“Xia, have you asked about his name?” Han Lian Ai analyzed. Her eyes shone, she was very wary of something. And that made Han Wu Xia worried about her and the deaf boy.
“What?” Han Wu Xia raised his eyebrow. He wondered why she asked. Hoping that it was not because…
Han Wu Xia had veins popping on his forehead, he pulled her closer to him and whispered on her ears. “Stop treating him like a criminal!”
“Are you kidding me, he could be a spy!” Han Lian Ai fought back. “I think I know him, and the people I know aren’t good people, ah!”
“Huh?” Han Wu Xia raised an eyebrow. “Then, how about Royal Mother?”
“She was a special case…” Han Lian Ai didn’t dare to look straight at Han Wu Xia. “Most people I know, who are still living somehow, aren’t good people.”
“Just… Just what kind of life you have been leading?” Han Wu Xia raised his brows annoyedly. “Anyway, it is out of question. You can’t expect me to be suspicious of the poor boy.”
“Just ask his name, ah!” Han Lian Ai clicked her tongue, she became more and more impatient.
“Fine.” He replied unwillingly.
He took steps forward and raised his hand, giving a hand signal to the boy. The boy replied, Just asking for a name was longer than Han Lian Ai though. She crossed her arms while waiting for them to finish.
Just then, she saw the opened door. The scenery outside was charming her, the white flower was blooming and enchanting the night.
The light was coming from above and highlighted the solemn garden, letting Han Lian Ai eyes ventured through.
She looked at the garden for a long time. The white flowers reminded her of snow; and snow… Reminded her of her dark past.
Slowly, her dark brown eyes became darker than black, flashes of memories came to her and made her feel choked. Her face became paler and paler. The wind blew, and cool night air came inside the room.
“Cold…” She whispered under the silence. No one could hear her, nor did they realized the changes in her eyes.
It was inevitable, snow and blood had a lot of meaning for her. ‘Red for the Hui, red for the Hui…’ In her head, she could still hear voices chanted the cursed phrase with the diabolical melody, again and again.
Just when she almost lost herself, someone tugged her sleeve.
Han Lian Ai’eyes, which were hollow and dark, suddenly regained their light. Her face was still pale but it was better than before. She checked whose hand disturbed her train of hellish thoughts. It was Han Wu Xia’s.
“Aiya…” Han Wu Xia sighed heavily. “I called you many times, didn’t you hear me.”
Han Lian Ai’s eyes widened. “Ugh… No, sorry…”
“Hmph!” Han Wu Xia got extremely annoyed. Crossing his arms. “His name is Shouhei.”
“What?” Han Lian Ai tilted her head, seemed still at lost.
Han Wu Xia couldn’t take this anymore. Veins were pooping on his forehead. He grabbed her ears and pulled it closer. Immediately shouting right beside her ear. “The boy’s name is Shouhei, ah!”
He was really loud, even Miss Gao who was standing far away felt like he was shouting right beside her.
His voice ringed on Han Lian Ai’s head, making her feel dizzy. She pushed Han Wu Xia away, keeping a distance. She thought. ‘Is one of the Kirin tribe’s powers include voice, how could he be so loud?”
“You better remember the name of the boy you are suspicious of.” Han Wu Xia stomped. He didn't use a loud voice this time, afraid that others will hear. “He might be your savior one day. You will feel extreme shame.”
“I know, I know, shame on me.” Han Lian Ai caressed her hurting ear while rolling her eyes. “Whatever.” She glanced at Shouhei who was standing near Miss Gao.
Unknowingly, Shouhei was staring at her back, smiling.
