Ark ran over to Jade’s side and was speechless her throat wound had gotten worse and her blood was still spilling upon the floor. “No, nonononono..” Ark whispered. Then a man walked out of the woods. He was wearing a mask to cover his face and had a hood over his head he walked towards Ark swiftly carrying something in his hand. Rin cocked an eyebrow, curious to see this new stranger. Lily was hella confused as well.
“What the hell-?! WHO ARE YOU! ANSWER, FOR THE SAKE OF THE GOOD KING COLE!” She shouted, moving to go protect Cole from this stranger.
“No, I don’t need that, I took the last of that girl’s power to strengthen myself.” Cole said, bringing his axe into a battle position. “And that was a good question, Lily. Who are you, or you can die, by my hand.” He threatened stepping around Lilith. The man didn’t answer anyone he just stopped by Jade’s side and opened a small case full of potions and medical supplies.
“Oi what’re you doing?” Ark asked the stranger. He didn’t answer he just pulled out a potion and poured it on her wound which closed up instantly the blood on the floor rushing back into the wound of which he took off one of his gloves to reveal a pale white hand that he put over Jade’s body and groaned. “I can’t heal her here or like this.” The mysterious man sighed then looked over at Lilith and Cole. “Which one of you injured her?” the man asked cole and Lilith his voice not full of anger just curiosity.
“It was me. Why must you know?” He said warily, his axe still in attack position.
The man closed his case and put his empty potion bottle in his jacket pocket then walked towards Cole and Lilith, this time slower than before.
Lilith looked at the stranger skeptically. “What are you doing?” She asked, narrowing her eyes. Cole pointed his axe at the stranger, “Don’t come any closer.” He threatened.
The man didn’t stop he just walked closer and closer. He then reached Lilith, who was a bit closer than Cole and kept walking. Lily growled as he approached. “Don't take another step, or I swear I will hurt you.”
The man didn’t listen he kept walking. Cole, now very annoyed, swung his axe at the man, he swung true towards his head. Lily lunged with her broadsword and thrust it towards the man's gut. The man shimmered like a mirage and appeared behind them with Cole’s axe in his hand. Cole spun around, drawing his dagger.
But the mysterious man was gone and once again appeared behind Cole and started walking back towards Ark and Jade’s body. Cole spun back around and lunged at the man, “How dare…!” He yelled. The man spun around and smiled he rushed backwards tripping Cole and grabbing the dagger then pushing Cole to the ground and dropped the axe on his chest. “Why thank you Sir.” The man said mockingly. Then walked back over to Jade and grabbed the dagger and cut his hand with it before throwing it away. The dagger then disintegrated into a purple smoke which went over towards Jade and she breathed it in. Ark, who had been trying to sense her pulse, felt it start again as her chest rose and fell softly.
“She’s alive.” Ark whispered happily his eyes a mixture of orange and light blue. But no tears fell down his face.
Cole got up, grabbed his axe, and said, “So, this is been a very weird day and I would very much like to know… Who are you?”
The man looked back at Cole. “Oh! I’m someone you know Cole, you betrayed me quite some time ago.” The man said. Ark then got up from Jade’s side. He turned around towards Cole and Lilith, his face having gone back to being emotionless his eyes white like the mist surrounding him he out his hand out and the mist turned back into a katana and the mask appearing on Ark’s face.
Ark was about to walk over towards Lilith and Cole but the masked man grabbed his arm and shook his head, Ark, thought, wouldn’t take no for an answer and tugged his hand away from the man pulling him forward making his hood fall off showing the mans cyan hair and one gray eye and one purple.
“Hey! What do you think your doing!” Cole exclaimed. “You really think you can beat the two of us? Ha! You couldn’t handle Lilith!” He raised his axe again into battle position.
Ark walked towards Cole and Lilith and said one sentence. “Oh no I could easily handle Lilith… now, earlier, not only was i underestimating her but also I was trying to juggle three things fighting her, protecting my friends and siblings, oh and that other thing as well.” Ark spoke. Lily growled as her eyes became inflamed once again.
