A/N
I know that this is already chapter 4 and I know that I may should have mentioned/ said this at the beginning, but who cares right? The story is just starting anyway. For anyone who have been reading my story, thank you so much! I never thought that anyone would read this childish story that I thought of when I was 12 lol and for that you guys have mine outmost gratitude.
Anyway down to business. As you may all have guessed it (from our character’s name), this story plays out in Japan ( again I was 12 and was obsessed with anime/manga still am tho). Which brings me to the next thing. There are going to be some Japanese words inside this story and a little bit of the culture. The Japanese words however are translated to English of course, if I feel the need to explain that certain word like why I choice it or what it means in Japanese there will be a * behind that word. You can see the description/translation of that word at the end of each chapter. You will understand it when you see it.
I hope I explained it well. Now let’s get back to the chapter!
As soon as the bell for the lunch break rung I ran out of the class. I was running towards the class were Aiko was.
“Aiko!” I yelled out her name. I just wanted to talk to her about the dream as soon as possible.
Aiko who was still in her bent over position trying to get her lunchbox* out of her bag was startled by my love call.
She glared at me and gave me the ‘what the hell’ look. I just beckoned her to move her little ass faster.
“What? Couldn’t it wait until we sat outside?” she asked as she was walking towards me. I shook my head in refusal and pulled her away from her classroom towards the school yard.
As we sat down at our usual spot I flipped. “Aiko, I just had the weirdest dream! I mean I know that I am weird, but this dream was especially weird. It even felt weird, like a memory.” I just kept babbling away. “Ugh! I shouldn’t have eaten those jelly beans with energy drink before I went to bed! Mom warned me about it you know.” I kept talking faster and faster because I started to become more nervous. “Oh my god, what If I’m starting to hallucinate.” I gasped. “What if I am sick?”
“Aiko, help m- “I couldn’t finish my next sentence as Aiko was using her thumb and index finger to close my chattering mouth.
“Okay, okay drama queen. Breath, breath.” She said.
I did as she said and started inhale and exhale slowly.
“Good, now tell me again what happened but slowly this time.”
I nodded. I started from the beginning again and explained everything to her. How I saw the woman who just looked like me holding the baby. How the men in the white lab coats took her away from the baby, but even more important how the baby had the same eye color as me.
“So, let me get this straight. You basically think that that dream is a memory from your past and that the woman that you saw was your mom?” She asked a little skeptical.
I nodded. “Yeah.”
Aiko crossed her arms and looked at me. “Okay, so why did you think that eating jellybeans with energy drink was a good idea?”
“I’m not joking Aiko, I genuinely think that what I saw was a memory.”
She waved her hand in front of me making sure that I was awake. “Umm...Hello? You already have a mom and a dad, remember? Also, you always had weird dreams. Remember when you said that you dreamed being a fairy flying trough the woods with the animals along side you?” She pointed out.
“But my parents don’t even look like me!” I said as I threw my arms in the air in frustration. “Also, I had that dream numerous times, it could be a sign.” I pouted a little.
Aiko sighed. “Ayako it was just a dream. You were just dead tired like always an- “
I cut her off before she could finish what she wanted to say. “I was crying, Aiko. I was screaming for that woman in my dream.” I looked at her with unwavering eyes.
I was clasping against my chest. “I can still feel my heart hammering against my chest and the blood being drained from my face. I know that I’ve had weird dreams before this but none of those dreams made me yearn for it. The way she looked at me, the way she used her voice which was laced in thick layer of motherly love.” Tears started to form in my eyes gain.
“Are you really going to tell me that my brain is that smart enough to make a scene like that?” I could hear my voice cracking as I was talking.
It made me believe even more that it wasn’t a dream.
Aiko smiled sadly seeing me like that. “Hey.” She said calmly as she was stroking my arm to sooth me.
“Look even if it was real do you even know where to start looking for and what about your parents? You know the two people who have been showering with love for years? They were there for you since birth. They may not look like you, but that’s because of a defect gene remember?”
“Yeah…” I said lowly.
“Also, even a nightmare can leave your heart hammering for days.” She said like it was a matter of fact.
“That’s true.” I said.
As I calmed down I realized that what she said was true. This dream could have been just like my other dreams and I already have an awesome mom for that matter and that won’t ever change.
I sighed. “You’re right.”
Aiko smiled at me relieved that I’ve calmed down. She stood up from the grass where we were sitting on and dust herself off. She puts out her hand for me to grab on.
“C’mon, after three hours we will be going to your house to celebrate your birthday.”
I was laughing as I was grabbing her hand. “Let’s get out of this hell hole as soon as possible.”
Aiko laughed. “No need to tell me twice girl.”
But even though Aiko is right, there’s still something not right here. No one in my family line got my appearance. Even if you got a defect gene there should be someone in my family with the same defect gene, but there’s no one like that.
There’s something else that I haven’t told Aiko yet.
My ears have been ringing since this morning and it became worse after I saw that dream.
What’s going on?
