Could you, please, look for any change?.. A dime.

I shove my hand into one pocket and then into another only to find nothing but a hole in the inner lining. A tall man next in cue after me gave me his inpatient look. But I had to take my time with this. After all the check out lady had such a nice voice, so I was simply obliged to satisfy her request. I prepared two of my most long and agile fingers and methodically crawled down inside the hole hoping to find some long missing treasure of coin.

Fuc..! - I jerked my hand back suddenly.

It’s fine - the lady replied giving me the rest along with her pleasant smile - Just bring it later - she added kindly.

I took the money, a grocery bag and the tall man’s gaze and quickly left the mall.

“What the hell was it?” - I was silently asking nobody while trying to closely inspect the pocket standing outside now.

“A bug?...” I could swear I felt something brushed against my fingers back there at the check out when I was digging in the pocket.

“A mouse?...” After all, I have bought this jacket at a flea market not so long ago. Who knows what could dwell in it?..

I put the bag down and began patting myself all over my waist and chest. If it wasn’t for a bone chilling cold outside I would probably had took the jacket off to examine it thoroughly later at home. But for now I had to be satisfied with this quick check. After all I haven’t found anything abnormal. “I dad just glitched a bit.” - I’ve concluded and walked further after deciding not to bother about it all anymore.

But I still was wondering whether I be able to find any coins up there, so I plunged my fingers deep into fabriky intestines of my jacket once more again. After squinting my eyes and sticking my tongue out for half a minute I finally gave up and just walked further.

...Up until I felt something crawling up my pocket! I slowed down first to make sure I feel what I feel. But then I froze in place realizing, that it actually was happening. Terrified of knowing what could it be I looked down at my jacket. It felt no bigger than a mouse at first. , but then it “grew” and became more like rat-sized. As if it was appearing straight out of nowhere. Suddenly the flap of the pocket moved and shiny round object emerged. A coin… A coin held by two thin human finders.

I threw the grocery bag away and haphazardly began unzipping the jacket. At the moment when I had flung it on the ground a whole forearm was sticking out of it. The seam cracked and whole shoulder appeared.. head… torso... Finally a whole man stood upright on that place. Bald and thin he looked moderate. He tossed the jacket away with his foot dressed in mirror-polished shoe and shrugged his shoulders to fix extremely well fitted suit.

It was so surreal I couldn’t believe that it was actually happening. I couldn’t comprehend, yet I felt compelled to observe so I followed the man, as he casually walked toward the mall.

Eventually we both had returned to the place where it all began.

“What could be his here?”

The man walked to the check-out and silently lifted his arm up to the cassier lady, who served me earlier. She looked at him confused at first, but upon seeing a dime held between his fingers she recognized his gesture and and lend her hand to take the coin giving me a wide smile from behind the cash register.
