I held my scythe sorrowfully as I looked at the ghost of Marley. She did not speak. She only gave a look of sadness. The brown haired Rit stood beside me as Lyndin, the angel waited by a tree.
"She Is creepy, I can't believe Nympisis sent us here." Rit said. I glared over to Rit.
As I did from the ground dark creatures appeared. Hooded figures of inhuman nature emerged.
"What are those things!?" Rit gasped. I readied my blade.
"They're known as shadow stalkers. Dark creatures that roam these Pacum Bellum."
I dashed past them and sliced through the creatures. One appeared behind me as their hand slashed toward me. I turned around and saw, Lyndin stab It through the chest as It dissipated.
"So, uh, Morte, you say you not only know her, but an angel claiming to be called Nightmare was encountered by you?" Lyndin asked as he stabbed through another one.
I lit my hand on fire and threw a fireball at the creatures.
"And I'm not stopping until I get my revenge on him." I replied. Rit looked to Lyndin before nodding.
Rit sliced through one.
"Then It seems our goals align, we were told that we'd find allies here." Rit said as the shadow creatures combined into one giant one.
I looked to them skeptically.
"I don't handle friends well. Every time I make one, they stab me In the back." I replied coldly as I dodged out of the way of the creature slamming It's fist down. Lyndin flew up and pointed his blade at this creature of ours. He got swatted quickly out of the air from the other hand. Rit yelled and threw his blade Into the shin of the beast. It yelled as he turned to me.
"Hey, friendship ain't exactly my strong suit either buddy." Rit said as suddenly a wave of purple force exploded out and pushed Rit and I back. I landed hard against a tree. I groaned as I looked upon the beast slowly approaching. Rit groaned as he rose his sword and stood In front of me protecting me. He grunted hurt.
"It'd be pretty pathetic if we died like this." Rit stammered. I smirk as I stand.
"Don't worry...one friend I can always count on is death." I replied as purple wings sprouted from my back. Suddenly from In front of us the creature was lifted Into the air. In the air, the ghost of Marley floated. She glared as It slammed down into the ground face first. Cold and staring she slammed the beast into a tree, with her darkened eyes. She floated around and the tree grew thorned vines and wrapped all around the creature. With a devastating and creepy smile she floated In front of the creature kicked It in the torso and It exploded.
Slowly she floated to the ground and stared blankly. Lyndin stood up and gave a bewildered expression.
"Look, If you join our little club, we'll lead you to Nightmare for your revenge." Rit said looking at me.
"And ghost girl can join too! Please!" Lyndin called.
I glared at them and sighed.
"Fine, I'll join you. But as soon as I'm done, I'm leaving, taking her and properly putting her to rest." I said coldly. They nodded and I motioned for them to give Marley and me some space. I looked at her, her cold gaze spaced out and away.
"Marley...I'm sorry...all these years you've been trapped like this...I'll take care of you..." I said holding back a slight stutter. She didn't respond. I gripped my scythe.
"That being said...One more adventure..." I said. I nodded to her and looked to Lyndin and Rit.
"Let's go." I demanded.
