Chapter 9
Chapter 9
Jinx tapped his empty Mt. Dew bottle against his leg as he watched random things outside the window as they were driven towards wherever Kuroi father's company was.
He suddenly realized he hadn’t asked where the company was and basically got into a car with a strange dude.
He wondered why he would do such a stupid thing…. He was normally a very cautious person.
Jinx looked at the man to his side with his peripherals and it didn't shock him to know he was staring at him.
“.....Take-”
“Take a picture it lasts longer...right?” Kuroi finished before he could even get halfway through his sentence.
Jinx shot him a glare.
“I may just take a picture on of these days though.” Kuroi grinned at him.
“No flash photography.”
“.....You say take a picture then say I cant...why?!”
“To get you to stop staring at me like a creep.” Jinx rolled his eyes.
“...........You are very harsh…..”
“You JUST realized that? Why do you think most of the student body at school ignores me?”
“....I hadn't thought about it…..” Kuroi mumbled.
Jinx shrugged and played with the cap on the bottle.
After arriving to the company and Jinx getting over his minor anxiety of possibly being kidnapped they walked up the steps into the tall grey building.
They went into the lobby and a woman sat behind the check in desk, she nodded at Kuroi as they walked past.
They went into an elevator and Kuroi pushed the button for the top floor.
“.....I just realized something…” Jinx said and tapped the Mt. Dew bottle once against his own head.
“What?”
“The majority of our school would probably love to be in my shoes right now….”
Kuroi chuckled.
“I suppose so and?”
“And we are to never tell anyone at school about this… cause while they ignore me now I don't need them to suddenly start trashing my stuff later when i'm not looking.”
“Do not worry… I will take care of all that…” Kuroi said and smiled almost eerily at him.
Jinx cocked his head at him in confusion, but the elevator had stopped onto their floor so he did not make Kuroi elaborate.
As they stepped off the elevator Jinx took in his surroundings. They were in a short hallway with a door at the end.
Kuroi walked down the hallway and Jinx hesitantly followed.
He pulled out a card and waved it in front of a small reflective square beside the door. Jinx caught a glimpse of the card and frowned at the words written on it.
Before he could ask about them Kuroi opened the door and waved Jinx in with a smile.
A man was sitting at a desk towards the back of the room with a large glass window behind him, showing off the clouds outside.
Jinx frowned even more.
The man had hair and eye color similar to Kuroi’s but appeared older, roughly in his 40 or 50’s.
“Jinx I would like you to meet my father and owner of this company.”
Jinx raised an eyebrow at him.
“Oh? So when exactly am I going to see him? And when do you plan to stop this sham?”
