Jordan is left confused as Nathan rushes out of the lecture hall. “I hope he's okay...” he thinks to himself, scratching his head.
He knows that Nathan is definitely shocked by Queen Camelia’s speech but he feels like there was something else in the way Nathan looked at him… or maybe he’s just overthinking all this.
“I definitely am,” he silently concludes, making his way out of the Technology Center.
Trying his best to ignore his scattered thoughts, Jordan starts walking to the university’s golf course; being one of the university’s best golfers requires a lot of practice.

Jordan Florus Martenis was born on the twentieth of May, M.E. 745 in Insomnia, the capital city of the Kingdom of Lucis. According to his parents, there wasn’t anything out of the ordinary when he was born. Jordan's childhood was quite uneventful until a few days before his eleventh birthday: he remembers attending a ceremony celebrating an armistice that was signed between the Allied Forces and Niflheim. Little did he know it would have far-reaching effects later in his life...
His parents also noticed that he had a natural aptitude for golf even when he was still young. Deciding that it could be important for his future, his parents enrolled him in golfing courses and he continued to improve throughout his childhood. Jordan became a socialite when he entered middle school, somehow convincing everyone that he was related to the crown prince. As he grew, he became increasingly more attractive but not too attractive; cute but not too cute. Even after revealing the truth about his family, a few girls had tried asking him out in high school but he was completely oblivious, preferring to hang out with his friends. Unfortunately for Nathan (even at the age of twenty), Jordan is still oblivious to his own appearance and probably more oblivious about Nathan’s obvious crush on him.
His parents, Balder Martenis and Beatrix Silvius, always expected him to serve in the Crownsguard, Lucis’ remaining military force after the Lucian Armed Forces were dissolved approximately one hundred and fifty years ago due to a mysterious incident. After all, his parents and even his grandparents had served it. Both Balder and Beatrix held respected positions in the Crownsguard and were convinced that Jordan would have no other option but to join the ranks and continue the family’s legacy. Before he was to graduate high school, he received an invitation to join the Crownsguard from its commander, Gladiolus Amicitia. Even though he had been awarded this great honor, Jordan rejected it and informed his parents that he would instead help Lucis through more peaceful means.
Understandably, his parents did not approve of his decision and Jordan was forced to leave his home in Insomnia. He was completely devastated. Boarding a passenger vessel to the Kingdom of Accordo just a few days after his nineteenth birthday was not how he would have celebrated it. After spending a few months in its capital Altissia, he got accepted into the University of Accordo at Primalupo on a full scholarship to the world-renowned institute after demonstrating his ability in golf and his natural creativity; a remarkable combination.

Three hours of practice later, Jordan sluggishly makes his way to his car from the university’s on-site golf course. It’s a four-minute drive to his apartment, one that he had taken so many times that he could have been blindfolded and still arrive in front of the white, contemporary-styled building facing Lake Claustra. He gets out of his car, a seven-year-old black sedan, and checks his watch: 6:00 PM.
“Guess I got time to kill,” he ponders aloud, opening the car's door.
Gathering his things, he walks inside the building, greets the concierge, and gets into the elevator. Once the elevator doors are shut, Jordan decides to call Nathan. He pulls out his phone before realizing he doesn’t have Nathan's number.
“Damn it."
As he waits for the elevator to reach the fourth floor, Jordan can’t help thinking why he’s wasting his time caring about Nathan considering he only remembers having a few serious conversations with him; one of them being earlier in the day. Nevertheless, he promises that he would make sure Nathan is alright the next time he sees him. The elevator softly dings, signaling its arrival on the fourth floor. Jordan saunters out of the elevator and heads towards his own suite.
Despite the fact that he doesn’t own a particularly new car, Jordan’s parents had given him a substantial amount of money when he set off for Accordo more than a year ago. He had used a majority of it to purchase the apartment suite where he is currently staying. However, due to a golfing accident he had a few months ago, he started saving some of it for emergency situations. One left turn later, Jordan reaches his suite. He quickly unlocks the door before immediately proceeding to lay his things down haphazardly on the floor.
“Guess I’m more tired than I thought." It doesn’t take long for him to fall asleep on his beige, leather sofa.
When Jordan wakes up, it’s 8:21 PM. For a reason unbeknownst to him, he decides to find a restaurant near to the university instead of preparing something on his own like he usually does.
As he nears the university’s grounds, he notices Nathan walking out of the Axium Café and decides that now is the perfect time to make sure Nathan was fine, “Hey Nathan! Do you need a ride?”
