(June’s point of view)
Sister? I looked back and forth as I studied their features. Now that I think about it. They look alike. But someone would have had to point it out for me to notice it. Dr. Rain walked around to the side of the bed. “Your rib is only bruised. You need to take pain meds and take it easy for the next few days but other than that you should have no problem.”
I nodded, “Thank you for helping me.”
“It’s my honor.” She paused for a minute, “No offense but by the way Annett talks about you I was expecting….. well…… more of a goddess.” I turned around to look at Annett. She glared at her sister and blushed lightly, “She is a goddess. But she’s my goddess” I hope that nickname doesn't stick. Suddenly my phone interrupted the conversation. Annett grabbed it off the nightstand and checked the caller id. Her eyes darkened as she scowled. “That girl is delusional if she thinks she has a shot.” I snached the phone from her before she could decline the call.
“Hello?” Annett tightened her hold on me as if she was claiming me.
“Hi, its Sky. Where are you? Wanna take a walk around the park?” I considered my bruised rib. I'll just take some pain meds.
“Sure I'll meet you there in an hour.”
“Great! See you there! Bye sweetie!” Sky chirped excitedly.
“Bye.” I hung up and looked at the Dr. Rain.
“Will it hurt anything if I take a walk?” She shook her head no.
“Most of the pain was from the initial shock. With some pain killers you'll be fine.”
“Great. Thanks.” She checked a pager on her belt when it beeped.
“Sorry but I need to go.” And without another word she was gone. I addressed Annett who was still clutching me to her chest like a teddy bear. “Let go I need to get up.” She shook her head no like a stubborn child. I sighed. Fine. I turned around so I was straddling her lap and kissed her forehead. “Will you let me up now?” I asked sweetly. It was the tone I used when my little sister Kiely was sick or scared. She smiled and dropped her arms. Freedom! I got up ignoring the pain in my side. I slipped my phone into my back pocket and grabbed my coat. Annett grabbed her coat as well. I looked at her pointedly. “What? I go where you go. Besides if that girl and you are friends I should meet her properly.” She gave me that psycho smile. I thought of what happened last time Annett and Sky were in the same room. This is not going to end well.
