As the sun slowly crept over the horizon, sending orange light through the forest and across the ground, Eli crept over rocks and fallen branches silently. He was on his way to see Liam again, but wanted to be slightly earlier... of course, no one ever wondered where Eli went to every day. Simply because no one cared.

Eli's hooves gracefully fell on the mossy ground, a small smile on his face as he enjoyed the feeling against his pads. Though behind him a being followed, creeping silently through the dark morning shadows. Its hooves and antlers left shadows on the forest floor, yet Eli still didn't realize he was being followed.

As he reached the opening in the forest he found Liam wasn't there yet. Eli was definitely happy about that outcome since he wasn't sure when Liam showed up, just that he was typically there first. 

He walked over to where he typically found Liam sitting, a grassy patch where the sun always hit his golden hair so perfectly. Eli felt heat rush to his face as he thought about the way Liam smiled and his perfectly toned skin. His tail wagging whenever Eli scratched the fur behind his ears or the space between his shoulders.

Eli laid down on his back and closed his eyes, letting the sunlight slowly warm his skin and face. He breathed steadily and listened around to the rest of the forest. The distant sound of bords could be heard. What sounded like the beautiful song of the mockingbird. 

He hadn't heard the person. He didn't even notice them until he was being held down, a hand clamped over his mouth to prevent him from screaming. His eyes shot open as he attempted to fight the person, his ears were perked in panic.

While he expected a predator, the person holding him to the ground was none other than one of his herd-mates. A fellow buck. One of the ones who had been harassing him for as long as his father had been dead. His name was Jacob and he was decently handsome, the quietest of the three assholes constantly bothering Eli. 

He always just went with the crowd and it was quite strange to see him alone without his two friends. He had brunette hair that was barely an inch long in the back with a faux hawk that fell lazily in his baby blue eyes. He didn't have any blemishes but did have a cut in his right ear along with a point of his antlers had broken off. When he had been asked what had happened he said nothing, but Eli knew it had been the other two who had shamed him in such a way. 

Eli stared into his blue eyes in shock and confusion, struggling sightly against him, but it was no use. "Don't scream. I want to tell you something..." He whispered it as if the far off mockingbirds could fly back and tell the others. Though there was genuine worry in his eyes, yet... something else also resided there.

Eli nervously nodded slowly as if asking him to continue, best to just let him get all this information out before Liam arrived. Who knew when he would be here, but when he was... this buck had to be gone.

"I had to follow you... You don't understand... The reason I dislike when the others attack you..." He looked away, keeping Eli pinned down and his mouth covered. There was a moment where he hesitated before he looked back into Eli's eyes. His cheeks were red and his eyes, wide. "I'm in love with you, Eli... Every moment I can't help but think about you..." He leaned in closer "Every day I want to have you more and more, but..." 

Eli was scared. The look on Jacob's face was not love. Nor was it lust. It was crazed obsession. "I can't around others! But here you are... and we're alone!" He grinned, his breathing was increasing in pace and his grip tightened and became more violent. Yet all Eli cared about was Liam. "Nothing's stopping us! I'll mate you here and now!" 

Jacob forced his lips to Eli's moving his hand out of the way just in time. Eli struggled and panicked, his mind thinking a million things at once, but the only one he could focus on was Liam. Liam's promise. 

Jacob pulled back and Eli tried to scream but only got one shriek out of Liam's name before a hand was clamped over his mouth again. "Don't scream, Eli! There's no reason to scream! This is love!" Eli felt tears rolling down his cheeks as he thought back about how strange Jacob was compared to the other two. If he was this deranged, Eli liked it better when he was quiet.

Jacob hooked Eli's kicking legs on his hips and ignored Eli's clawing at his hand. He could care less what Eli thought at the moment. In his mind, he believed Eli would want him once this was over.

Jacob hooked his fingers on Eli's cotton shorts and began to tug when a loud snarling caused both the two deer to freeze. Looking over, Eli's eyes met that of a wolf's. He looked terrifying, his stance and bared teeth made him look like a monster. He lunged from the bushes, barreling into the buck on top of Eli, and slamming it into the ground. 

The wolf tore into Jacob's chest with his claws and ripped chunks of flesh out with his teeth. Blood splattered against the ground and splashed against Eli's face. Eli stared in horror, and it took him a moment to identify the monster wolf that was ruthlessly tearing a buck apart out of wrath as his lover. Liam.
