In the very late hours of the night, or early morning hours whichever you prefer, Quinn stood in the shower washing the green paint from her body. She watched as the green tainted water went down the drain. A cold emotionless look on her face.
Roxy was passed out on the futon. Completely naked. The blanket barely covered anything. Her mouth hung open as a light snore escaped her lips every time she exhaled.
When Quinn was clean and done with her shower, she walked naked to the bunker under her living room. Inside she sat in the center of the circle, her wet hair dripping on the floor. For a moment she just sat there, then with a deep breath held out her right arm.
“I am here.” Her voice came out as a whimpered whisper.
Her arm lit up an icy blue and the candle in the hole seemed to catch fire all on its own. The circle around her came off the ground and formed into a dark figure who stood over her. Quinn didn’t even look up at them she just stared at the floor, her arm still outstretched.
A hand made up of pure inky blackness grabbed her by the forearm, causing her mark to turn black. Quinn cried out in pain but stayed sitting still.
“Have you come to realize the error of your ways?” A demonic voice asked.
“I don’t want to do this anymore.” Quinn whimpered.
“I am disappointed. Continue to test my patience and you will see just how cruel I can be.”
The mark on Quinn’s arms spread all over her whole body, burning into her skin. She cried out in pain.
“You have one last chance to give me what I want. Or else.” The voice said.
Then the figure disappeared dropping Quinn’s arm. The markings all over Quinn disappeared all except the ones forever burned into her arm. The candle went out and after Quinn blinked the circle was back on the floor.
Quinn took a shaky breath before standing up. She walked out of the bunker and moved everything back in place, then she walked to her room. She moved the carpet and grabbed the black box, before grabbing the red marker for her desk. She stopped herself from opening the box and looked at her burn scar.
She set the marker down and as soon as she did so her burn mark seemed to spread on its own. Moving past her shoulder blade and down her wrist to her hand. She hissed in pain, biting her tongue to keep in her screams. Then with new found will she grabbed the marker again and opened the box.
Stratus groaned in pain as the sun peaked in through the window.
“Ugh! I hate parties.” Izzy complained putting a pillow over her head.
“Where’s my phone.” Stratus whimpered rubbing her temples.
“Well after you decided to get plastered, I took it from you to prevent you from drunk calling Quinn.” Nevaeh handed it to her.
“Thanks.” She sighed.
“You guys are crazy, I had a great time. Mason and I really connected, and we have a date coming up.”
“Am I the only responsible one here?” Nevaeh asked.
“Yes,” The other three said in unison.
She sighed.
Stratus stared at her phone, no new messages. She sighed.
“Come on we need food and water.” Nevaeh stood up and stretched.
The girls got up and walked downstairs, everyone else in the house had gone out to breakfast with Stratus’s grandmother. Leaving the girls to their own devices. On the fridge was a note from her mom, it read,
Dear Stratus, since you came home so drunk that your friend had to help you upstairs that’s right you’ve guessed it. You are grounded. No allowance for a month and no friends over, or going out after 10:00 PM. Love, mom. P.S. just because you missed your S.A.T doesn’t mean you are getting out of it, I’m rescheduling
Stratus groaned and crumbled the paper tossing it in the trash.
“Busted.” Harley sighed.
“Damn it, this is all Quinn’s fault if she wasn’t such an asshole,” Stratus complained getting some aspirin and handing it to Izzy.
“If you two would just get married already.” Nevaeh rolled her eyes.
“You know what screw her, she wants to go sleeping around with whoever then be my guest.” She huffed.
“You do realize you are the one who turned her down, right?” Harley pointed out.
“Yeah whatever, I’m done with her.”
“Good for you now give me some damn water,” Izzy complained
Nevaeh snickered as she pulled out a plate of eggs and bacon Stratus’s mom left them and warmed it up in the microwave.
“So what’s the plan?” Harley asked sitting at the table.
“We need to go to that Wicca shop,” Stratus grumbled.
“I’ve been thinking.” Neveah sat the plate of food down for everyone before joining them at the table.
