"Why are they calling us at such an unusual time?" Sam questioned Spence, who was himself surprised.
"I don't know," He answered.
"All the new students please hurry back to your dorms." The math teacher announced in the canteen.
All the students were quite confused about what was going on. It was mid-day and they were asked to head back to their dorms. Besides, why only the new students? These were some of the questions raised by the crowd. With fear evident on their faces and terror looming in their minds, they were sent back to their dorms. All them were asked to sit inside their rooms and wait for an announcement.
Sam got a sudden panic-attack and began to shiver. He folded his shaking legs and wrapped his hands around it. His breath was becoming heavier by the minute and beads of sweat began to form around his temples.
"I told you, I told you there is something wrong," Sam said in a trembling voice.
"No. There can be nothing wrong here." Spence tried to conceal his anxiety.
Sam picked up his feet and started to bite his toenail. Spence saw that and a chill ran down his spine.
"Dude, what the hell is that?!" He exclaimed.
"I... used to... do this whenever mom... and... dad fought with each other."
Spence was at a loss of words.
"All the students please head out of your room and follow the instructions given." Someone announced on the P.A system.
"ki...zu a...to tsuyoku na...zoru." Sam began to sing in his trembling, raspy voice.
"Dude, please don't insult this song." Spence bent down to comfort him by placing a hand on his shoulder.
What kind of consolation is this?
"Yeah, I guess everything will be fine." Sam headed to the door and left the room with a heavy heart. Spence followed him.
All the students were standing right outside their room. Sam headed over to their room's nameplate and leaned against it. Spence headed towards the crowd get his doubts cleared.
"Do you all know what is going on?" He asked Bond, Pin, Alenjandro and Sebastién, as they were the only people he knew among the crowd.
"If we would know, we would not be standing here." Bond gave a sharp reply.
"You could have said a direct 'NO'." Spence retorted.
"Why? You don't like indirect answers?" Bond rolled his eyes.
"No. I don't. Please stop with your shitty attitude."
Sam saw the commotion and headed towards them. He pulled back Spence and dragged him along with himself back near their room. "What the hell were you doing back there?!" He yelled at Spence.
"He was the one who started it." Spence stared at Bond with his rage-filled pitch black eyes.
"Everyone please walk towards your left." Someone announced on the P.A system.
All the students walked towards their left and stopped near a locked door. They saw someone skimming through the anxious crowd. He had the signature creepy smile on his face and the arched eyebrows. Upon reaching the door, he was out of breath.
"Everyone... please...move out of...the way." He panted.
At once, all the crowd cleared and he moved to the metal door and unlocked it with his access card. The door opened and a fresh cool breeze greeted them all. They all entered the room at once, trying to conceal their evident fear. Sam was the last one to enter the room and he saw something others did not. The creepy man left the dorms and the locks clicked twice.
Sam brushed off the heavy feeling and entered the room. The room was massive, like any other room in the academy. It was a dull one with deep red and Prussian blue lights at regular intervals, which made it purple as a whole. The walls were covered with metal pipes of all sizes and had ladders kept in a random fashion.
A tall person entered the room and caught everyone's attention. He had a very different dressing sense. The person had worn a rose gold shimmering coat with a white dress shirt and matching bell-bottomed pants. He had a purple amethyst brooch and a fancy walking stick in his right hand. It all had been topped with a rose gold tall hat.
'Has he jumped straight out of Alice In Wonderland?'
"Welcome to the Special Enhancement Center. This will be your training ground from now on." His voice was deep and mellow.
'Special training? For what?'
"You all are the chosen ones for the special training. The only people suitable for saving the world are you people. Only you all can help us to prosper in our mission. Oh, and my name is Haruko." He added.
'What sort of a mission is he talking about?'
Before anyone could ask any questions, a hexagonal rotatory box made of glass was brought into the room. It was filled with papers and seemed quite heavy as it was on wheels. Haruko opened the lid of the box and took out a sheet of paper, from the box.
"The winners of this unlucky raffle are Arham and Mahmoud, from UAE," He announced.
'What the hell is going on?!'
