But he had made a decision. He was going to do what his ancestors had sworn to defend against. He was going to throw himself into a void of the unknown. He was going through the portal.
Basic survival kit, check. Sleeping stuff , check. Soap, check. Salt , check. basically , the only thing left was to figure out what to do with Lucky. Moth pondered this as he strapped on his backpack. Lucky might supply his breakfast milk, but to be completely honest , he valued Sniffles a lot more than lucky. That was another reason he was going to risk his life. His only decent companion. Sorry, lucky.
Anyway, Moth decided he'd packed enough , and also decided that Lucky wouldn't stray too from home, but she would definitely go crazy in an unknown world. she would probably also cause havoc, as per her reputation. Moth needed to get in, find Sniffles, and get out : a distraction was the last thing he needed , especially one involving his goat or other people.(ewwww, people...) Or worse, both together. He did not need a distraction. Especially a Lucky one.
'' Lucky , stop nibbling my feet.'' Moth implied. '' please. I need to leave. You won't be lonely , there's loads of other animals in the woods.'' Moth later regretted saying this, but we'll get to that. He sighed , then started walking.
As far as he knew , the portal wasn't too far, but the only time he'd ever visited was as a non-binary dwarf child with his dwarf mother, when she'd warned about the dangers it presented , and how it's our soul duty as dwarfs to post-pone an intergalactic disaster. Again , it was North,( strategically placing his house between the human town and the portal ) so Moth set out that way. He was thinking hard, trying to remember the way , so was oblivious to the regular snapping of twigs behind him, and the sudden fluttering of scared wings as a thing ran through the bush they were nesting in. It wasn't until a cry of 'Bleegh!!' gave away who his pursuer was...
''For gods' sakes, lucky!!''