“About?” Izzy squinted at her.
“I wasn’t on board with the whole Quinn is a Witch thing but I’m starting to think maybe there is something she’s hiding, something big.”
“Like?” Harley pushed.
“What if Quinn really did kill Alice.”
The girls went silent.
“Think about it, first she lied and said that she was at the cabin. Then she admitted she was with Alice, but they were not that close of friends. Now we find out she lied about that and her and Alice might have been secretly dating or something? She’s been lying every step of the way. Not to mention that the F.B.I. is on her case. People who lie usually turn out to be the guilty ones, you don’t lie unless you are trying to hide something.”
“Wait you really think Quinn could be the killer?” Izzy leaned into the conversation.
“She’s a pathological liar. There is something not right with her. It’s like she can’t even feel emotion, she’s just cold and dead inside.”
“I know why the F.B.I. is watching her.” Stratus finally spoke up.
“You do?” Harley asked.
“She told me, she said it’s because they think that when she was 10 years old that she murdered her sister. They think Quinn is a serial killer.”
“What the hell! And you didn’t tell us because?” Neveah’s eyes went wide.
“Because I don’t think she’s a killer! Hello! I’ve known her for the longest and in the time I’ve known her she hasn’t done one thing, not one, to make me think she’s a killer. I mean until recently she’s just been, Quinn. Letting us use her money however, doing crazy stuff just for fun. Looking at me with that stupid cute side smirk. Sure she’s an asshole most of the time, but a cold-blooded killer?”
“I’m with Stratus on this one,” Harley said.
“I don’t know what to think, but I do agree with Neveah, she’s hiding something. Something big.” Izzy said.
“Let’s just eat our breakfast and go investigate. We need proof of something.” Neveah said.
The girls nodded in agreement.
Quinn woke up next to Roxy, the two were still naked. She groaned at her headache, she hadn’t even drunk much but she felt slightly hungover. She sat up in bed and looked to Roxy. The girl’s mouth was hanging open and she was still dead asleep. Quinn sighed.
Quinn looked at her arm and her burn mark seemed to be the same as it always is. She sighed again. Roxy stirred next to her, closing her mouth and snuggling closer to Quinn. Quinn rolled her eyes before getting up with a disinterested look on her face and stretching.
She walked to her room to get dressed.
Roxy’s eyes opened and she sighed in content until she realized Quinn was no longer by her side, then she frowned and sat up. She looked around the floor for her phone and found it in the pile of her clothes, dead. She sighed.
She heard a light rustling coming from Quinn’s room and smiled. Then walking completely naked she crept up behind Quinn who was only wearing a shirt and underwear now.
“Got ya!” Roxy tackled her in a surprise hug.
Quinn yelped in surprise before quickly pulling free.
“You scared me!” she complained.
“Couldn’t resist.” Roxy smiled.
“The showers over there if you want to use it.” Quinn sighed.
“Care to join me?” Roxy wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.
“I already took a shower.” Quinn pretended not to notice.
“Come on, let’s go again. Nothing better than the morning after sex.” She pouted.
“You still want more sex after last night?”
“What you tired already?” Roxy teased.
“We went at it for hours, yeah I’m tired,” Quinn complained.
“Well let me show you how much energy you have left.” Roxy pulled Quinn into her embrace and nibbled on her ear.
“You are going to work me to the bone aren’t you.” Quinn sighed.
“And then some.” Roxy giggled.
Roxy pulled Quinn out of the room and slammed her against the wall in the hallway. Then she started kissing Quinn’s neck. Quinn sighed in pleasure but it was clear she wasn’t interested. Her face was cold and indifferent, not that Roxy was paying attention to notice.
Quinn grabbed a fist full of Roxy’s hair and forced her to get on her knees in front of her.
“Mmm, I like it rough.” Roxy cooed.
Quinn forced a smile and watched as Roxy got to work.
Stratus and the others found themselves at the old Wicca shop.
“It’s closed.” Harley pouted as they stood by the door.
