I walked to find Zeke since Phoenix has been gone for a while. I saw him exited school and I ran after him. "Zeke are you alright? You worried me sick." worry flooded my veins as he hugged me with tears down his face. "What happened? Phoenix went to check on you and she never came back after a while" I confessed, "m-my mom...she..she's gone." Zeke said as tears flooded his face. This is so sudden..how did this happen?

I exited the lunch room since lunch was over and I saw Phoenix walking down the hall out of the ladies bathroom. "So what's up with Zeke?" I asked and Phoenix shrugged. I sighed, "Zeke always does this and it's not your fault you didn't know, but he has trust issues. Like he has to trust you in friendship level 7 to tell you what's wrong with him and with Jayden, he's not even on friendship level anymore." What does she mean by that? "Why isn't Jayden on friendship level? Haven't they been friends for a while...well at least I think they have I just moved here after all" said Phoenix and I laughed? "Phoenix, there dating. Hasn't it been obvious?" I said and her eyes went wide. "Don't worry, that's everyone's reaction because it doesn't look like they're dating. It just looks like their good friends, to be honest with you. Anyways I'm going to clean off our table ok?" I walked to the cafeteria until..., "Hey Ash? You wanna play DragonKnight if you want. I know it's a terrible time because of-"I interrupted Phoenix, "No it's fine, I think Zeke needs time and we should give it to him. Let's play after school after clubs are over because I have those" I said. "Okay, I'll see you then." I threw away my lunch then walked to class.

-Zeke-

"H-Hey...c-can I get a slip to g-go home" Holding back even a tear was hard. "Sure, just give me a second to print one out, I ran out of my last copy" The lady went to the back to print it out which left me and Jayden waiting, which for the first time felt off...because it was quiet. "Here are your copies and make sure to call in to let us know when you're returning to school," She said and we exited the school walking off the grounds until she showed up. "Hi, Zeke!" Me wondering why I ever dated this girl is beyond me. "Come on Jayden I'm not dealing with this right now" I grabbed his hand and walked to my mother's apartment. "Zeke, what's wrong can you talk to me?" Gosh, she's so annoying, how did I even date her? "LEAVE ME ALONE!" I yelled and kept walking. The pain was too much right now to deal with that.

My phone rang while walking to lunch and I went to the bathroom to answer it. "Hey, Ray. Haven't talked to you in a while." I Said. "I know..but Zeke can I tell you something..it's bad." I heard Ray fighting off tears. "What is it? Is something wrong? Is everyone okay?" I asked with worry in my voice. "Yeah, Wyn and I are fine, but mom..she died in a car crash.." Ray started to cry and my heart shattered into a million pieces. "I know it's hard...Wyn is crying her heart out..I'm just trying to be strong.." I hung up since I couldn't take it anymore and slid down the wall hitting the floor crying.

"I've never seen this side of you before Zeke, it's kind of weird because your personality is usually full of rainbows and unicorns," said Jayden. "Cuteness also has a pinch of evil, you do realize that right?" I asked. "Yeah, but Zeke...you don't look like the kind of person that would be evil" I grabbed his hand and continued to walk to my mother's apartment. "Zeke it's taped off, but no one's there," Jayden confessed. There was police tape everywhere, but no one was there. "Hands up. No one is allowed to enter the building" the officer said. "This is my friend's home," said Jayden. "We know, a neighbor told us it was." The officer walked downstairs and We followed seeing the police come, "GET OUT OF THE BUILDING NOW OR WE'LL SHOOT!" They yelled and I grabbed Jayden's hand and ran. We stopped at a tree and peaked at what they were doing.
