Pinky-purple ink rested on the ground. Octolings and Octarians waited for an intruder to dare challenge them. What they didn't know was that they did have an intruder...

An male Inkling was crouching down behind some crates. His roller rested next to him as he waited for the right time to attack.

"Are you sure you want to do this, Agent 3?" a female voice echoed through the headset the Inkling was wearing, "Callie and I can do this instead if you don't wanna do this anymore"

"I'll be fine, Marie" Agent 3 replied in a whisper, "but I'm always happy to have your help and support"

"Of course, Agent 3" Marie smiled. "Get ready to attack in a couple of seconds, I'll give the word"

Mason still can't get over that day, even though it's been nearly a year since then. He still can't get over the fact that he single-handily defeated the infamous DJ Octavio and saved Inkopolis from certain doom.

And may I remind you this was all on his own!!!!

Mason hadn't told anyone that he was an agent, not even his older sister. He was also quite surprised that Isla hadn't suspected anything yet...

Maybe it was because she thought that he was always out doing Turf Wars or working Salmon Run, maybe even just going around town with some friends... if he'd actually made any.

And that's what I'll be bringing up next.

Since Mason has been so busy lately with his agency work, he's rarely had any time to make a few new friends in his new home in Inkopolis. 

Many of you will be asking this question right now; "Well, why doesn't he just arrange with Callie and Marie to have some time off and make some friends?"

The thing is.... Mason doesn't see the point in having any friends when you're an agent. How will you explain it them when they find out who you really are? 

Besides, he has Callie and Marie as his friends (sorta...), and that's probably better than anything else. How would you feel being friends with a bunch of famous celebs?

"Now!" Marie's voice echoed down Agent 3's headset.

The next ten seconds happened so fast, Callie and Marie wasn't sure if they'd actually happened.

Agent burst out, swinging a bomb at a group of Octolings who had obviously not seen Agent 3 leap out at them. As the bomb exploded, Agent started rolling towards another group, instantly killing two Octolings who had their backs turned from him.

The Octoling who'd just managed to avoid getting splatted jumped out of the way and started shooting at Agent 3. Well... she would've if she knew where he was. He was hiding in his ink, waiting for her to turn away from her so he could splat the Octoling.

SPLAT!!!!

"Okay Agent 3, that's the last of them" Callie said through the headset. "Go get that stolen Zapfish!"

"How come we missed that one during Octavio's nonsense last year and we haven't know about that until today?" Agent 3 joked.

"Sometimes we miss stuff and there's nothing we can do" Callie replied.

"I see..." Agent 3 said with a smile.

"Just get the Zapfish before reinforcements come!" Marie's extremely loud voice not only echoed down the headset, but through Agent 3's ear canals.

"OW!" Agent 3 groaned, "Jeez, Marie! I'm getting it, I'm getting it!"
