“Rain, why did you leave so suddenly earlier?”

“Ah, the thing is, I noticed the rain changed directions. That meant Wind was coming. If she found out I was with you...well I’d never be left alone again. I’d never get to see you again.”

“Why do they hate me so much?”

“Ah, it’s not just you, they don’t want me to interact with any humans, they think that all humans are greedy and selfish...That they would just use us.”

“I see, but why do they force their opinions on you? Why do they get to tell you what to do?”

“Well for one, they are older than me, but they are also higher up in the hierarchy than I am.”

“Oh, I understand how that feels.”

“Heh, but I’m in my rebellious phase and whenever I'm without them, you can bet I’ll spend it doing things that would piss them off.”

“Haha, I see, so you’re a bad boy. My parents always told me to stay away from boys like you. Guess it’s lucky I’m also in my rebellious phase.” They both shared a small laugh

“On that note, I have an entire week alone, would you be willing to be the human I rebel with?” She gasped dramatically and with a cheesy accent said,

“Why, I’d be honored Mr. Rain.” Rain followed in suit with her,

“Ah my dear lady, you are too kind to do me such a generous favor.” Ahnali snorted and began laughing loudly. Rain was relieved to hear her laughing so freely again.

“Um, Rain, I was wondering, why is it that I can’t see you at all, but when you gave me your shirt I could completely see it, without any trouble.”

“Hmm, well that’s a little complicated but I guess you could say: if it belongs to me it becomes part of me and therefore is not visible to humans. However, when I gave you my shirt it no longer belonged to me, it belongs to you now, that is why it became visible.”

“I guess that makes sense. But I guess that means I will never be able to see you…” she trailed off. Rain was about to say something but Ahnali cut him off “Oh, there’s my house!” She pointed out a large residence in the distance but realizing she was slipping a bit quickly wrapped her arm back around his neck. They quickly arrived at her house. Rain placed her down in the back garden trying to avoid being seen.

“There, back home, safe and sound.”

“Thank you Rain, I don’t know how to repay you for what you’ve done.

He stepped back and rubbed his neck “Well, I do have a week alone, hang with me a little bit and we’ll call it even.” He gently tapped her on the nose. She blushed slightly “it’s a deal.” She smiled at him then quickly glanced away shyly, “I guess I better go inside. I assume you’ll come find me right?”

“Absolutely, don’t worry, you’ll definitely know when I’m around.”

“Oh here,” she began to unbutton the shirt, “I should give this back to you.” He gently grabbed her hand preventing her from taking it off.

“No, keep it. Your dress is still ripped.” She quickly gave him one last hug then went around to the front of her house taking a deep breath before ringing the doorbell. Rain took to the sky and watched her disappear inside her house.
