Have a good day Annabelle.” I nodded and he walked out of the room. After a while, I laid down and went to sleep. When I woke up I seen my mom sitting in the chair beside the bed. I sat up and she looked at me. “Annabelle what happened. They said something happened but they didn’t give us any details.”
I looked at her sadly. “Mom I’m so sorry…” she looked at me worried. “What are you sorry about?” I was starting to cry. “It’s about sis.” she looked even more worried now. What about her?” She looked at me. “I’m so sorry I couldn’t save her. I tried but I didn't get to her in time.” She started to cry with me. “They said that it was an interrupted break-in.” She looked up at me. “How did they get into the house?”
I shook my head. “They don't know.” She got up and looked out of the window. “Mom what’s wrong?” she shook her head. “It’s nothing don't worry.” I could tell that she was lying which made me worry more. I decided to leave it to know. I don't want to force her to answer. I was getting hungry.
“Mom when can we leave?” she looked at me. “As soon as it is safe to go home and when the doctors say you can.” I nodded and got up. “I’m hungry let’s go and get something to eat.” She nodded and we walked down to the cafeteria. “What do you want?” I looked at the food options and frowned. There isn't anything I really like to eat here. “I think I will just have some pizza. Nothing else really looks good.”
She nodded and grabbed me some pizza. We walked to the cash register and we paid for our food. We walked back up to my room and we sat down. “Mom where is dad at?” She looked at the wall. “He said he isn't coming.” I look at her. “He had to stay behind t finish up work there. He will be back as soon as the deal goes thru.”She looked really sad. It was like she wasn’t telling me the whole truth.
“Mom is everything ok?” She shook her head. “No im sorry. I’m just so confused about why this always happens to our family.” I looked at her and frowned. She doesn't need to be going thru this right now. “Hey, mom. Let's go and take a walk.” She nodded and got up. We walked around for a while and stopped to sit at a park bench out in the sun. “It’s a nice day out isn't it.” She nodded. “Ya, it is.”
She looked a little more relaxed now. She hates hospitals. “What are we going to do now?” she shook her head. “I don't know.” a tear rolled down her face. “I wish that this didn’t happen to us. It's bad that this happened not too long ago as well. I nodded and looked at the sky. When it started to get dark we had to head back to the hospital room.
