"Eli?" The summer days had begun to fade, leaving the two with fewer and fewer things to do, though on this particular day Eli had spent most of the morning weaving and putting flowers in Liam's long, blonde hair. 

When Liam spoke, Eli looked up curiously and smiled at the stern and powerful looking wolf with flowers in his "mane" of hair. "Yeah?"

"How long do you think it'll be before the others find out?" He hesitated, looking at the ground with his eyebrows furrowed. Eli tilted his head and scooted closer, practically climbing onto Liam's lap while trying to stretch into his line of vision.

"Why does that matter?" Eli's fuzzy ears perked up "I could care less what the deer and wolves think." He smiled and pressed a kiss to Liam's lips "If it's a big problem we can just run away together right?"

Liam didn't reply and looked away. He seemed like he wanted to say something, but he knew it would break Eli's heart. 

Eventually, he came clean "Eli... They'll kill us... they'll make me watch as they slaughter you... then they'll tear me limb from limb..." He held his breath and pulled Eli closer, clinging to him protectively. "I can't lose you... not after I've been looking for so long..."

"Liam..." Eli shut his eyes and cuddled into Liam's embrace "If we get caught... we run... if it comes to it..." He looked up into Liam's eyes solemnly "We'll die together... The cliff on the west side of the forest... We jump off it..."

Liam searched Eli's gaze only finding sincerity "You're seriously planning our deaths?" He laughed in an almost sad manner and gently rubbed his fingers against the bite mark on Eli's shoulder as if he was reminding himself what it meant "Okay... we'll die together..." 

They both remained silent and tried not to think about the agreement they just made. All while Liam gently played with Eli's mark with Eli laying against his chest. The deer would occasionally look up as the flowers began to sag out of his hair blonde hair. A little time passed when Liam began to grow bored.

Liam leaned down and placed a kiss on the scarring wound that was left over from when Liam marked Eli "There's only a few more weeks to go until we can make this official..." He smiled and pressed his index finger against the tip of Eli's nose "Are you sure about all this? Wolf mating is permanent..."

Eli tilted his head slightly then laughed "Of course I'm sure, Liam... You're the only one for me silly... I only want to be with you... For longer than forever I don't care if it's permanent"

"You know it's painful, right?" Liam seemed slightly nervous and embarrassed at this new topic, his tail thumping slightly against the ground.

"What?"

Liam sighed and drew gentle circles on Eli's back between his shoulder blades "Sex... it's painful... at least at first. One of my old friends used to mess around with desperate males... he... well I asked him about it..." As Eli searched Liam's face he could see how red his cheeks were. He was definitely embarrassed. "I guess... I wanted to know what to do... it's supposed to be painful at first and I don't think it will help how..." He hesitated and looked at Eli's body for a moment "...tiny you are..."

Eli couldn't help but giggle slightly at how embarrassed Liam looked "I'm sure I'll get used to it... And I don't care about pain if it means getting to spend the rest of my life with you... besides..." Eli straddled Liam's lap and leaned towards his ear, whispering softly "I'm sure I'll enjoy it~" He stuck his tongue out and pressed his index finger to the tip of Liam's nose just as Liam had done to him earlier.

Liam was stiff as a plank with wide eyes, and a red face. He seemed utterly shocked and stumbled for words for a moment before eventually managing to speak "You're such a tease..." He muttered while looking away.

"You know you love it~" Eli's tail fluttered rapidly while Liam held him, slowly moving his hands down his back to his rear. Once he reached Eli's behind he nervously looked into Eli's eyes to make sure he didn't do anything wrong, and much to his delight Eli only seemed to be blushing in slight surprise. As if he didn't expect Liam to react like that.

Liam gave Eli's rear a light squeeze, earning a small gasp in response followed by a laugh. Eli reached up and placed a hand on Liam's cheek before giving him a small pat. "Save it for later, killer..." He joked before cuddling back into Liam's chest. 

While both the deer and the wolf were acting as calm as they could manage, both were internally freaking out and trying to understand why they did that. The talk of death seemed to be completely forgotten.
