"All students are requested to queue near the entrance of the dorm." Someone announced on the P.A system, waking up everyone in the dorm.
"Sam! Wake up. We have to go." Spence pulled out the pillow under Sam's head.
Sam sat upright and stared right into Spence's pitch black eyes, which seemed to stare at his soul. He parted his hair and gelled it, making him look like a fine gentleman. He had caked up a thick layer of foundation on his face, which had cracks everywhere. It manifested his lack of knowledge about makeup. The best thing was the prestigious cream and gold uniform, wearing which was the The dream of every student on the planet.
"Why the hell have you put foundation on your face?!" Sam exclaimed.
"It was in the rule book, to make every student look presentable." Spence answered.
"The rule book?"
"Yes. There is one on the table." Spence walked towards the table and picked up a thick book.
"So many rules?"
"Yes. Read them when you get time. Now hurry up before the dorm doors lock again."
Sam immediately got up and headed to his wardrobe, where he found his new uniform ironed and cleaned. He wore it and headed to the door. Spence pulled him back by his collar.
"What the hell is wrong?" Sam questioned, as he straightened his collar.
Spence took out a tube of hair gel and rubbed a mound of it onto Sam's hair. Sam straightened his hair with a comb and parted it. He took extra effort and applied fine powder on his face.
After that, they both left their room and headed to the dorm's exit. Everyone was already waiting there. The instructor was along with them. He welcome Sam and Spence with his creepy smile and led them outside the room, to their respective classrooms. Sam, Spence, Bond and Pin were in the same class, class '2-F'.
The class was an enormous one with a beautiful infrastructure. The blue tinted windows complemented the wood desks and cream colored walls with golden ceiling extensions. The student seemed cordial and welcomed them with a warm smile. The teacher inside the classroom called them up for their introduction. Sam was the first one to do so.
"Hello everyone! I am Sam and I came from India. Nice to meet you all!" He exclaimed.
"Hello Sam!" Everyone synchronized.
After the introduction, the students headed towards their seats and sat down on their respective places. The first bell rang and a teacher entered the class.
She had thick-rimmed glass and wide, black eyes.
She looks cruel.
"Today, we will be learning the integral functions."
She took a marker and started scribbling something on the whiteboard. All the students books, except those four. The teacher noticed this and hurled a marker towards them. Spence was her victim. He stood up immediately.
"You! The one beside the person standing. Please tell me the value of log(2)." She pointed towards Sam.
Sam stood up but his feet were shivering. He was tongue-tied and couldn't speak a word. He gathered his courage and gulped. "Um...It is 0.30." He said in a trembling voice.
"Very good! Your answer is wrong. You may leave the class premises," She scoffed.
Sam picked up his bag and left with class, without saying a single world. He stood outside the door for a long time but gave up. He headed towards the canteen, where food was being served.
The aroma of the food was enough to make Sam forget about his bad day. He headed to the counters where there was food. There were cuisines from all countries of the world, including India. Sam was happy to see a pot full of Chicken Vindaloo, his childhood favorite. He took a plate and filled his plate with the vinegar infused spicy curry and plain rice.
Sam saw someone enter the canteen after him. He had blond hair and familiar blue eyes. The person was Bond, the rude stranger. Being a Thai person, he headed to the Thailand section, where he found Pad Thai and filled his plate with it along with sides of Tom Yum salad. He sat right across Sam, plugged his headphones and started to eat. The expressions on his face were unusual. He seemed happy, as if he had craved it for a longtime and couldn't get it.Sam could watch him all day long.
The second bell rang across the hallways and it was break time for students. They rushed at the canteen like hungry dogs. They headed to the food stations and filled up their plates with food. Spence came and sat down beside Sam. He looked at his friend, who was busy staring at Bond.
"Dude, what are you doing?" He waved a hand in front of Sam's eyes.
"Look at him. He has so many problems in life, yet he never fails to smile at Pin. They seem to have such a deep connection."
"Yeah, but I see you are also trying to make connections."
"What the hell? No way!" Sam gushed.
A noise interrupted their quarrel.
"All the new students please head back to your dorms." Some one announced on the P.A system
