A young girl looked quite spaced-out as she gazed upon the screen of her phone showcasing the concentration of a shaolin monk.
- Hello! - Jack spoke, emphesising the fact that it had already been his second try by knocking into the glass partition.
- Oh, hi! - the girl replied pulling her earphones off - Just use the terminal. Out there...
Jack looked toward the array of displays placed in two rows along the hall toward which the girl had jestured. For a moment he just stood halt in hesitanse intimidated by the look of the devices, but quicly he resorted back to the receptionist girl.
- Ehm... I'm sorry. I need help.
- The terminals are working... They were... Aren't...
- Yeah... but aren't you a receptionist?
- Ehm... Yes... - The girl put down her phone and stood upright facing Jack - but people just use the terminals - she smiled awkwardly trying to apear polite.
- But you can give me dirrections, Right?
- Ahh... Yes. I'm sorry! - she smiled again - how can I help you? - she spread her shoulders and straightened her back.
- You see, I'm... looking for a friend. He should have appeared here with a broken leg but a few hours ago... Ehm... unfortunatelly, I don't know which ward he was situated in. I'd like to visit him though - Jack put a forced smile onto his face.
- Ye-e-s... I'm sorry... but could it be that I've already seen you before?..
- What?- Jack tried for a moment to tie her question with previous events of the day, but it only resulted in the mess he has already had in his head to spread.
- Oh, I'm sorry - the girl blushed abseving Jack's reaction - Please, give me your Unicard and I'll provide you with a temporary visitor's pass so you could see your friend.
- My... Unicard?..
Jack's mind was caught offguard but his body started to react on it's own franticly putting his hands over different regions of his clothing suggesting existance of pockets in those parts
- I-i-i... do-o-on't have it... - he he pronounced meating his eyes with concerned look of the receptionist girl -... with me.
- Well... then, I'm afraid I won't be able to help you. You need to have a Unicard to get the pass.
- Yes... I see.... - confused and concerned, Jack turned around and started making his way toward the exit.
-Wait!
Jack turned around.
- Are you... Jack?... Jack... Burden?..
- It's Burdon - Jack replied on automotion, without giving a second thought, as he has used to along all of those three decades of his life he had experienced prior.
