King Luan was a respected king. He was generally benevolent, was strict with rules, and listened to is people. He was a bit aggressive with other kingdoms for some of his citizens taste, but overall he wasn't that bad of a king. In person just his gaze commanded respect . He was a tall man for the average person. He had light orange hair that came down his large side burns and into a beard. Almost as if he had a mane like the lions he was named for. The lions are great kings of all beasts, and that saying is never not used for to describe Luan. Especially when his amber colored eyes seemed hunt you down. His wife Queen Luna was different from him, quiet, and gentle with everyone as to not go against their wishes. You see her helping the beggars and home owners near the castle. I remember the few times when she came to the exterior to bring extra good delivered directly inside the wall. She was a pale thin woman, with blonde hair so colorless it almost seemed white, she had sea blue eyes that matched her daughters. Princess Arima had been born months before.
Luan raised his hand and the crowd began to quiet. This where I began to figure out that this was my trial.
"You are found guilty of the commitment of six murders and the injury of two soldiers. How do you plead boy." Luan's strong deep voice matched the roar of lion. I was confused, I didn't kill those men, at least that is what I thought. I only sat there with pleading eyes. Once again I am a man of little words,I didn't want to argue with king either.
"Again boy! How do you plead? Silence must mean compliance, yes?"
I didn't know what to say, I sat there on my knees shaking my head, any amount of murder was punishable by death, and with the bloodied clothes the odds were against me. I didn't want to die but if the king commanded it what could I do.
"Fine then have it your way, as punishment you will be ex-"
"WAIIIT, PLEASE WAIT!"
The yelling was coming from one the cage door throughout the walls of the arena. You could hear a struggle and some one banging on the door. The yelling continued and I realized I knew who it was.
King Luan continued "Mmmh, bring her in, we can sentence them together"
I watched as a guard dragged Kaya in, she was dirty. She didn't seem hurt however, I smiled to her as she was brought to the metal post where I was tied. She was pushed to her knees and smiled at me through her fear, "Don't worry Little Brother you can get through this."
The whole time I had an eerie feeling that someone was watching far too intently.
