"So basically all we have to do it cover the ground in our ink colour and try and get more than the other team to win?" Mason asked.

"Yeah, pretty much" Sophia replied, "Oh, and if you come across someone from the opposite team, you'll have to splat them by hitting them with your ink"

"Oh, this is a bit like being Agent 4" Mason said.

"Well, you'd know that. I haven't even begun my first mission with you yet" Sophia said with a small smile.

Yellow vs Blue

Four Inklings at both spawn points rose into their humanoid forms, ready to battle fiercely for the territory.

'Uh oh!' Mason thought. 'Where's Sophia?'

'Uh oh!' Sophia thought. 'Where's Mason?'

Mason was in Team Blue, but Sophia was in Team Yellow. They were against each other! How was Sophia going to give tips to Mason through the match if they were both on opposite teams?

Ready?

GO!

'Ok, this shouldn't be too hard' Mason thought, 'all if gotta do is ink more ground than Sophia's team, avoid the green team and stay clear of Sophia. Who knows what she'll do when she stops me!'

But sure enough, Sophia found him the second he finished thinking to himself and without thinking twice, splatted Mason with her quick snipes.

Mason respawned about five seconds later, knowing that if he was going to win, he had to defeat Sophia first. But he had to find him first, and they were on Blackbelly Skatepark; one of the biggest stages ever!

But before Mason could think any further, he noticed something; an Inkling girl standing on the tower in the middle of the stage. It was Sophia!

Mason then came up with a plan.

Meanwhile, Sophia was waiting for a squid to jump out from his hiding spot behind a small wall. He obviously couldn't stay there forever, either he'd eventually come out and Sophia would get him or one of her teammates would eventually get him.

Sophia kinda felt bad though for sniping Mason without thinking twice, it just wasn't a very nice thing to do. Mason was the first friend she'd made in Inkopolis Square, after what'd happened back home in Calamari County...

"I can't believe I just noticed, but you're hair has been yellow ever since we left the NSS" a voice said.

Sophia turned around to find Mason splat her with his roller, he then ran down the ramp and started inking the floor below.

I'm pretty sure you know what the next full minute of the battle was like; Mason and Sophia would randomly bump into each other and either Sophia would splat him or Mason would splat her.

Well, it was Sophia most of the time, thanks to her quick snipes. But Mason would sometimes sneak up behind her and BOOM!

1 minute left....

The next 60 seconds were so intense, both the Yellow team and the Blue team were going to extreme lengths to get the territory back.

In the last 25 seconds, Sophia and Mason ran into each other again. Mason's special was charged up, and so was Sophia's. But Mason activated his first, leaping so high into the air and slamming on the ground.

Somehow, Sophia managed to dodge out of the way in time and activate her special; a Baller (she had a Kensa charger) and started to chase after Mason.
