That was when his feelings had gone haywire, but he still fought to not show them. He had to act tough since nothing he thought he knew could help him navigate his real life. There was a minuscule twinkle of hope that seeded itself inside him, hope that he actually knew her. If that was it, then all the fear he was hiding could be settled down.
Normally he wouldn't give her a listen, but his feelings reached a peak and there was no longer a point in hiding them. He just admitted he needed help by saying that to her.
'From scratch...?' she asked.
He was asking for too much.
Mark nodded.
He should compensate later.
Mark couldn't see her, but she closed her eyes and gave out a warm smile he really needed at the time.
'Even if I have to forget everything myself, I'm happy as long as it helps.'
He couldn't help but hate himself as tension he never realised existed was washed away and his body felt lax again.
He trusted her.
