"You have to have a name, 'Missy' and 'Snow' are not names!" Blaze said 'Snow' would hear none of it, she didn't want a name that would bind her to them just yet, she had come to learn that in the 'magical' world names held a certain power; when it came to Witches and Warlocks it was especially true and even though she wasn't a Witch, it shouldn't have been the case, but she quickly learned from Nate that even to Werewolves, names had a special meaning to it. It was their 'name' that bound them to their mates forever once they meet and accept each other and it was also their names that could break such a bond... and because it is through their names, breaking that bond... was a very difficult task, to even think losing that bond once they meet their other half becomes near impossible. All the more reason she didn't want a 'name' just yet. Honestly, she was fine with them calling her 'Missy' and 'Snow' the two names had grown on her.
Would not having a name, influence her bond with her 'future' mate? She wasn't sure, Nate and William assured her that it wouldn't - as though having a 'mate' was her main concern - the bond existed regardless of the 'name', but the truth was it frightened her not knowing who her 'mate' was to be. She didn't need someone she didn't already know, purely because anyone she didn't 'know' (whether she knew them by word of mouth thanks to Will and Nate or personally met by now) posed a 'threat' to her.
She didn't 'need' a mate case closed.
Content to just continue working on getting past her next hurdle - not freaking out seeing other people while out on a walk with Nate and Wiliam, or Ena, Blaze or Gale - still unable to handle 'crowds' which for her was any 'one' person more than these five people in the same room or 'strangers' outside of the house closer than twenty feet.
Today Nate wanted her to meet someone, he had yet to tell her about, an Omega in their Pack. So she didn't wait for Blaze to 'give-up' on convincing her to start thinking about her name, instead she grabbed a piece of toast and ran out the house after grabbing her extra think warm jacket - already mid winter. Nate and Will was late so she waited, her breath white against the chilling air. It wasn't as cold on 'Coven' grounds as it was as soon as she was to leave its protection. Ena and Blaze's house teetering on the border of that 'field'.
It was magic, that kept the worst of the cold out, maintained by thousands of spells woven into Witching-Magnolias - one of four kinds of flowers that're unique in that they were created by ancient Witches to possess its own kind of magic. Although these Witches' flowers 'bloomed' all year long they were very particular to which environment they thrived. Witching-Magnolias were a 'winter' flower, and loved the cold, the colder the more beautifully it bloomed; and here, where winter reigns eternally, it was the only one of the Witches' flowers that could survive in these freezing winds.
"Snow!" Nate's voice called out to her, he waved her over and she left the border, meeting up with him half-way. William signed something and she starting telling him all about how her morning was so far. He had been learning sign language to teach her, and she had caught on fast.
"Hey slow down!" Nate scolded, he was still trying to get used to it, the speed at which Nate and Snow could already 'talk' was trice too fast for him to 'read'. No one else has yet been made aware of her, Will and Nate learning sign language; she told them to keep it secret to surprise everyone all at once when they were all together - Gale currently always running errands for the Elder - and once Nate could actually 'keep' up.
"How is Ena doing so far on getting the charm to 'work'?" Nate asked, making sure she wasn't too fast with signing she told him she was still struggling, and asked if they couldn't rather 'meet' new people later when it was completed.
"You'll be fine, Millie is really kind, a bit hyper, but I just know you're going to get along with her, no questions asked!" Nate tried to calm her nerves he was all too aware was just itching to send her over the edge. Though she was 'fine-ish' with people in the house - avoiding them by going to her room - outside she has yet to pass ten seconds before she starts having a panic attack and 'touching' her while she is panicking was just adding to the fuels. Yes Nate and Will could 'touch' her so long as she initiated contact first or gave permission for them to 'take' her hand to help her up; always taking her to remote places and hard to reach places on these mountains; they especially loved exploring the more forested areas with her.
As for the charm Ena was trying to perfect, they hoped it would 'help' Snow to relax and calm down when she starts the onslaught of a panic attack. Ena had procured a flower of each of the other three Witches' flowers and plucked one of the Magnolias that weren't part of an array around Coven. She had given Snow the four flowers to ‘smell’. Each of the flowers had a property and every being in this world would only be able to ‘smell’ the true fragrance of one of these fours flowers and if they lack a certain ‘attribute' or combination of attributes these flowers represented then that what they lacked or were weak against would have a repulsive scent to it.
Snow didn’t react negatively to either of the flowers and could faintly give remark on three of the four’s true fragrances - something only other Witches and Warlocks could do, though even they would still only have one that has an appeal to them. The fourth, the Magnolia was the only one that stood out for Snow though.
The Witches Magnolia’s elements were that of the moon and wind, and snow… it represented the traits of endurance, truth and beauty and those who are 'caring' with troubled hearts are often drawn to the flower, for more than its smell.
As soon as the a few small wooden houses came into view, Snow was ready to turn around, this was the first time she was coming all the way here, the furthest she had been from the Coven.
