White, so white...
I walked inside a cold laboratory room, unable to decode what I was supposed to be looking for.
Why I was looking for something in such a place?
My processor was just a dense glitching fog when I tried uselessly to process the information given by my sensors. They didn’t work correctly and my gyroscope malfunctioned whenever I made a step, which left me confused and dizzy, barely able to stand.
Was I receiving fake data? What happened to the gym? Where was Rampage? Someone had had altered o hacked my systems? It was frustrating. I wasn’t sure about anything, but definitely this was something I had never experienced before.
I was standing in the middle of what seemed like one of the rooms in the laboratory where my owner and I used to work years ago, before the invasion and the mistakes that led us to the world I lived in. Big, white, and very cold... My memory files didn’t match and there was something familiar but at the same time completely off from what I was used to know.
It was quiet.
Yes, it was too quiet.
Normally, a place like this would be very busy, filled with humans working on different experiments and investigations, always accompanied by their civilian grade mechs or robots. However, this one was deprived of human or artificial life of any kind that my sensors could read.
When I managed to get closer, I could saw the holographic where glitching with unrecognizable data, the tubes and other artifacts lied perfectly clean and unused in their tables, and the tools and supplies perfectly distributed in their shelves too.
Was this a new facility? How was it possible?
My head hurt.
I tried to walk and investigate more and see how to get out of there, yet I soon realized how difficult it has become for me to walk without supporting myself with my servos on the wall. I could hardly feel my pedes and make them move, as I wanted to. Dizzy, I took a moment to shake my head and debrief some programs I couldn’t recognize, but the action was futile. One by one, my steps echoed in the walls as I continued with my frame trembling as errors and warnings flooded my HUD in a strange language I couldn’t decode.
I managed to go outside the maddening room only to find myself looking at a long corridor that was as white as the one I’ve just left behind, with doors in both directions, spreading infinitely until my optics couldn’t reach (and that’s much to say). All of them had scratched unreadable numbers in silver plates embedded at one side, and for some reason none seemed the right choice to take and get in. Something inside of me told me to be cautious, to wait. What exactly?

The light flickered.
In the blink of an eye, the walls became a dull gray and for some reason inside my processor, an unrecognizable voice said "run" and so I did.
The lights went in and out from time to time while some loose cables sparked in ruined ceiling and walls, a scenario I did not want to be part of... In panic, my pedes stumbled against the walls, which now were splattered with a mixture of blood, dirt and black oil as there should look after a bloody fight against the creatures that haunted our world. Unidentifiable bodies of many different beings started to appear from nowhere lying all over the place. I didn’t want to look, I didn’t. Yet I fell hard on my front and I was forced to by something stronger than me to observe, and kneel between the slaughter of humans and monsters, staining myself with the mix of their inner lifeblood spread around me, feeling completely frightened and disgusted by it. Everything I was experiencing was illogical, highly illogical.
I wanted to get away!
I screamed.
All of sudden, somehow I found myself trapped in the same place I started: a white room, sat on a tiny-chromed stool with my servos hanging at each side of my frame, clean. Confused, I tried to move, but my frame didn’t answer my commands except by my head, that continued to be in the same foggy state than before. I looked around, trying to find the answers, but this time I was so afraid that I almost feel my core fail when I saw what was in front of me: a human.
I could only fix my optics in his dark eyes; very dark eyes looked at my optic as they were reading my processor. It was unnerving.
Doctor? Scientific? None of the above seemed to fit the clothing she wore. However, a disturbing white shone brighter and brighter as she got closer to me and tried to reach my faceplate with her fine brown hands. My optics went off.
There was nowhere to go. Nowhere to hide.
