The next morning, the gang found Ellie sleeping by the hoverboards. Ellie lifted her head as she saw Kyran and she charged towards him. She licked every inch of his face until it was covered in slobber.
"I told you she'd come," Kyran said as he wiped the drool off his face. "We should make it to the castle before sunset." Kyran sped off on his hoverboard, with most of the gang behind him.
Jacquie was looking at Johnathan, who was staring at her blankly. She waved her hand in front of his face.
"Hello? Anyone home?"
The glaze over Johnathan's eyes vanished and he looked at Jacquie with a new light in his eyes.
"Thanks for getting me out of that trance," he said gratefully. "If it weren't for you, I'd be out here all night!"
That made Jacquie laugh. "Anytime. Come on, we need to catch up with the others. They have a massive lead on us."
They both hopped on their hoverboards and sped after the others.

The group was traveling considerably slower since Kyran was letting Ellie follow them, but eventually, they reached the castle.
The castle was on an edge between a strange border from the desert and a forest. Four stone spires that made the frame of the castle looked as if they had grown out of the ground. One larger tower was enclosed by the spires. Silver gates loomed overhead, guarding the castle from enemies.
"Okay, guys," Kyran said. "This is how we end the war. Astra Dolminu!" A forcefield around them all. As Kyran's eyes faded back to aquamarine, he spoke to the gang. "I want no interruptions while I'm speaking, okay?"
Everyone nodded.
"Once we get inside the castle, everyone has to stand on their zodiac symbol. Your zodiac symbol is the special, er, symbol, that was made to represent you."
"Who chose our zodiac symbols?" Kirna asked.
"I said no interruptions!" Kyran shouted. "That's another story that we don't have time for. I can only remember some of your symbols, but everyone should just feel drawn to it.
"I know that Jacquie's symbol is a star, Robin's is a flame, Riordan's is a tree and Kirna is a firework."
He paused and said, "Although, Kirna's symbol is actually a set of sparks, but it's almost the same thing.
"Now about your powers," he continued. "I didn't get to finish telling you about Jacquie's powers. Jacquie chose... a special necklace that gives her multiple powers."
"What?"
Everyone looked at Robin.
"Sorry, she said, mumbling other words.
"Anyway," Kyran said, "she can read minds."
"WHAT?!"
Now everyone looked at Daniel.
"She's probably been snooping around in our minds, learning our secrets! What if she knew about--"
He cut himself off abruptly and continued in his mind. STOP THINKING. DON'T LET HER HEAR MY THOUGHTS. I CAN'T--
"Daniel, it's not working," Jacquie said. "Yelling just makes it worse, and for the record, I've only read minds twice before."
"Who did you hear?" Daniel asked, sounding slightly paranoid.
"Just Johnathan and Robin," Jacquie replied.
Johnathan paled. Robin looked more or less the same, but her thoughts yelled, What did she hear in my mind?
"Okay, no more interruptions!" Kyran said. "Okay?" he said looking around. "Okay. Second, she has telekinesis."
"What!"
Jacquie was surprised that her voice said that. "I can move things with my mind?" she said, still not quite believing it.
"Yes," Kyran grumbled, now mildly annoyed by all these interruptions. "You should only be able to lift light things right now. Feathers, small animals, sand. Stuff like that."
Jacquie wanted to test her power now by lifting the sand.
Lift, lift, she thought to the sand.
A few measly pieces of sand lifted in front of her. Lift, she thought.
This wasn't going to be easy, concentrating on every granule of sand.
She soon got the hang of it, though, shaping the sand into what she wanted.
It was just a vague blob of sand, but she was trying to make this into a circle.
Come on, stupid sand, she thought frustratedly.
More and more sand came together, at an unnaturally fast rate.
Jacquie was hardly thinking now. The sand was telling her what it wanted to be, and she answered it. She hardly even noticed the purple glow hazing her vision, blotting out everything except for the floating sand in her control.
She even thought Kyran might have said something. Or maybe he yelled it? It was far, far beyond her to even answer.
Images were being formed from the sand, so quickly that she barely knew what was being formed. She caught sight of many things.
A tree.
Fire.
A volcano.
Snakes with twin, piercing eyes.
Lightning bolts and waterfalls.
Rats and horses.
Many, many things appeared inside the circle and Jacquie was waving her hands wildly trying to conjure the images as soon as they appeared in her mind.
Then the circle dropped away completely and something new was beginning to form.
Jacquie had no idea what it was (or maybe she did and she just couldn't see because of the acid bright glow). It was just so alluring that she had to touch it.
And she did.
The sand dropped into a pitiful looking heap. The glow disappeared and her friends were staring at her.
Jacquie herself felt like her mind had slammed into a wall. Ellie licked Jacquie's hand, wearing a concerned look on her face.
"Wow," Erik said, "That was amazing."
Kyran just looked at her with a stare of awe.
Riordan exploded into a sea of words. "That was awesome! Your eyes were this deep purple like Kyran's but not blue and the sand made all those pictures and your hair was floating and you were mumbling some really strange stuff like 'Beware of copper girls and flaming lakes' and--"
He paused to take a breath after his eruption of awe-founded thoughts. "It was just... astounding." Jacquie could hardly believe a word of it.
The forcefield dropped and Jacquie was stunned by the sudden light.
"Come on," Kyran said seriously. "Let's go save this world."