"Don't worry, we won't go further than this if you don't want to, but you're still meeting Millie, she'll be here in a bit." One of the few abilities 'wolves' had were to communicate telepathically with someone, so long as they knew the person's 'mind' - 'feeling' it and 'recognizing' other wolves' minds was suppose to be like second nature, it was just as 'easily' block, but a stronger wolf might be able to force his or way through the 'barrier' that wolves put up to keep their thoughts private.
Nate had already told her he couldn't 'sense' her mind at all and so communicating with her the same way was impossible... - it confirmed that she was a 'human' and not really a 'wolf', she didn't belong in a Pack, even if she wanted to... she didn't have the right... she wasn't one of them.
"Stop thinking whatever you are thinking!" William quickly brought her attention away from the thought.
"You belong 'here', in the Pack or in the Coven, it doesn't matter. You belong 'here' with us." Will reached out his hand, and since she didn't say or react, it was permission enough for him to 'pet' her head.
Someone was approaching them, William and Nate quickly trying to reassure Snow that it was only 'Millie' the girl they wanted her to meet, it wasn't helping her much. But as if on cue, Millie dashed, closing the last stretched and brining herself to stand right in front of Snow.
"Oh my... Good and gracious soul! She's like a snow fairy!" Millie squealed and before Snow knew it, Millie was already 'touching' her, pacing around her, 'eyeing' her.
"She's perfect! She's a darling angel! Please be my Muse!" Millie said as came full circle around Snow, holding Snow's hands with a pleading look in her eyes, begging Snow to say 'yes' to what, they didn't know. Will and Nate too stunned that Snow hadn't run yet... Standing like a blank statue, deadly silent...
"Millie! We told you no touching her!"
"Oh! Sorry..." Millie quickly let go of Snow's hands and took a few steps back.
"Please be my Muse?" She waited for a while.
"Great you broke her!" Nate growled, when Snow didn't move an inch or bat an eye when he waved trying to get her attention, just as her tensed up muscles started to 'relax' a bit, her hands shook with her building fear.
"I did not break her, right? Tell him I didn't break you!" Millie turned to face Snow again pointing to Nate as she hoped the girl was finally coming back to her senses. Snow's head 'shook', but not for the reason Millie thought.
"See I didn't break her." Snow was starting to panic, this person was too much, she was overwhelming in every 'sense' - she was loud, she was too close, she had 'touched' her, she was 'new' and 'strange'...
"So you'll be my muse?" Without thinking, without even realizing it she nodded, she felt 'numb'... her head felt fuzzy... She looked over to Nate pleadingly, wanting to go home, but...
"Yes!" Millie cheered as she grabbed a hold of Snow and hugged her, sending Snow's mind into a blank void all over again.
"Millie!" Nate shouted, snapping Snow out of the trance. Tears spilling down her cheeks, it was all too much for her.
"Oh... aaa... I'm sorry? I honestly didn't mean to upset you... You don't have to be my Muse if you don't want to be." Millie bent down ignoring Nate and Will who was trying to tell her to 'step away'.
Snow shook her head, in her own way trying to tell Millie to give her some room, her heart pounding in her chest so fast it actually hurt to breathe.
"I don't want to force you into doing anything you don't want to."
"You are if you continue holding her like that." William hissed grabbing Millie and pulling her away from Snow, her feet finally giving way beneath her, falling to her knees.
"Aaaahhh!!! I'm so stupid!" She scolded herself stomping her foot deep into the snow.
Nate kneeled down in front of her.
"Hey... I'm sorry... I just really hope her cheery energy would be a nice to have around. I shouldn't have..." His words were cut short as Snow, threw her arms around him and burying her head in his chest. Slowly and unsurely he patted her back as she cried.
"I should leave..." Millie's voice was soft and 'depressed'. Snow had already 'calmed' down, she just refused to let anyone see her 'teary' eyed snotty nosed face, embarrassed about her breakdown. But she pulled away halting Millie.
"It's okay, you can stay." Will translated.
"Just no more touching and maybe be a bit quieter?" Millie grinned, almost about to shout out in joy that she was being given another chance, she quickly though held her hand in front of her mouth realizing what she was about to do; halting her 'hugging' Snow again and talking too loudly in one swoop.
"And about being my Muse?"
"What do you mean by 'muse'?" Will kept translating for them.
"I want you to be the inspiration for some of the things I make as well as wear them. I design and make clothes, I don't have anyone to wear any of it... I mean I do... but only because I need someone to model for me, not because I want them to be my models... but I'd love it if you did, you are beyond beautiful..." She hesitated when she saw Snow's defeated look.
"Oh... yeah... uhm... Millie... Maybe we should not talk about it now?" Nate recalled what he had been told that Snow had been badly injured and that they couldn't properly heal it, but he didn't want to explain all that to Millie right there in front of Snow, since he was sure she wanted her privacy regarding her past and would instead tell it to Millie herself... Out of respect he would only 'hint' to Millie later to be more careful.
