We sat down at the table and looked at the menu. "Mom, may I have oatmeal cookies?" I questioned. "I don't see why not as long as you have something healthy for breakfast tomorrow," she said. "I will and I’ll have cereal for breakfast" I promised and the waiter came to our table. "Hi, I'm Jayden. What can I get you two?" Wow...that was actually pretty quick, yet no one is here so I don’t see why it isn’t. "Two oatmeal cookies please," I stated as I put the menu down. "Some blackberry toast," she said. "Alright coming right up. I'm the only employee here before this place closes till the morning so it might take a bit, I apologize in advance" He took the menus and walked to the kitchen to prepare the food.
"Do you think this move is a good idea...I miss Emmalyn" I looked down. "I know sweetie, but we can live better lives here. The school you went to was terrible and the town was falling apart this is for the best" she said. "Yeah, but I liked the broken town we lived In. It was so cool" I frowned. "Just know it's for the best okay? You'll make some good friends here in no time and who knows maybe Emmalyn will visit or we'll visit her during a break from school or my work" my mother assured me and I heard the waiter come out of the kitchen, now walking towards our table. "Sorry to interrupt, but here's the toast, the cookies might take another 10 minutes because we always them fresh" He apologized and then put the plate with two pieces of toast down on the side of the table where my mother was sitting, but I didn’t get my cookies. Damn, maybe it was meant to be I eat something healthy for once in my life. "Phe I'll be in the car okay? Grab the cookies when your done" my mother got out of her seat, then opened the door and went to the car while I just sat there writing in my journal..writing a letter to Emmalyn. I honestly thought we were staying here to eat, but I guess my mother is too tired to sit around since its pretty late after all.
"Excuse me? I don't mean to interrupt you with your writing, but here are your cookies." The waiter placed them down on the table and I got out my wallet to pay. "For the cookies and toast" I handed him eight dollars and he rejected it. "Just have them on the house from me" He handed me a box of oatmeal cookies which was more than I asked for but I'm not complaining because they look really good. "At least have it as a tip" I put the money on the counter. "Fine I'll take it, but only this once," he said as he put the money away in the register. "So..you play DragonKnight Saga?" He questioned. Oh, it's because of the shirt I'm wearing. I didn’t realize I changed into this one. "Yeah I do, haven't played it lately since I just moved from Atlanta" I confessed. "Well welcome to town. If you like gaming there's a game store to the right after this place, anyways I'll let you go, have a good night" He Said and I grabbed the box of cookies, walked out the door towards the car.
I opened the car door and got in closing the door beside me. “There are two cookies in that box?” My mother questioned. “He gave me a few extra and he told me the meal was on the house, but I tipped him because I would feel bad for not paying,” I answered and she chuckled. “He probably gave you a few extra cookies because you looked pretty and giving you the meal on the house.” She teased me. “I literally talked to him for a minute and besides all the cute guys are either taken or act like immature brats” I yawned. “I mean you aren’t wrong, but anyways we need to get going to the house it's late," my mother said as she started driving. I looked out the window seeing the dark dimly lit scenery around me. The buildings, the parks, the stores there were so many. "How long until we get to the house?" I asked. "We're almost there just a few more minutes." She kept driving and I saw a large school, is that where I'm going to attend high school? Great..a large as hell school to worry about when I get there. "Phoenix, we're here. Stuff will be here in a few days." My mother stopped the car and got out closing the door behind her. "It looks too modern to me" I complained. "Oh come on I think it's amazing! Just look at the size of this place and I sighed. “I prefer small spaces and cool looking towns” I complained and she chuckled. "It'll be fun and trust me you'll find something amazing here to have fun with..who knows maybe even a boyfriend." She had evil in her eyes as she teased me saying that. "MOM!" I yelled and she laughed. "I'm going to unpack now." She grabbed a box and took it upstairs. I sighed looking at all the boxes lying all over the place..this is going to be one long lifetime.
{Fun fact: Virtual or Reality? was renamed three times. Legend saga, DragonKnight Saga, and Virtual or Reality?}
