This is the city that was everywhere and nowhere at the same time. It was created by the gods after the second generation have lived for hundreds of years. Talis was created as the city of the gods for mortals to find and be able to receive help. Talis was an island that was about one third the size of Australia and was even considered its own country. Saphira hand picked mortals to live on this island and allow their families to inhabit Talis, as did the other Elder Gods.
The gods made it to where Talis would have all the portals to all the dimensions, (there is an unknown number of those. Only Khali knew) Mortals and gods alike were welcome to Talis. Overpopulation was not a problem here. Talis had technology that was even ahead of our time and continued to excel without setbacks. People came from all over the universe, but only some were able to be admitted into Talis.
Talis also had the gate to the underworld, which is run by the Reapers, where the dead could leave once a year to see their loved ones, if they were on Talis. The gods were good and benevolent then. They were young. But eventually, people started taking advantage of Talis and committed crimes amongst themselves.
These people, run by the man named Cavian, thought that they should be the ones running Talis and its inhabitants. That only the people who could pay to get into Talis, would be able to live in Talis.
The gods were outraged by this, especially Saphira. They thought these men should be punished for thinking themselves above the gods. They thought about destroying Talis, blowing it off the face of the planet. But Saphira had an idea.
She proposed that they sink Talis below the waters. Since Saphira loved Talis, the other gods weren’t surprised that she would try to partially save it. But what confused them was the fact that she also loved the people and that sinking Talis would drown them all. Saphira continued to say that “only the worthy shall survive.” Skeva, knowing his wife, knew there would be a trick to this. The worthy people would become people of the sea.
Skeva also proposed that they would need leaders. The gods agreed to sinking Talis below the seas and creating a new species. So they thought to create something that would sink Talis, but not destroy it completely, and to find people worthy to lead Talis after it sinks.
Each god would choose one mortal from Talis to lead but will not announce them until Talis sinks. Saphira took care of her leader and the mortals that would survive the sinking of Talis. Each of the Six Elders chose their mortal and began with preparations.
Finally, on the last day of the last month, Talis began to shake. The buildings fell, the people frantically ran for the boats. But Skeva had already destroyed them. That is when the people knew the gods were angry with them.
Then Saphira appeared, bringing Cavian with her. She said that Cavian was the reason they were being punished, because he thought himself above the gods. And that their fate was not avoidable. So Talis sank with Saphira watching from the place she appeared from, and watched the people drown and her favorite city crumble into the bottom of the seas.
Then Saphira changed them. Changed them all, into creatures of the sea. Some had gills, some didn’t. But the unworthy ones turned into creatures of the trenches and were banned there. Then, the other five gods appeared beside her.
The people thanked them for their mercy, when Hava spoke. He said that they had chosen six leaders to lead them from Talis, and into the seas. And with that, Skeva started by summoning his choice, the head of the guard of Talis, Scor. Then Saphira summoned the leader of a life preservation organization, Malov. Then Hovana summoned a blind gardener, Centuros. Cardinaal summoned the bird keeper, Aeris. Then Uva summoned a prophet, Mortis. Then Hava summoned a maid who helped run the orphanage, Essos.
And with that they left their blessings to the Six and parted there. But Saphira stayed. She always stayed. She proclaimed that they were her children and that they would always have her to protect them. Then she gave the Six gifts, she gave Scor the gift of waterfire, Centuros the gift of interdimensional sight, Aeris the gift of flight, Mortis the gift of songspell, Essos the gift of healing, and she gave Malov the gift of summoning. Then she parted.
As did the Six shortly after. They agreed to go and find new places to settle. And you can guess what happens after that. At first the Marines were united under the six but after they died, their descendants broke and formed separate countries. Mortis’ children have the country Evina, Scor’s children took to the underwater volcanoes called Avan, Centuros’ children took the colder parts of the planet called Lonava, Aeris’ children stay near the islands with the country named Iva, Essos’ children took to the floor and called their country Vaniva, then Malov’s children stayed near Talis and called their country Anvatis. And the surface worlders call them merfolk and such and they called the sunken city Atlantis.
