"You cannot run this time, you puny bastard!" he shouted, as Belaire ducked under the foresail, wincing as the Swordsman's long blade proceeded to slice right through it, the fabric that he had so painstakingly fixed only hours ago, splitting apart like goddamn butter. Again. Holding back the slew of insults sitting on his tongue, he practically leapt up the stairs leading to the stern, the Swordsman closely behind him, as Belaire looked up amongst the slew of dragons in the sky, looking desperately for Nyx's familiar shadow.
"Come on, come on, where the fuck are you Chris?" Dragons and riders alike were already crashing into the other ships around him, interrupting the knights who were already busy fighting off angry pirates.
"I said, STOP RUNNING!" shouted the Swordsman as he slid behind the helm, unsheathing his cutlass.
“I’d like to live a little longer, so no thanks!” Belaire shouted, as the Swordsman came up to the helm, and swung down upon the wheel, sparks flying as his sword clashed against Belaire’s cutlass, Blaire already struggling against the Swordsman’s strength.
“Are you really trying to fight me? You won’t win you know,” he said, as he pushed slightly on his blade, throwing the puny pirate against the wooden railing behind him, his cutlass clattering beside him on the floor.
“I’m not stupid Reyes,” he muttered as he leaned against the railing to push himself back up.
“Then what exactly are you doing?” he asked with narrowed eyes, as he leapt over the helm, blade raised over his head, Belaire donning a smirk as a black and red shadow swooped behind the Swordsman. Within an instant, his sword flew out of his hand, spinning off into the stormy waters around them.
"Ever heard of stalling?” He grimaced as he heard their voice, and turned to face Chris, their sword hanging loosely in their hand as they twirled it through their fingers.
“What took you so long, asshole?”
"Sorry lad, had to deal with an angry wizard,” they replied with a smile, as Belaire grabbed his cutlass off the ground, the Swordsman now between the two, without a blade.
“What’s wrong?” Chris asked mockingly, “you haven’t got a sword, Reyes?” He frowned at their joke, his sense of humor still nonexistent, as he stretched out his hand towards the water. Chris’ eyes widened as they realized the twattery that was about to occur and they shouted out, “Belaire, get out of there!” and leapt towards the Swordsman, Belaire scrambling down the stairs right as the sword popped out of the water into his hand, just in time to meet Chris’, the hit of their blades ringing for just a moment, as Chris used the momentum to jump backwards off the stairs, rolling onto their feet next to the small pirate, who’s cutlass was already facing him.
"Bollocks." Belaire looked at them with smirking eyes.
"Were you also hoping that he didn't have magical sword summoning powers?" Chris sighed in response, swinging their own sword so that the blade faced the Swordsman.
"Is it bad that I was?"
