I walk to the convenient store in hopes of thinking of an idea. The sky started to grow darker, I could tell that a storm was brewing. When I got there, the rain began to pour out of the sky. There was no point in walking back. I stood under the shade of the overhang when an employee came to me.
"No Loitering! Either buy something or leave," he told me with a glare in his eye. I looked at him for a few seconds and then ask, "Is there any opportunity that I could work here? I mean ASAP?" The employee looked confused from the response and then said, "You'll have to ask my manager that, but as of now, you can't just stand there."
I gave him a shrug and walked into the store. He gave me directions to his manager and let me on my way. When I got to the manager's door, I began sweating in nervousness. I waited there for a few minutes, trying to figure out what to say. Finally, I was about to give it a knock when the door flings open, just missing my face by a centimeter.
There stood a teenage girl, a familiar teenage girl, looking straight at me. My face was frozen in shock as I stood there with mixed emotions. I trying to sputter out something, but my mouth wouldn't move. There was a moment of silence until she broke the silence with, "Kyle, you got the job. No more questions asked."
