On my fourth day of living in this room Galland brought me out, he had me bathe in a large tub of cool water and when I was done he supplied me with new clothes. These clothes were sturdier, military, but not like the type you see soldiers wear. The light gray fabric was lined with blue along the openings, sleeves, neck, and waist. The white and blue Halomtano insignia was also patched in to the chest. There was dyed leather sewn in with the fabric throughout the longer flatter regions of the body, for some light protection. The pants were the same, but I kept my same plain footwear.
As I followed Galland through the hallway and down the stairs he spoke to me "So, essentially Arawn, I am your personal trainer, and not everyone gets one, so consider yourself lucky, not everyone gets one." He checked to make sure I was paying attention and continued. "But you still have to go through training like everyone else, so it will be accelerated, and geared towards, umm, intense confrontation" The intense confrontation I really wanted was with the king. As if he was reading my mind Galland said "I get it, you're probably thinking, he knows I hate the king, why is he gonna train me?" The words and the fact that he spun around and grabbed me by my shoulders surprised me. Galland simply said with a big smile on his face "Because it is funny" He had me keep following him until we finally reached the bottom of the stairs, when we stopped at the oak door.
"But, yeah, you are gonna have to listen to your instructor, and make friends with the cadets, and learn all the rules, blah blah blah. When it is time for you and me to train then we can have real fun." Galland said while pushing the door open, he ushered me through as I stepped into a courtyard. It was a large walled off facility, I could tell there was a couple more buildings, long enough for an infirmary or barracks, because the only place I could have been was a boot camp. This courtyard was just an opening in the middle of these buildings, the room I was in, was part of a really tall tower, probably for officers and watch guard duty. There was a small platform where a Knight was standing.
In Halomtano Knights are very recognizable, in subtle ways, the vibes they give exude how skilled and experienced they are. Once they do enough in terms of recognition to become a knight, the military brands them with the Halomtano insignia. This man was bald, and wore pretty heavy armor, we was a bit shorter than me but weighed at least sixty pounds heavier. His armor only exposed his face, neck, most joints, and his biceps, which were branded. Even I knew to be cautious around Knights, so I watched him until I realized he was watching me. Then I realized he wasn't the only one, I turned to see cadets who wore the same as me in four or five rows, with six in each, but at the very end there was a missing sixth.
Galland threw a pebble at me as the Knight yelled "GET IN LINE YOU LITTLE FUCK FACE!"
