The winged pizza dude blinked, looked at the four of us, then stared at me. Like, with wide eyes in that holy sheet way, when you can't believe what you're seeing. Then he spoke, “Are these wizards your friend? Or are they holding you captive?”

I blinked at the random and raised my, wtf are you saying, eyebrow. “come again?”

The pizza guy shoved the boxes at my brother and grabbed my hand and pulled me five steps away before Chill and the two mountains reacted and started to step forward. The winged dude waved a hand, and a pretty bubble surrounded the two of us. Chill was the only one who ran into the bubble and bounced off. Eros caught my bro before his as-apple hit the dirt, and I wondered what happened to the pizza.

“Are you being held against your will by these humans?” The guy grabbed me by my shoulders, and I got a little miffed when I realized that this guy was a head taller than me. What was with the world?! Every magical being I've met was taller than me!

“Can you not see the resemblance between the teal haired dude and me?” I pointed to Chill, who was busy freaking out. Eros still held my brother by the shoulder, and it was kinda cute. It was like Chill had his own version of Hades, who liked to hold me. Oh, wait... yeah, duh, of course, he'd be like that. Twins.

Pizza guy looked back and forth between me and my brother, “Is he your grandson or great-grandson? He doesn't feel fae.”

Hades and Eros laughed at that, both of them bent over, holding their stomachs while my brother just looked at Pizza dude in horror.

“What?! He's my twin brother! Eww! No! No flucking way! Are you crazy Mr. Wing Man? I'm still in high school!” My look of horror had to match my brother's right now.

Pizza man dropped his hand from me, and the bubble popped. “How is that possible? You aren't human.” He looked so confused. Well, you and me both buddy, I thought to myself, this had been a crazy apple day.

“Yeah, there is a lot of those kinds of questions going on right now,” I said to him, and my brother hugged me to him.

“That's it! I'm telling mom and dad that you aren't going by yourself with Hades! You can't even stand in our own doorway without someone grabbing you! I will not be one of those siblings who loses their other half, even if I'm the better half, it would still suck.” Chill babbled and glared at the pizza guy.

I elbowed my brother in the stomach, “Hey, you are so not the better half of the twin set, you... you... argh! I can't even curse at you right!”

“You do curses!?” Pizza guy gasped.

“No,” The four of us replied together, showing that the twin thing really was a thing.

Hades took a breath and wiped his eyes, ridding himself of his mirthful tears, “He should probably come inside with us. We could probably ask him some questions about Under-hill.”

“Look, I was just a concerned citizen of the MBC, I am protected under statute seven paragraph nine. If you take me captive, you could get severe punishment, especially since my parents were part of the treaty. They wrote it.” The winged guy said and stepped back several feet.

Knowing more would probably be a good thing, so I turned on my considerable charm, I started walking towards the guy and tripped on my slippers and stumbled forward and into the man's arms.

He looked down on me with surprise even as he held me like he was about to kiss me in some old fashioned movie. Before he or I could kiss or extract ourselves or whatever one does when one accidentally gets in such a predicament, I was yanked out of the winged dude's hands and held against a mountain of a chest.

“We'll give you a hundred dollars if you come in and answer some questions, you will not be asked to reveal anything that might threaten the safety of your people, we just have to make a trip to see her family and don't want to go in blind.” Hades's chest rumbled against my body. I was definitely starting to feel like luggage.

“Oh, make it two-hundred, and you have a deal. I'm saving up to buy a new game system.” the pizza guy said.

So cash was all it took to smooth the way into some answers from the hero wannabe? I tripped for nothing. Hades's arms tightened around me, and I thought, maybe it wasn't all for nothing after all.
