The academy was beautiful, to say the least. The building walls were cream and it had victorian golden accents at the corners and edges, accompanied by blue tinted windows. There was a garden with paddy green grass and delicate pastel coloured flowers. A path made of stone led to the main entrance of the school.
Sam had a continuous discomfort since the time he entered the academy. There were countless butterflies in his stomach that kept on telling 'Leave this place right now'. Sam tried to wade off the feeling by talking to someone. He turned to Spence, who seemed quite content.
"Um... Spence, are you sure we are doing the right thing?" He questioned.
"Yeah. This is one of the safest places in the world."
"I am getting nervous by thinking about everything. My gut instincts are never wrong." Sam began to fiddle with his fingers.
"Dude, chill. Everything is fine." Spence consoled."
"You are right. I must be overthinking." Sam agreed.
They saw a man standing near the main entrance. He was tall and thin. There was something very unusual about that person but sam could not put a finger upon it. The person walked towards them and everyone stopped walking. He smiled at them, but the smile was nothing less than terrifying. His yellow teeth full of plague could give nightmares to people. Also, when he smiled, his eyebrows arched upward, making him look downright scary.
This person looks like a killer on loose.
"Hello everyone! My name is Adam and I will be your school-guide for the day." He had a sweet tone of voice.
I guess we should never judge a book by its cover. I need to stop overthinking! The person opened the doors and signalled something to the person standing in the corner of the massive room. All the students of the school gathered near the entrance, to welcome their new fellow mates. Their uniforms were clean and ironed. The boys wore cream shirts and cream pants with golden brocade, like the theme of the school. The girls wore navy blue cotton dresses with pink ties.
They all showcased warm smiles on their faces and displayed gentle gestures, like elite people of the society. After all, they all belonged to the high-class society. Only rich people attended this school until now. A boy from that group walked towards them.
"Welcome to the Bright Leaders Academy. I'm Richard, The Student Council President. I hope you all have a good time here," He said.
"Now, we will take you all to your dorms. You can rest today and join your classes tomorrow onwards," The instructor stated.
He walked ahead of the group and everyone follow. They were lead to a locked door with card access. He swiped his card and the locks clicked. The door opened inwards to a darker place.
Why is it dark?
"Don't worry my children, the lights are automatic and will switch on once you enter the room." He assured, once again flashing the creepy smile of his.
Am I prone to telepathy?
As soon as everyone entered the room, the lights switched on one by one. It became a brighter place. Sam could see everything now. The place was carpeted with red fabric and each of the dorms' room was made with oak wood and was coated with a heavy layer of varnish. Every room had a piece of paper stuck to it with the names of two students who joined in with him.
Why does it look temporary?
"Bond! I was searching for you for such a long time." Someone yelled within the crowd.
Sam turned back to see what was going on. It was a boy, about his age walking towards the stranger. He seemed quite different compared to the stranger. His dark brown hair, brown eyes made him stand out. The stranger had blonde hair and blue eyes. The only similar thing was their Asian features.
"Where... had...you... gone?" The brown haired person questioned between each heavy breath.
"I lost track of your whereabouts. I'm sorry Pin." Bond replied.
"At least you should have called me."
"My phone's battery died." Bond smiled.
Wow! This guy knows how to smile.
Even if they looked different, the two people seemed to know each other for a long time. They almost seemed like best friends. It is because they were.
"Sam, can you please stop staring at random people?" Spence tapped Sam's shoulder.
"Yeah... I was not even staring... at them." Sam rubbed the back of his head.
"Bro, I saw you now. You were smiling also."
"I was?" Sam questioned.
"Yeah, It was kind of creepy," Spence answered.
The guide led each of the students into their respective rooms. Each person had a partner along with him. They had divided the rooms on the basis of the country where they came from. Sam followed Bond and Pin to see which country they were from. They entered the dorm with a tiny Thai flag attached to the nameplate. As for Sam and Spence, they entered the one with the Indian flag and slogged upon the beds.
"All students please report to the classrooms at 8:30 a.m sharp." Someone announced on the P.A system.
Seems like there is a lot to know about here.
With that, Sam delved into a deep sleep, unaware of what was going to happen next.
