Bob's pov
I glared at the piece of paper sitting in front of me on my desk. This was my third piece of paper. I decided to write in pencil this time since I kept making mistakes. But after I write it out I would have to rewrite it in pen or type it up and print it. After Alan left I thought I would be able to focus more but it turns out I was wrong.
I decided to text him maybe somehow I would get ideas while texting him. As I waited for him to reply I looked up online how to start out an introduction to do over a radio show. I knew weird things would pop up like "yo-yo this Mac Daddy!" but I figured I could change the wording once I found a good one to use for school. Humming to myself as I scrolled I heard my door open. I turned my head towards the direction of my door to see my mother was standing there yawning.
"Morning mom." I smiled getting a tired smile back from her.
"Morning honey what are you up to this morning?" she asked walking over to me.
"Oh well, I'm going to be a news reporter um kinda for the school," I mumbled looking down at my phone scrolling as I felt my cheeks get warm.
"That's swell." she chirped and pecked my cheek making me grumble.
"Mooom," I said huffing as she smiled down at me.
"I'm so proud of you. Your father will be happy to hear this too," she said messing up my hair and I huffed but smiled never the less at the thought of my dad.
"So he's coming back from his trip?" I asked putting my phone down on the table giving her my full attention.
"I don't know see for yourself," she said handing me a postcard, the picture was dad on a beach with words on it saying I love and miss you guys, see you both soon.
I smiled rubbing the bubble letters with my thumb. Then I looked at dad who was on the beach doing his signature pose with a huge bright smile and a thumbs up. Mom and dad use to travel all the time because of his job and me being born didn't stop them. I'm glad it didn't because I got to travel with them as long as it wasn't during school.
But if I couldn't travel then mom couldn't. Mom didn't feel comfortable leaving me home alone which I understood her fear and dad agreed. He would stay too if he could but his travels were for his job so he had to go. The house always felt a bit lonely without him but mom and I still had each other.
"How did you two meet again?" I asked to probably the hundredth time already but I always liked seeing mom light up and her other reactions, especially if dad was there to tell the story and listen.
"You ask almost every week." she rolled her eyes with a smile as she sat on my bed.
"False I ask every few months at least." I smiled waiting for her to tell me the story again.
"Still but I will tell you the story if you promise to tell your kids the story of you falling in love too," she said causing my face to turn up.
"Me? Find love? Sorry mom but I'll adopt some grandbabies for you." I said making her huff.
"Honey you will find love and love isn't just for grandbabies even though that would be nice." she hummed seeming to daydream.
"How is anyone going to love a fat pig like me?" slipped from my mouth and I regretted them instantly as my mom's normal go lucky atmosphere was gone and replaced with a cold one with her eyes sharp on me.
"Don't ever call yourself that or anything like it again," she warned.
"It's true." I lowered my head mumbling.
"Are people bullying you?" she snapped.
"No no no mom." I looked up quickly waving my hands around.
"If so I will come to your school and handle it." she glared.
"No mom its fine! Really!" I said sighing.
"If your being bullied no it's not," she argued.
"Mom I'm not being bullied! It's just well I don't really have friends that's all." I said then remembered Alan sighing slightly. "Well, maybe one but I would not have been his friend if that girl never dropped his number."
"Honey me meeting your dad was an accident. Most people don't try to meet friends or lovers." her tone soft and the atmosphere calming down again. "And if your being bullied please let me know." she finished.
"Back to the story please," I mumbled and she sighed.
"Well, I was working on a cruise boat and had to help those on there to find their rooms and serve food with drinks. Wearing heels that day was not a good idea but I forgot my flats." she shook her head to herself. "Your father so happened to be the guy I was serving to and he was in the pool. I tried walking as carefully as possible since the ground was a bit wet." she sighed and I bit back a smile that would only turn to laugh at the part she was coming to. "And well I ended up slipping away and everything fell not just on the floor but the pool too. And I fell into the pool with it."
"Didn't your heels snap?" I laughed a bit picturing the event folding out in front of me.
"Yes they did." she shook her head again. "My hair and make up was ruined. I looked like a clown when your father swam over to save me since I so happened to fall on the deep in." she laughed herself and I smiled listening. "And then we locked eyes and he said I was a pretty Pennywise. That was the beginning of our long lasting love." she sighed with a smile.
"Didn't you glare at him and slap him or something? I remember he either dropped you back in the pool or you did something to make him drop you." I asked.
"Seems like you remember the story better than me." she reached over messing up my hair again causing me to huff while smiling.
"This just gave me an idea on how to start my introduction." I said turning away from her quickly and began to write.
I heard my mom get off my bed and heard her walk over to me. I also felt her presense above me. Plus I could hear her soft breathing.
Good morning everyone, I'm Bob the child of female Pennywise and a hero, weird combination right? Goes to show how two combinations can make something amazing.
I groaned rereading it. Mom seemed to like it though. But I didn't like it really. Instead of throwing it away though I decided to just write another introduction under it. I had to think of something before Monday.
