"I won't ask twice." Joseph hissed in his ear and Marc gave up. "Fine." He said and Joseph got off just as quickly as he got on. His eyes trailed to Joseph's chest where a wound had appeared. "Huh. I didn't notice THAT." He said sitting up. Joseph's eyes flickered to his chest and swore. He ignored the comment and threw bandages at Marc. "Clean your wounds." He growled and crawled into his bed.
Marc sighed and applied new bandages, brushing his teeth and turning off the lights. He heard a creak as Joseph rolled out of his bed. Marc rolled over and saw him on the floor. He looked peaceful and he saw a bruise formed on his prominent cheek bone. Marc climbed out of his bed and carefully lifted the blanket.
He let out a small gasp as he saw what was carved into his chest. He pulled back the blanket and Joseph stirred. Marc jumped back at Joseph waking up. His eyes flared with anger when he realized what Marc was doing. He snarled "The hell are you doing fuck boy." His eyes were narrowed and Marc's eyes widened.
Joseph scrambled to his feet, still swearing and grabbed a shirt. He put it on and put on some shoes. "Don't follow me." He snarled and slammed the door on his way out. Marc checked the time and saw that it was midnight. He sighed and sat down on his bed. He stood up and took out one of his small hitting bags. He strung it up and started boxing.
He broke a sweat; pounding on the bag relentlessly. He would hear a click and the door shut. There was sweat dripping in his eyes as he turned around to see where the noise came from. Joseph stood and shifted uncomfortably at his gaze. Marc just grunted and went back to punching his punching bag.
"H-Hey are you ok?" Joseph asked timidly. Marc whirled around pinned him against the door. "Don;' act like you give a fuck after you fucking called me a fuck boy." He snapped at him. Joseph's wide eyes were wide with fear. Marc glared at him and Joseph stammered, "I- I'm sorry I just get really annoyed and scared." He whimpered and Marc released him.
He stalked to the bathroom and Joseph could hear the water turn on. Joseph's heart hammered in his chest and he pressed his hands against his face. He groaned and flopped on his bed. Marc came out and ignored him, looking at his alarm clock.
He swore and changed into the school uniform. Joseph checked the time and changed too. He was starting to leave when Marc grabbed his arm. He flinched and Marc sighed. "Look just forget what I said." He ran his hand down the side of his face looking at Joseph.
"Fine whatever." Joseph shot back and pulled his arm away. He was too close. He backed up and Marc pushed past him. Joseph trailed after him; going to eat. He entered the cafeteria and Nina waved them both over. He stalked over to the table and sat down. 'WHoah what is wrong with you." Roy said smirking. Joseph sat down a little ways away.
"HE" Marc pointed at Joseph, "Decided to yell at me at midnight so of course I'm mad." He glared at Joseph who shrank back a bit and Nina smacked the back of Marc's head. "Don't you remember what Milo told us." She hissed and Joseph's head shot up at his brother's name. His demeanor turned from shy to extremely mad. "What did he tell you?" He smacked his hands on the table and he stood up.
"See." Marc said. "He is a little fucker in disguise." Joseph snarled and tackled him; they fell to the floor in a clatter. The entire cafeteria went quiet and Milo rushed over with Rosie in tow. Joseph was snarling and punching him. Marc kicked him off and pounced; punching him in the face. He hit him in the jaw, knocking him out cold.
"Shit." He shook Joseph. Milo yelled and picked Joseph up in his arms. "Christ. YOU LITERALLY COULD GIVE LESS OF A DAMN ABOUT MAYBE YOU WERE THE ONE WHO PISSED HIM OFF." Milo yelled and ran out. Nina gasped and ran after Milo. Rosie narrowed her eyes and grabbed Marc's arm. "Come with me." Marc tried to pull away but her grip was surprisingly strong.
She brought him out of the cafeteria and sat him on a bench. "Look, I'm Rosie and that was Milo. We are his siblings. It may seem that he is an asshole and that he is weird and angry but he is just fucked up in the mind. Look our mom died and our dad abuses him. That's why he is so skinny he gets neglected. His fight responses are always on so he can explode sometimes. It doesn't excuse him but you just made it worse. Just please keep in mind that while he can be caring one minute; he can rage the next." She stopped talking so Marc could take it in.
He shook his head. Rosie stood up and walked away. He stood up and walked to the dorms. He didn't give a damn about not going to class. He opened the door to see Milo talking to Joseph. They both looked up and Milo started yelling at him. "NO GET OU-" Joseph shut him up. "What do you want?" He asked coldly and Marc shifted. "I'm sorry." Milo sighed and stood up, pushing past Marc.
Joseph watched as he left and ignored him. "Look I am really-" Joseph interrupted him "Save it." Marc shrank back at his tone and grabbed his bag, heading to class. When he got back to the dorm there was no one there. He just shook his head and did his regular nighttime routine. He fell asleep and when he woke up, Joseph's bed was messed up and his entire side of the room was a mess.
"What the hell." He mumbled and got ready for school. He paid no attention to it and for a few days just ignored how Joseph had seemingly vanished. Nina,Roy, and Shawn were mad at him so he spent his days in the library. Marc was reading and his book go slammed on the table. He looked up and Milo stood over him glaring. "Come with me." Milo snapped and pulled Marc with him.
"Jesus you all look so small but you are strong as hell." He mumbled and Milo put him in the greenhouse. Nina was there along with Rosie, Shawn, and Roy. "Where's Joseph?" Marc asked and they shared glances. "He left in the middle of the night." Rosie said and Marc's heart stilled. He blinked and Milo rolled his eyes. "Look. We know where he is. Just we need you to do it." Rosie said, not looking pleased. "Why?" Marc asked and Nina replied. "He said in his text that he wanted to speak to you alone."
Marc rolled his eyes and muttered "So cliche." Nina pulled him as the group walked to the library. "Wait he was here the entire time?" He asked and Nina pushed him to the far end of the library. Joseph peeked around the corner and paled. As if he could pale anymore. Marc sighed and walked around the corner.
"Look-" Marc got interrupted by Joseph kissing him. Joseph immediately backed up and started apologizing. Marc laughed and grabbed his arm. He pulled him closer and kissed him softly. "Are you really that shy?" He mumbled and Joseph nodded. "This is weird." He mumbled and and Marc sat down pulling Joseph into his lap.
He softly stroked Joseph as he started crying. "You haven't experienced happiness?" He asked and Joseph nodded not trusting his voice. "My mom was sick so I was mentally abused until she died, then it got physical." He whispered and Marc hugged him tighter. "Look I was never really mad at you, I just got frustrated." Marc whispered into his ear. "I- I I'm sorry for blowing up; I'll try to be better. I've had a crush on you since the first day I saw you."
Joseph laughed while saying that and Marc laughed after. "I can't ask for a better story." He said and kissed the top of Joseph's hair. "Now let's get you back to the dorm. I need to wash and brush your hair." Marc patted his thigh and Joseph nodded. "Problem resolved." Marc said after seeing Nina's face.
~Back to present day~
"What are you thinking about?" Joseph asked and Marc smiled. "How we met and started dating." He answered and Joseph smiled. "Yeah. We still have our ups and downs but have I done better?" He asked and Marc nodded tackling him and kissing his mouth and lips.