“Yeah, well, you haven't seen the surface of how much power i harbor. Also, chasing some stupid kids really takes a toll on the body. She said, reminiscing on there earlier skirmish. “You think you're dumb silver can harm me in my true from? Ask Cole, nothing can defeat me in than form. JAHAADA!” She shouted and a dark mass formed behind her. “Oh, I forgot, you never met Jahaada since she was asleep during our last battle.” She said, scratching the mass’s non-existent chin. Lily’s forehead began to glow a searing black color as a symbol is revealed. “Implanted in me since my birth. This is the mark of Jahaada, or the Demon of Darkness, as she better known.” She boasted. (I'll show you the symbol in band) “My mother was executed for gifting me with her as a baby, since “all dark magic is illegal and should be banished”, well, they never met me! They never knew what I was capable of! Was it always perfect, no! But, nevertheless, she keeps me safe, and she’s hungry for blood~.” Ark stopped moving and stabbed his katana in the ground. Then he closed his eyes and concentrated. Lilith rolled her eyes with boredom and sighed. A small black flame dancing on her each of her fingertips as an automatic reaction. “Would you cut it out with all your childish tricks?” Ark stayed silent his eyes still closed. Lilith rolled her eyes again as she lazily shot a fireball to a random target on a nearby tree. Ark moved, but it seemed that he only moved an inch and the fireball dissipated before it hit the target.
Cole looked at Ark and walked slowly toward him, swinging his axe in lazy arcs. Lilith smirked. ‘Finally, something interesting!’ She thought as she joined Cole’s side. Her blade glinted in the dark flames of her eyes dancing with pride and glee. He expected an easy kill considering it was two versus one and he was doing literally nothing. All of the sudden, everyone froze, no-one could move. Ark opened his eyes. His left eye was still white and emotionless, but his right eye was different. It had taken the shape of a moon, a markings spread across his face, covering it with specks like stars enshrouding his skin in a silvery blanket. Then Ark picked up his katana and cut of his left arm. His face showed no response to it than, from the wound, mist poured out. A black and purple smoke covered in the same specs as the ones on his face formed into the shape of an arm. Then he took his Katana and swung it at Cole.
Cole lept out of the way, swinging his axe at Ark, “So, your a god huh? Real special!” He said sarcastically. Ark’s left eye turned red and then he dashed a Cole blocking the swing with his arm which thrust the axe away then he used his new arm and punched him right in the gut. Lilith cracked her neck and sighed.
“So, Jahaada is not happy….” She mumbled as the demon absorbed herself into Lily.
Ark looked over at the demon forming and jumped towards it as well his eye still glowing a deep red.
Cole, got up grabbed his axe and fed lilith some energy to help her, then he jumped back at Ark, swinging his axe again.
Ark rebounded and smashed Cole in the face with another puch sending him flying backwards into a tree.
Jahaada took her over completely. “FINALLY! Something good for once! Now, a chance for a “dead” goddess to face off with another god! Man, a battle like this hasn't been seen in millenia!” The goddess spoke through Lily, her voice being changed from a whiny brat type to a seductive mistress type. Then, the angel/wolf hybrid grew taller than the mountain tops, almost as high as the Celestial Dome itself. Cole got up, looked at Ark and Lilith, who had now become the old goddess Jahaada,
“Jesus, what the hell is this day?” He questioned, since this day had been really weird. He picked his axe back up and brought it into position, but didn’t go into battle just yet.Ark jumped upwards above the treetops and slashed with his katana slashing at Jahaada’s arm. Jahaada laughed at his feeble attempt.
