to reach the core. The machine caused the planet to break, and ashamed of their reckless actions, the natives decided to turn into a more peaceful life and abandoned their technology, leaving behind a legacy for their descendants to use if needed and guarded by the three Protectors. Those that opposed this new lifestyle were exiled, eventually reaching one of Saturn’s moons, whose technological remains prompted the human expedition to the Broken Planet.

Aleph: A coveted substance only present on the Broken Planet, capable of enhancing body and mind, as well as resurrecting the dead, at the cost of one’s nervous system to be visible through walls under high stress. The control over the aleph is the main reason behind the conflict between the factions, who would gain great power if they succeeded.

The Hades Division: One of the three human factions that were part of the Expedition to the Broken Planet. A private army of ex-military forces from Earth led by General Krausher. Krausher is a decorated war hero, but regards himself as a natural leader and wants nothing more but to rule over others. Their troops are the most disciplined and better equipped, resorting to the use of combat technology in their battles.

The Umbra Wardogs: One of the three human factions that were part of the Expedition. A loose coalition of Martian mercenaries & bounty hunters led by General Marmalade, a ruthless criminal mastermind and dealer in narcotics of any kind. Marmalade believes that man hasn’t reached anywhere near his full potential yet and see’s substance abuse as a way to expand the mind and consciousness beyond what is possible. Mutated by their addiction to the substance, its members have mutated and barely resemble human beings in most cases, but in exchange they all have an extraordinary regeneration capability and some even extraordinary abilities that they use in battle.

The Fifth Council: One of the three human factions that were part of the Expedition to the Broken Planet. Augmented cybernetic humans originating from Saturn and its numerous moons who have embraced the amalgamation of human and technology in an effort to create the perfect hybrid. They are lead by the combined minds known as The Fifth Council, and resort to their advanced technology and resistant bodies in battle.

Harec: The leader of the Raiders, who guided his peaceful clan for many years until the humans arrived. They raided Harec’s village, exterminated every living soul, and left him for dead. Harec managed to crawl to a nearby ruined temple to die, but the power of the temple regenerated his body and awoke an inner strength buried deep within; a strength that would drive him to avenge his massacred people. Shortly after, he began to hunt down the invaders and became somewhat insane, collecting mementos from his victims and even two heads. Eventually he decided to recruit people to help him save his planet and expel the humans back to Earth with the technology his ancestors left behind, The Legacy of The Ancient World.

Lycus Dion: Known also as the Eternal Soldier and Intergalactic Son of a Bitch, Lycus Dion is a glib, wild, undisciplined and irreverent individual with a love for alcohol, heavy metal music and violence. Lycus is a fury unleashed in the battlefield, unmistakable thanks to his pale skin, sharp predatorial teeth, red eyes and mane, and the destruction he wreaks behind him in enemy lines. This savage and immortal warrior has taken part in numerous conflicts through the centuries, dating back to the Prussian War of the 1800s, and was captured by the Hades Division after breaking into a secure research facility and touching an alien sphere from the Broken Planet. After absorbing all the aleph contained in the object, he was encountered by Aneska, who defeated and captured him, leading to the Hades Division to bring Lycus along in the expedition as a prisoner. Once on the planet, he was rescued by Harec and his Raiders, who he joined to settle the score with his captors for stealing his music collection.

Konstantin: A former member from the Fifth Council, the Unit Konstantin suffered a malfunction during the travel to the Broken Planet, regaining his free will and his Russian accent. Some time after deployment, Konstantin disobeyed orders and began to help the natives, causing the Hunter Unit Ginebra to be deployed against him. After their encounter, Ginebra gravelly wounded Konstantin and threw him off a cliff, but he survived and managed rebuilt his body and humanity, becoming a pilgrim and eventually joining the Raiders as Harec’s right hand man.

General Krausher: The head of the Hades Division and not a complicated guy. A decorated war hero and respected military leader whose main fear is that his enemies have a bigger one than he does. He’s always accompanied by the mech pilot Aneska, also known as the Scourge of Phobos, from whom he demands excellence on the battlefield.

Murkul: An alien animal whose grease the Fifth Council likes to use on their units.

Elite Corp.: A company whose main revenue source lies in mercenary work from the galaxy's best soldiers. Lycus Dion was a member of the team for a short time, since he was expelled for drinking all the booze by himself.