“No way!” Stratus banged her head against the door.
“Welp we tried.” Izzy sighed.
“We can’t give up, look someone’s coming!” Neveah hissed.
Stratus shot her head up as an old woman came to the door. She recognized her as the same toothless old woman who sold her the candle.
“It’s her!” Stratus said.
“Hello, can I help you?” the woman opened the door.
“Uh, hi, I don’t know if you remember me but you sold me a candle once. I was wondering if we could talk.” Stratus said.
“Who’s there?” a younger voice called.
The girl was slightly older looking possibly 19 or 20. She had long white hair with black tips. She was tallish and thin. Long limbs and dressed like some goth. Black skinny jeans, and a white collared shirt with a black corset, black lipstick, and dark eyeshadow. Her hair was pulled up into a sloppy bun. When she approached them, she let it down and it fell to her lower back. It looked soft and silky to the touch.
“Hi, my name is Stratus.”
The girl narrowed her eyes at the group before she sidestepped and let them in. The older woman looked out the window, her eyes darting around before she locked the door and closed the blinds. Neveah took note and got on guard.
“Where’s Quinn.” The girl asked outright.
“Wait, how do you know Quinn?” Izzy asked.
“You could say we go way back. Is she here? Where is she?”
“She’s not with us.” Harley quickly added.
“Aw, so you are going behind her back.” The girl smirked.
The same signature side smirk that Quinn always gives. All the girls took note.
“Maybe this was a bad idea.” Stratus backed away.
“Relax, I won’t tell her that you were here.” The girl leaned against the counter.
Izzy looked around and took in the creepy witch shop. Lots of candles and charms filled shelves. It was like they purposely made it creepy to attract young people. The front counter was covered in candles, some even had wax that had dripped over the edge and dried.
“She wants to ask about the candle.” The old woman snickered, talking with a lisp.
“Let me guess, you guys think Witches are real?” the girl teased them.
Her personality was so similar to Quinn’s it was like talking to Quinn. It made them uncomfortable. The girl’s eyes were a light green. They were just as piercing as Quinn’s eyes and they followed the girls every movement.
The girls couldn’t help but feel like they had fallen in a trap, specifically designed for them, by Quinn. No way was Quinn not going to hear about them being there.
“Well, they are.” The girl teased, not waiting for an answer.
“They are all around you. But you don’t have to worry, they are harmless... Unless you piss them off.” The girl walked over to Stratus and whispered the last part in her ear.
“The candle you sold us.” Neveah moved the conversation back on topic.
“What about it? There are tons of candles here, you want one?” the girl asked.
“Is Quinn a witch?” Stratus asked outright, pulling away from the girl.
“Well don’t you already know that answer?” The old woman asked.
“Look you want answers, I’ll give them to you. But it comes at a cost.” The girl said.
“A cost?”
“Quinn is a witch alright, and like every witch, she has her secrets. What I will need you, idiots, to do, is to get me her black box. If you can bring it to me, I will tell you everything you need to know.”
“Black box?” Neveah looked to the other girls.
“She’s hidden it, it looks plain and simple. Ring any bells?”
Harley’s eyes went wide as she remembered the suspicious black box.
“Atta girl, you know what I’m talking about.” The girl’s eyes landed on Harley.
All the girls turned to her.
“I saw it, she told me it had sex toys in it,” Harley said.
The girl laughed at that.
“Still a good liar I see.” She shook her head.
“What’s in the box?” Izzy asked.
“Why don’t you go find out?” The white hair girl challenged. A devious look on her face.
The girls shared uneasy looks.
“One last thing don’t let her catch you. And if she does, don’t tell her about me.” The girl said on a serious note.
“What happens if she catches us?” Harley asked.
The old woman started laughing a big boisterous laugh. Then the white hair girl started laughing. The laughs sounded wicked and sinister, it scared the other girls.
“Let’s get out of here.” Neveah pulled stratus away.
She nodded and all four girls ran out, the haunting laughter following them.