“A good try, but not good enough!” She bellowed as she drew the clouds over the light of the moon, blocking it's shine.Ark growled, the star marking on his face fading with the moonlight diminishing. Jahaada smirked and summoned the essence of pure darkness, enhancing the night and making it harder for light to shine through. Ark flinched, his eye sight adapting to the sudden darkness. His left eye still glowing in the darkness, it’s red shine pierced the shadows like a spear. Jahaada growled and used her giant battle axe to swing at Ark. “Get out of my way, pest!” She boomed, her voice echoing throughout the emptying city. Ark watched in horror as the axee not only swing at him, but towards the town. He lunged toward it, using his katana to try and deflect it, but the sheer weight of it knocked him out of the way. The axee shattered his katana and he plunged toward the ground. The axee struck the town, demolishing it with one stroke. Ark watched on his mind blacking out as he plummeted. At the last second the masked man jumped out of the trees and tackled him, sending them both into the nearby bushes. Jahaada laughed, not even caring a small town was destroyed. “Once I become Supreme Ruler of the Sky again, I shall not forget your vallor, dearest King Cole. When I become the master again, everyone will have nothing to fear. With me, this planet shall live to be children of the Empress of the Night!” Her voice rang throughout the entire world with her pride and valor. “Now, I shall let my assistant rest, she has had it hard enough since I took her over.” With that, she began to shrink down and become Lily once more. Ark awoke to the Man pouring a potion into Ark’s mouth. Ark got up suddenly and coughed, the potion had reverted his eye and most of his arm back to normal, but his hand was still carried the starry night markings. Lily rubbed her eyes and then collapsed, taking the quickest power nap ever. She woke up and looked up to see Cole’s face bearing over her.
“So, that was, uh, very dramatic!” Cole said, helping her up.
“You could say that again” Lily said, taking his hand am hoping back up to her feet.
“What was that?” He questioned, very confused about literally everything about this day. “Like if someone doesn’t start giving me answers soon i’m gonna go crazy!” Lily chuckled and smiled at his confusion.
“Well. That was my demon, Jahaada. My mother gave her to me to protect me when I was born. That's why she died, and that's also why I'm gender fluid. Messing with dark magic back then cost you your life, I guess. I wouldn't know, I was just a baby.” She said with a shrug. “It's a blessing and a curse, some days…..” She thought back on the day of her death and sighed. (Lily’s theme song for her backstory is: I Wouldn't Mind by He Is We)
Ark stumbled over to the shattered blade of the katana and watched as it slowly turned back into mist. The mist, then taking the shape of a human, a female to be more precise. She had cuts all over her and Ark cried, something he hadn’t done since he was a baby, but the girl opened her eyes and looked at Ark with mixture of happiness and sadness in her eyes. She opened her mouth and said something but he couldn’t hear her.
“What’s your name?” Ark asked the girl. She smiled, “May… don’t forget it… Artemis.” she said then she reformed into mist and dissipated. Lily was distracted by Cole and trying to explain to him everything that has been going on. When she turned to look for danger, it was already too late. Ark stood up the girl’s last words rang through his mind. “Artemis who’s that?” he whispered then he heard a voice in the back of his mind. [so you finally remembered huh [Ark?] The voice asked. Ark looked around for whoever held the voice. [You want help, but you can’t admit it. Here, let me help you] The voice said and Ark’s starry hand glowed. He looked up and saw Lilith his eyes darkened changing from light blue to pitch black Lily gasped in shock as she saw Ark. All she had time for, was for her pupils to dilate before he launched his attack. Ark launched forward, his hand going straight into Lilith's gut. Lily let out a blood curdling scream as she is flung backwards across the planet. As she flew away Ark looked at Cole with the same intensity as he had with Lilith. As she flew her mind was opened and she began to weep.
“James…..” Was the last thing she whispered before her world went dark. Cole looked back in the direction in which she disappeared in and then turned back. He looked back at Ark, making up his mind and and saying, “Okay, you know what? I’m just gonna follow her instead of you punching me…” Cole spun back around and used some of his power to yeet himself after Lily. “YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!”
Ark’s eyes changed to brown and he laughed sadly. “There’s more to this world than anyone knows.” He muttered before collapsing to the ground. The starry shimmering on his hand faded, leaving 5 dots in the center of his hand that glowed, and then died out as Ark lost consciousness. His last sight was of the man, Rin, and Kade running towards him.
