No one seemed to want to go first, so I decided to.
"I will." I grabbed a reddish-pink one and sighed. I popped it into my mouth and started to chew.
"What flavour did you get Draco?" Hermione asked.
"Cherry." I smiled and continued to eat that bean.
"Lucky, your turn Gin." Harry had told Ginny and she grabbed a bean from the box. She had grabbed a green one and made a disgusted face as she ate it.
"Bogey!" She then spit out the bean into the bin and we all laughed.
"Alright, Mione. Your turn." I called Hermione by that nickname everyone called her, and she smiled wider than before. She grabbed a bean and started to eat it.
"Ooh! Blueberry!" She looked excited and gave the box to Harry. He sighed and grabbed one and immediately spit it out when he tried it.
"Vomit." He rinsed his mouth out and we all laughed. Harry then pulled out a box of candies that I wasn't familiar with. He was about to eat one when Percy and George came up to the door and opened it. Crap, I was supposed to talk with them after dinner.
"Sorry guys, I got caught up with Bertie Botts. My apologies." I stood up and straightened my pants out.
"No worries. Ooh, I will be taking one when we get back." George commented and pointed to the candies.
"No problem, we'll wait for you guys to come back." Ginny commented as she and Harry proceeded to look outside the window.
"Well, I'm not coming back up, so I'm just going to take mine now and scare mum with it." Everyone laughed as he grabbed a random one and held onto it. We all walked outside and stared at the stars.
"So. Why did you act that way when you were younger?" Percy started and sighed as he looked at the stars.
"Long story or short?"
"Short is fine if you aren't comfortable explaining things." Percy commented and George nodded in agreement.
"Short story then," I sighed and started up again. "it was either I did as my father told me to do, including acting the way I didn't want to, or else he would crucio me or my mother." George and Percy immediately looked at me with shock. I sighed and started to get irritated. It's strange. I'm only comfortable talking to my mother and somewhat Hermione about my feelings. If it's with anyone else, I get annoyed and irritated very quickly.
"Hey, you don't have to say anything else mate. That's all we needed to know." George patted me on the back and I nodded.
"Did you guys want to head back inside?" They nodded, but Percy went up to Molly and ate that candy. I swear I started to hear a cat's meow, and as far as I know, they don't have any cats. I shrugged and when we got back to Ginny's room everyone cheered and we all sat down and started to eat the candy. Harry was about to grab a certain one but he immediately retracted his hand and went for another one. He then grabbed a different one and when he ate it, the noise he made was a lions roar. I jumped a little from where I was sitting and grew worried.
"What the bloody hell is in those candies?" Ginny grabbed one and she started making monkey sounds. I laughed and Hermione then grabbed one and hers was an elephant. This was great! George ended up grabbing the one that makes the cat's meow.
"That's spectacular!" I then grabbed the one Harry was first going for but when he saw what I had picked up he freaked.
"No, not that one!" I had already started chewing on it when steam started coming out of my ears.
"Blimey! Why didn't you tell me!" Everyone was laughing, but the only laugh I heard was Hermione's.
"Accio pumpkin juice!" A glass of juice had entered my hand and I quickly downed it. I gasped for air and laid down on the floor on my back as I calmed down. Merlin, what seriously was in that candy?
"Never go for those again Draco." Hermione was leaning on one of her hands, staring down at me. I smiled at her and nodded. We heard the door open downstairs before closing again.
"They're still here?" I heard an annoyed Weasel and groaned.
"Great Weaselby is back." Everyone was quiet.
"Sorry! Habit." They chuckled and we heard him start climbing up the stairs.
"Accio box." A small one-slot box popped up in my hands, just enough space to hold one candy. I placed one of the ones I ate in there and sealed the box with a bow. I got up and started to walk outside the door, just in time to see him reaching the top of the first staircase.
"Hey, Ron. I really am sorry. I really want you to forgive me. So, I went and got you an expensive delicacy sweet. Please accept it as an apology gift?" I looked desperate, and this was going to go well.
"How do I know you didn't poison it?" He was pissed and I sighed sadly.
"If you don't believe me, you can ask Harry and Hermione. I took them with me to get it while you were gone." I led him to Ginny's room and gave them a look saying 'go with it.'
"Harry, Hermione, please explain to Ron here that you guys went with me to go get this sweet delicacy? He won't believe me." I winked at Hermione and she blushed while looking down for a moment.
"Yeah, Ron, mate we did go with him. The store was great and it was really expensive. Like fifty galleons, was it?" Harry commented and I gave a small and quick smirk.
