Chapter 6

Jade couldn't really help himself and ended up devouring the meal as well. It took all his willpower however, to use utensils properly instead of ripping the food apart and eating it with his bare hands.

Jade was used to not really eating near people and mostly ever ate finger foods so what was the point of keeping up appearances? But he ate like a normal human being now considering the General was watching him like a hawk as if he disappeared something bad would happen.

Jade grabbed the spoon after eating all the chicken and tasted the soup.

Mhmmmmmmmm…………… he closed his eyes in rapture, glad no one could see him do so.

Ryuu had passed out on the floor his face still on the platter.

Jade slowly ate the soup, it had a cheesy flavor to it and was very thick.

“Is the meal to your liking?” The General suddenly asked.

Jade slowly nodded feeling almost intoxicated from how good the food was.

When you dont ever get to eat really good hot food you sure as hell appreciate it when you finally get to.

Ryuu softly snored by his foot and Jade smiled down at his dragon.

The orb in the Generals hand pulsed yellow again and the man seemed to relax.

Jade cocked his head in confusion.

“What's the ball thing in your hand for?” He asked.

“It's a communication system. Our King or higher ups can give commands from it.”

“....There's someone higher than you giving you orders right now? ….your King?...why am I suddenly a Prince?” Jade asked hesitantly.

The General looked down at the orb and it pulsed yellow twice.

“I am not allowed to say.” The man said as he looked back at Jade.

“...............okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk…………..” Jade said in confusion.

“We will bring you to the capital so you may meet the King.”

Jade blinked.

“Why?” He asked.

“It's that not the reason for your visit? To meet our King?” The General asked.

“.......uhhhhh sure…………. I uh meant why are you uh helping me?” He lied.

“The King commands us to.”

…..That didn't really answer his question.

Jade looked back down at Ryuu who was still passed out and felt a slight bit of panic start to build up. If Ryuu was passed out… how would he get away if these people were bad?

After he finished his meal the man who brought it out cleaned up and Jade was doing everything he could to not pass out as well.

……….It was a lot food for him to have eaten in one go, maybe not for the rest of the men in the building but for him he was stuffed almost beyond what he could endure.

“We have chocolate cake as as a dessert if Crown Prince Jade wishes to partake.” The General said.

“....................................I do but I might actually die if I do…….” He groaned.

“Why?”

“..........That was a lot of food just now….” Jade put his head on the table.

“Really? I thought it was a relatively small amount. We figured a smaller portion would make it so you could enjoy more dessert.”

Jade groaned.

“Y'all are beasts…………”

Suddenly the orb in the Generals hand pulsed again and Jade looked back up.

“.....Is being a beast bad?” The General asked after the orb had finished pulsing.

“uhhh… I wasn't insulting you guys… it's kinda a compliment to be called a beast sometimes? You know like being strong or cool?”

The orb pulsed again.

“soooo you like big strong guys…?” The Generals face twisted strangely as if he had tasted something sour.

….The heck did he just ask me? Jade thought.

“uhhhhhhhhhhh…… I guess…..?”

The orb flashed several more times.

“Would… would you like some of that cake I mentioned?” The General looked extremely uncomfortable.

The man from before brought out a piece of the cake before Jade could even reply. He stared at it in dismay. His stomach was aching from eating so much already and now his favorite flavor was being taunted in front of him.

He pouted and sighed.

The orb suddenly started to flash crazily and the General seemed to blush.

Jade looked at it and cocked his head.

“Your King gives out a lot of orders?” He said hesitantly.

“More like he's having something similar to a panic attack right now.” The General grimaced.

“Is he ok? Does he need help or something?”

The orb flashed softly.

The General blushed and turned his face away.

“He- hes fine.”

Jade wondered if the King was actually ok.

“Is he sick or something?” Jade cocked his head.

The General mumbled something but shook his head no.

“I am going to go check on my troops, my men will stay here and take care of any of your needs. We will get you a change of clothing.” He walked out the door and the orb flashed at an insane speed.

Jade was not 100% certain but he thought the General may have said the King was lovesick?

He shook his head and stabbed at the piece of cake,hoping he could finish it.

Certainly not, he thought.