"Yes, it was Harry. 'Mione, will you also tell him you went with me to get this? I just want him to accept the gift and forgive me." She smiled, but made it look like a sympathetic, yet disapproving.
"Draco, I'm actually really disappointed in you." I did a double take.
"Excuse me?" She stood up and grabbed the small box.
"Yes, you paid for this, but you bought it for me to give to Ronald because I didn't have enough money. Which, thank you, by the way. See, I realized I was mad at you for no reason Ronald, and I really want us to be friends again. Draco also wants you to accept his apology, terribly actually. It's one of the only things he's been talking about since a few days ago when you almost punched him." Hermione paused to take in a breath of air.
"Please, accept our apology, Ronald. I'm sorry for getting angry over nothing, and he's obviously sorry for the past few years." I saw what she was doing. While Ron was looking at the box she had placed in his hands, she winked at me. Merlin, I would never be able to get used to that.
"Yeah, I'm sorry Ron." I gave him a side look and continued to look at Hermione. When Ron cleared his throat I looked over at him, pleading with my eyes.
"Alright. I won't forgive you yet, Malfoy. Cause it will take a while to do that, but I'll try not to punch you whenever I see you." I nodded and he looked at Hermione. She smiled sadly.
"I forgive you too 'Mione. You were angry for nothing." He then unwrapped the box and she looked furious. I rubbed her arm and she smiled somewhat.
"Well, please enjoy it. They only had that one left and the box is so cute." She winked at me again and I swear my legs grew weak. God, this woman truly is the greatest witch of our age, because she has me under the most intoxicating spell she knows.
"Thanks guys." With that, he ate it. And not too long after, the steam was coming out of his ears and he had run downstairs to get something to drink. We had all started laughing and I actually fell to the floor. Hermione had accidentally fallen on me, but we didn't care. We were all excited about the fact that we had tricked Weaselby. Hermione was laughing hard into my chest and I ended up having to put my arms around her. When she had calmed down, she had yawned and laid her head down on my chest and closed her eyes. I smiled and softly rubbed her back. I could tell she was knocked out by the pace of her breathing. I yawned quietly and got up, holding her in my arms. I made sure she was comfortable before getting ready to apparate to her flat. I looked up and George, Harry, and Ginny were giving me knowing looks.
They do know.
"Not a word of this. Please." Ginny gave me a sympathetic smile and nodded.
"Of course. You will be telling her over this school year, right?" Harry commented, getting settled in bed before closing his eyes.
"I mean, I-I want to. I just; I don't think she will feel the same and, and then it'll all be for nothing..." I looked down at her face and sigh and she snuggled closer to me. My heart leaped and the butterflies were going wild.
"What do you feel when you see or speak to her?" George asked from the doorway that he was leaning against.
"I feel, happy. My heart leaps and I get butterflies. Whenever we touch I feel shocks, and I love that she blushes from it. I feel safe when I'm around her." She was already in such a deep sleep, I know she wouldn't be able to hear.
"Then you definitely need to tell her at some point Draco. She needs to know. I'll get stuff out of her, don't worry about that." Ginny commented as she turned out the light and shooed us out of her room. I sighed and said my goodbyes to George and walked down the stairs.
"What happ-"
"It's alright, she's just asleep." Molly sighed in relief and mother gave me a small smile, to which I returned.
"I will see you at the manor darling." I nodded as she said her goodbyes to Arthur and Molly.
"Tonight was a pleasure. I'm sure Hermione would say the same." I started to get embarrassed and after I said my goodbyes, I apparated to her flat and walked into her room. I took off her shoes and placed them at the side of her bed. I then pulled the covers above her and started to walk out when she grabbed my arm.
"Draco?" I smiled.
"Yes?"
"Thank you, for tonight. I had a lot of fun."
"I did as well Hermione. Now sleep well, and I'll meet you at Kings Cross. Okay?"
"Okay." She smiled wider and then closed her eyes and went back to sleep. I closed her door and then apparated back into my room at the manor. I sighed and flopped down onto my bed. I smiled, as I could still smell her perfume on me. I heard a little tap on my door and when I looked up, I saw Ginger.
"Ginger, hello. What brings you here tonight?" I smiled as she jumped onto the bed.
"Master Draco saw his love, Ginger wanted to see how the dinner went." I smiled and she sat down right next to me.
"It was perfect. More perfect than I'd ever imagined."
"Ginger is pleased that Master Draco is happy." She hugged me and then left my room once more. I sighed and turned out my light, falling asleep to the smell and thoughts of Hermione Jean Granger.
